Chapter 12
(Ian's POV)
We trotted along one of the many wooded paths of the forest, looking for our lost friend.
"Do you have any idea how we could find him?" Jason asked, looking up at the sky for some odd reason. He pulled out a map, trying to figure out where we were.
"I don't know. I can't think of any way that we could find him other than just shouting out his name and walking." I said, looking down the path. It was getting very late now, and we still haven't seen any sight of him.
"Well, we should build shelter, or at least get on top of a tree." Jason pointed out, looking at the clear night sky.
"Your right Jason. We don't have enough time to build though. We need to get on a tree." I said, looking for our closest tree. I found one just a little ways away and got up. I pulled Jason up on top and we looked around. All we saw was more trees and grass. I shrugged my shoulders and laid down on the leafy canopy, trying to sleep. I closed my eyes and was actually getting a little comfortable when I felt something jab me in the side.
"Uh...Ian..." Jason said, poking me.
"What Jason?" I asked, a little annoyed that he chose to poke me instead of just tap my shoulder.
"Has that house always been there?" He said, pointing to a small, wooden house, with a small flicker of light inside. I sat up and examined. I had never seen it before. We looked at each other and jumped off the tree, and started to walk towards the house.
"Get your sword out Jason. We don't know if there is a threat here, or when the mobs will attack." I cautioned, and he nodded. He pulled out his sword and held it protectively in front of his chest. I did the same. I listened for any mob, but it was quiet. But it felt a little...off.
"Jason? Does something seem wrong?" I asked, looking side to side.
"What do you mean?" He asked, looking straight ahead.
"Well, doesn't it seem a little too quiet out? Especially for mobs?" I questioned, listening again. All I heard was the quiet rustle of the leaves in the night breeze.
"Hmm...your right. Stay on guard." Jason said, looking around quickly.
Not far in the distance, I saw the first mob. An Enderman. Great.
"Jason." I whispered, leaning closer to him.
"What ever you do, do NOT look to you right." I said.
"He looked at me and then instantly looked right. I broke into a cold sweat when I saw the Enderman start to shake, and his mouth open. It gave out a hiss and disappeared, only to appear a moment after, grabbing Jason by the head. He screamed in pain.
"Jason!" I hear someone yell, but it wasn't me. I turned my head towards the house to see a figure with dark brown hair, black sunglasses, and a glowing purple amulet.
"Sky!" I yelled happily. He only ignored me as he ran the Enderman. The Enderman hissed and tried to teleport away, but Sky was too swift. He slashed at its legs and it fell to the ground. He took his sword and slashed at it once more, and it fell to the ground dead. He stabbed it one more time, just for good measure. After making sure it was dead, me and Sky ran over to Jason. His helmet was destroyed, and was laying over a few blocks away. Not only did he look awful, but he also looked very weak.
"Ian, get some water." Sky said, and I instantly ran to the nearest pond. I luckily had a bottle on me and I filled it with water. I ran back to Sky to see him out on a little device.
"Here." I said, laying the bottle next to Sky.
"Thank you." He said, noting look up from the screen, fingers dancing across the keyboard.
"What are you doing Sky?" I asked, looking over his shoulder.
"I'm getting into his stats." He said, clicking more buttons.
"What? That doesn't make any sense. How can YOU get into the stats? Nobody can! No offense." I said, scratching my head.
"Just look." He said, and at a push of a button, a little hologram with his data showed up. It showed basic things like his name and age, but also things like his health.
"Oh no...I knew it." Sky said, scanning through the data.
"What's the matter Sky?" I asked.
"Jason is very low on his health, 2 hearts actually. We need to get back to camp...now!" He said, picking up Jason. He hung limply in his arms. I helped Sky load Jason onto his horse, and we both galloped hard back to base.
"So...Sky..." I started, looking at him.
"Yes? What is it Ian?" He asked, not taking his eyes off the road.
"WHY WERE YOU OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE?! YOU COULD'VE BEEN KILLED!" I yelled at him, sounding like a mother lecturing her child about coming in after dark.
"That doesn't matter." He said, and he simply just stayed quiet for the rest of the ride back to the castle.
---~•*•~---
We pulled into the castle ground and completely abandoned our horses. Jason had gotten worst over the corse of the horse ride, and know he was down to half a heart. I slammed open the hospital wing doors with Sky right behind me. Surprisingly, Bashur was there, talking to one of the doctors.
"Hey guys!" He said, giving us a cheesy melon smile. We just pushed through him straight to the doctor.
"Doctor! He's on half a heart! Do something! Quick!" The doctors eyes widened and he took Jason and ran him back into a room. One of the nurses led us outside.
"Now don't worry, we will do everything for Jason, so go do what you need to do and come back in a couple hours ok?" She said, adding some sympathy behind her words.
We just looked at her and sighed.
"Ok." We both said, walking away.
"Great, first Mitch now possibly Jason?" I said, and Sky stopped dead in his tracks.
"What about Mitch?" He said, a worried tone taking his voice.
I mentally facepalmed myself. He didn't know. I led him over to a bench and sat down.
"Sky, there is no easy way to say this, but.." I said. His eyes grew wide with concern.
"Mitch died a couple hours ago...there wasn't any way to save him." I said, sadly. Adam stared.
"Because of...who?" He stammered, worried for the response.
"..."
"Spit it out!" He said.
"...Ty."
(A/N yay I did it!
