Barnaby's POV

I've been in the hospital for about a week now. Dr Meyer has been really helpful in regards to getting my recovery sped up but also in regards to making sure the baby is healthy.

I'm lucky all I escaped with is a couple of broken ribs really and no harm to the baby. Today we plan to listen to the heart beat, I'm nervous but excited at the same time. Kotetsu was currently finishing up with an interview for a magazine, trying to explain how I'm out of action without anyone finding out the real reason.

I smiled as I felt my stomach while glazing to the dresser next to me that had the picture of my parents. I'll have my own family photo one day, me Kotetsu, baby and Kaede. "Um Barnaby," I turned to the other side seeing Emilia with a soft smile. "You're spacing out again."

"Sorry," I blushed. "I guess I'm just glad that everything seems to be going okay."

"That's only natural," Emilia giggled. "Now the doctor says you should be out by Monday, all being well."

"That's good," I sighed. "I'm a bit nervous, when I'm out of here I'll be telling the other heroes about the baby."

"It will work out," she assured. "They all support you 100%."

"Yeah," I nodded remembering my first birthday with all of them. They really was chaotic but it was wonderful at the same time. Even if I didn't show it. "Kotetsu should be here soon. He's looking forward to hearing the baby's heart beat."

As Emilia opened her mouth to speak, her phone went off. She sighed looking at what I think was the alarm. "Seems I have to go," she said standing up. "You're making good progress so I'll let the doctor know."

"Thank you," I said. "Where are you off to?"

"Oh it's my dad." Dad? As in the man who tried to burn the house down with her and her adoptive mother in it. "They wanted me to do a case study into the psychy of why someone would be this way. Possibly it's a survival instinct or maybe even fear."

She said with that with such a straight face that it scared me. I wished her well as she left. In a way me and her aren't that different, I hope that maybe she can see me as someone to turn to when she is having difficulties. The door clicking open caught my attention as Kotetsu entered with a big grin. "How's my little Bunny?" He asked taking a seat on the bed.

"I'm good," I said as he kissed my forehead."baby is excited to say hello I think." I tried to smile at the slight discomfort in my abdomen.

Kotetsu wrapped his one arm around me and used his free hand to rub my stomach. "Baby will need a name soon." He stated. "Any ideas?"

I blushed, I did have an idea if we have a girl but I'm not sure how Kotetsu would feel about it. "We can think about that when we know the gender," I said trying to steer from the subject.

We heard the door click open again showing dr Meyer. "Evening Mr Kabaragi," he greeted.

"Ah come on doctor, it's Kotetsu, please." Kotetsu laughed letting me go.

The doctor was follow my a nurse who I presume will become our midwife with the machine to he's d the baby's heart beat. "This is nurse Hatman, she will be assisting me while you are under my care," Dr Meyer introduced.

Ms Hatman set the machine up and. Placed some of the jelly on my stomach. I took a sharp gasp as the cold jelly hit me. I took a big gulp as the reader was placed onto my stomach, all was silent for a moment before we heard the soft thumping. I felt my eyes well up with tears of joy as looked at the monitor. "That's our baby bunny." I heard Kotetsu whisper kissing my head.

"Our little Bunny."
