Kaede's POV

I tapped my foot repeatedly against the cold stone floor. My dad was meant to be here 10 minutes ago! Why isn't he here? I cupped my hands around my mouth and blew semi warm air trying to warm myself up. "Kaede," I heard a feminine voice call me. I'm confused, I started to look around and saw a small mouse woman with brown hair and ruby red glasses. Wait! My eyes widened and I ran to the woman. "Hey Emilia," I laughed holding her by the waist. "I've missed you."

"How you doing sweetheart?" She laughed patting my head. "You sure have grown."

"Thanks," I smiled. "Say where's my dad?"

"He had an emergency," Emilia's face dropped. "He called me to see if I pick you up and take you back to the office with me." I hung my head. Same old dad I guess. Sighing I grabbed my suitcase and followed Emilia to her car. "Tell you what," she started opening the boot for me. "I have the company credit card. How about we grab lunch?"

I nodded with excitement and threw my case into the boot before jumping into the front seat. "Can we get pizza?" I exclaimed.

"Sounds like a plan," Emilia said.

When I was little Emilia would visit the house to help look after me when my mum wasn't well. She was like a big sister to me. I placed my hand on my left wrist, feeling the charm bracelet she gave me just after mum died. She said it would bring me luck and happiness. Dad always buys me a new charm every year for Christmas too.

After 20 minutes we reached the all you eat pizza buffet in the silver area of Stern Build. It's amazing here, dad brought me on my first visit. My smile turned as I stopped to wonder what dads emergency was. He could be in the middle of a bank robbery, maybe even car chase. "Kotetsu is fine," Emilia said grabbing my shoulder. "He's your dad after all."  I have a weak smile before nodding and going to our table. "You know, I bet your dad will bring Barnaby to see you afterwards."

My eyes light up! I haven't seen barnaby in so long! I can't wait. I still have a magazine in my bag from Barnabys last interview. I'm so excited I can't hold it in. "When do you think they'll be done?" I asked with a jump in my step.

"No more then a couple hours," Emilia responded. "He said he'll call me once he's done."

"Hey can we pick my dad up a present on the way to his apartment?" I asked. Emilia nodded patting my head again.

It was an hour and half before dad called Emilia telling her we could make our way to his apartment. As promised we stopped by a few shops deciding what to buy dad. In the end I got him a new hat, his old one is getting a bit tacky.

I gripped the bag tightly as we reached my dads apartment. As we burst in we saw an usual site. Barnaby was on the sofa, tears streaming down his face and my dad kneeling in front of him. I'm so confused but I don't care I immediately ran up to Barnaby hugging him tightly. I felt him hug me back and my dad place a hand on my shoulder before walking off. I heard him mention to Emilia that he'd contact her in the morning about Barnaby.

"Barnaby what's wrong?" I asked pulling away.

"Your dad has something to tell you," his voice was hars when he spoke about my dad. Did they have a fight? I thought everything got sorted since the Jake incident.

"Let's go to the kitchen sweetie," my dad said taking me away from Barnaby. I sat down on an open chair at the table and my dad pulled on next to me. He took one of my hands, almost refusing to look me in the eyes. "You know daddy loves mommy very much right?"

"Dad, what's this about?" I asked nervously, feeling him shake.

"Well, you see..." he took a long pause before speeding through his sentence "daddyandbarnabyhavebeendatingforafewmonths!"

"Come again," I raised and eyebrow.

He took a big sigh before looking at me. "Me and Barnaby are dating," my heart stopped. I didn't know what to say. My dad hasn't dated anyone (to my knowledge) since mum died. "Bunny makes me really happy and I think we have something special between us, I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner it's just we wanted to be comfortable with each other before going public."

It took a while to sink in but in the end I just smiled. "I love you daddy," I said. "And I love Barnaby."

My dad almost started crying. I guess it is a big deal to tell your daughter about your new relationship.

"I'm glad," dad sighed, "But there is one more thing. How do you feel about being a big sister?"

"What?"
