FIFTEEN

(A/N: if you see an typos or grammatical errors in this, please forgive me lmao, i was rushing to get out this update asap.)

a whole month passed this way.

a whole month of sneaking into the underworld every saturday at midnight.

that's 4 weeks. 4 more visits.

"where are we going today?" jimin asked, curious as to where the demons were leading them.

"nowhere, don't worry." yoongi answered.

"hearing don't worry from a demon is making me worry even more." jimin rolled his eyes.

"you'll be fine, pet. just come on." jeongguk insisted.

"hearing you'll be fine from a demon is making me certain so that neither of us will be fine." taehyung poked in.

"oh, don't you start aswell. all the mouthy attitude from jimin is enough, i don't need it from you too." jeongguk pointed at him like he was a misbehaving child (which he kinda was, to be honest).

"listen, we're trying to make things interesting. last week was boring because we didn't have a plan and this week is kinda boring too because we thought of this only like an hour before you got here. it was last minute. at least let us have a little element of mystery, damn." hoseok whined.

"fiiiiiiiiiiine." jimin drawed out.

they followed quietly until they reached their destination.

it was...

a wall.

"wow, you weren't kidding when you said it was last minute. a wall? that's what you came up with in an hour?" jimin deadpanned while taehyung giggled.

taehyung stopped laughing, however, when yoongi pulled his backpack off and dumped the contents onto the ground in front if them.

spray paint.

"not so funny anymore, huh, petal?" jeongguk tapped underneath the youngest angel's chin, amused by the look on his little goody-two-shoes face.

"i can't draw to save my life so don't be surprised at a shitty outcome." jimin revealed.

"it's fine, we're terrible too. it's just fun. the only one who's actually good at art is jeongguk." hoseok said.

"he is?" taehyung asked.

"yeah. shocking, right?" yoongi commented.

"yknow, i'm right here. you don't have to talk like i'm not in front of you." jeongguk rolled his eyes at them.

with that, jeongguk bent down and grabbed a can of red spray paint before chucking it to taehyung who caught it with uneasy hands.

"go on." hoseok lightly pushed him towards the wall.

"i-i dunno guys, i mean, i don't mind doing bad things with you guys when it only affects me but this is someone else's building... i'm not exactly an artist. what if they don't like my ugly drawing on the side of their buil-"

jeongguk interrupted, "oh fuck, please stop talking so damn much."

"as a narcoleptic, i can literally feel myself dozing off the longer you talk about being a little pussy." yoongi yawns.

"it's fiiiiine. this building is basically abandoned anyway. no one lives here or anything like that. besides, you're supposed to be doing things you wouldn't usually do, right? well, i doubt that illegal artwork is something you do every weekend in heaven." hoseok pushed.

jimin saw his friend's nervous eyes and walked over to him.

"come, we'll do it together." jimin smiled.

taehyung smiled back at him, albeit warily.

jimin placed his hand gently over taehyung's that was holding the paint can. together they pressed down onto it and, just like that, he was doing it.

he was actually doing it.

he was committing a literal crime.

i mean, it's not too surprising now considering the fact that he already broke the biggest law of heaven by even stepping foot in here. not to mention he attended an illegal drag race and got drunk under the age of 18.

"oh my gosh, you guys are so gay." hoseok snickered.

"technically everyone here is at least a little gay." yoongi said.

jimin spoke up, "um excuse me, neither me or taehyung have told you our romantic preferences."

"oh save it, you two are totally fruity." jeongguk argued.

"definitely homos." yoongi added.

"gay as fuck." hoseok finished.

taehyung flushed a deep red and jimin sputtered out a "shut up!"

"i'm gonna assume that's your way of admitting that you're hella gay." hoseok raised a brow.

"ugh, whatever. look, we did it! happy?" jimin rolled his eyes and did a pair of sarcastic jazz hands as he presented his and taehyung's spray painting.

it read "PJ + KT" with a cute little heart.

"oh gosh, you guys really are angels. you can't even make spray painting look incriminating." jeongguk pinched the bridge of his nose.

"shush, it's artwork. right tae?" jimin smiled, swinging an arm around taehyung.

"yeah." taehyung smiled softly.

as of lately, jeongguk's broken little heart has kinda been doing a thing when he sees that smile.

"you two have definitely fucked before." yoongi randomly commented.

jimin choked on air and taehyung was back to being as red as a tomato.

hoseok and jeongguk cackled.

"excuse me?!" jimin screeched.

"what? i'm seeing levels of closeness that i've only ever gotten from hoseok and that's because we've had sex multiple times." yoongi deadpanned.

"jesus, yoon. don't go around spreading my business just like you were spreading your-"

"don't you dare finish that sentence, hobi." yoongi warned and hoseok showed himself zipping his mouth shut before throwing away the key.

taehyung looked absolutely mortified and jimin had no idea what to say.

"i literally cannot take you two anywhere." jeongguk snorted.

"well, for your information, me and taehyung have never... yeah, that. we've never done that. we're soulmates, not friends with benefits." jimin huffed.

"have you ever done that at all, jimin? i mean, fine, i can believe that you and taehyung have never done it. however, you're saying it as if you have actually done it before. i didn't know it got freaky up in heaven." hoseok snickered with a smirk, holding up jimin's chin.

jimin blushed and pushed him away, "sh-shut up."

"so the little angel isn't so angelic after all? how very interesting." yoongi laughed.

"oh whatever. you're just salty that the only action you get is from your best friend." jimin laughed himself, easily falling back into his confident persona.

"yikes, that's gotta hurt." jeongguk commented.

"as if you get any ass, jeongguk." jimin smirked.

"please, i get more than you sweetheart. if you can trust me on one thing, trust me on that." jeongguk argued.

"people don't go running screaming from you when you ask to be alone with them?" jimin snorted.

"oh they definitely scream alright. not while running away, though. quite the opposite, actually. why? you curious?" jeongguk smirked just as jimin had.

jimin blushed, "ew, no."

"then stop asking so many questions about where my dick goes because you're starting to sound like you want it somewhere near you." jeongguk winked before grabbing the spray can from taehyung and pulling the boy next to him, ignoring jimin who was yelling curses at him for his previous comment.

"huh?" taehyung made a confused noise.

"come here. jimin showed you how to do something lame." jeongguk said, grabbing a few more colours.

"hey!"

that was jimin.

"oh and you're such an artist?" taehyung giggled.

"i'm better than you." jeongguk elbowed him lightly.

"show me then."

and so the other four boys spent the next hour eating snacks and chatting while they watched jeongguk spray paint the wall until it was a masterpiece.

~three weeks ago~

"roadtrip! roadtrip! roadtrip!"

"okay, we get it hobi." jeongguk groaned, pulling his hat down over his face.

"cheer up, jeonggukkie." taehyung giggled.

"jeonggukkie? you're so cute, taehyung." hoseok chuckled.

"don't encourage him." jeongguk whined at hoseok.

the boys were currently in truck that hoseok rented, driving aimlessly in the middle of nowhere.

they were trying to find a beach at first but ultimately they ended up lost. yet, they still managed to have fun.

"why? you don't like taehyung's nickname for you?" jimin teased.

"it's not that- i-" jeongguk tried but was interrupted.

"so you do like the nickname? you like when he calls you cute pet names?" jimin pressed on.

taehyung blushed, "jimin... stop."

"yeah, jimin. stop." jeongguk growled.

"okay, let's not provoke jeongguk because i cannot handle an angry kookster while driving and yoongi is asleep. if he goes rage mode on you, you're gonna have to save yourself." hoseok warned jimin.

"again, i'm right here, stop talking like i'm not." jeongguk sat up.

"sorry, jeonggukkie." hoseok snickered.

"ugh, don't call me that." the boy kicked his chair.

"but it's okay when taehyung calls you that?" jimin asked.

"i never said that!" jeongguk argued.

"you didn't kick him when he said it." jimin pointed out.

"true." hoseok added fuel to the flames despite what he'd warned them of previously.

"if you hate the nickname then kick taehyung." jimin said and hoseok echoed him.

"what?! why am i being assaulted in this equation?" taehyung squealed.

"why have i woken up to taehyung being assaulted?" yoongi yawned.

"i'm not gonna kick taehyung for no reason." jeongguk protested.

"there is a reason. the nickname is the reason." hoseok said followed by an "exactly" from jimin.

"yeah but- but-" jeongguk stammered.

"-but you like the nickname when taehyung says it." hoseok finished for him.

"i don't! i- yknow what? i'm over this." jeongguk announced before putting his earphones in.

"awwwww jeonggukkie has a crush." hoseok teased and jimin laughed.

taehyung turned bright red, "s-stop guys."

"what the fuck is going on?" yoongi looked around in confusion.

"i'll tell you when you're older, honey." hoseok patted his thigh.

"i'm literally older than you, asshole." yoongi argued.

~two weeks ago~

"a rage room?" taehyung asked, an eyebrow raised.

"yeah, it's a facility made for demons with particularly bad violence issues. basically if you're a demon of anger, wrath or brutality you have free admission to this place. you can get out all your anger here. it's to stop demons from killing eachother all the time." jeongguk explained.

"are you a demon of wrath, anger or brutality?" jimin asked.

jeongguk faltered, "uhhh-"

"we can just get in because my dad has connections. there's nothing money can't buy in the underworld. us guys just come here for fun because we like smashing shit." hoseok saved him.

although he said it to save jeongguk, he wasn't actually lying. the boys did often come here for fun.

not to mention, the reason they got admission is not because jeongguk's a demon of wrath but it truly was because of hoseok's father. that's how hoseok himself and yoongi got admission too.

before, they wouldn't let jeongguk in because he was mixed. when he went there for the first time they called him names like "half-breed" and "freak" then told him to scram.

however, being best friends with jung hoseok had it's perks.

let's just say those guys were fired and haven't been seen for a long time.

once they'd walked into one of the many rooms, the angels looked around in confusion.

"what do you do? just break stuff?" jimin questioned.

"yep." yoongi said, popping the p.

the room was regular looking. a bookshelf, a desk with a lamp and some documents on it, a couch, a coffee table. scattered around where normal decorations like potted plants, candles and a few pictures hung up.

jimin took a piece of paper from the desk and ripped it in half before scrunching it and throwing it on the floor.

"like that?" he shrugged.

"that was pathetic." jeongguk deadpanned.

taehyung held back a laugh.

"what're you laughing at, sweets? i'm sure you couldn't do better even though jimin was terrible." hoseok commented.

"well, what do you want me to do?" taehyung asked.

"you're supposed to let out all the anger in you." yoongi instructed.

"i don't have any anger in me." taehyung stated matter-of-factly.

"oh please, you're the only mixed angel in existence living amongst all of those other angels with their self-praising, holier than thou attitudes. you should be the angriest person in this room, love." jeongguk argued, tapping him on the nose.

taehyung let out a long breath.

"cmon, be our guest." hoseok pushed.

yoongi was the one to start. taking books out of the shelf and slamming them onto the ground along with throwing them into the wall so hard that you could here the snapping sound from the collision.

jeongguk followed by flipping over the coffee table and snapping the legs off one by one just by kicking them.

hoseok took the pile of papers that jimin had first went for and threw them all over the room before knocking over the plant in the corner.

jimin shrugged and began to join them but taehyung was still nervous.

he poked a few items curiously.

watching the other guys, he realised that he'd never even thought of being so destructive before.

well, there's a first time for everything.

taehyung took a painting off of the wall and snapped it in half on his thigh.

jeongguk looked at him, "did it feel good?"

"kinda." taehyung smiled a bit, feeling shy again.

"come on, then. don't be scared. just do it." jeongguk beckoned him over to the mayhem they were causing.

that's when taehyung realised that none of these people would judge him for what he was about to do.

so he did it.

he swiped everything off of the desk, including the lamp and laptop that shattered to pieces once they hit the floor.

then he took the other pictures off of the wall and threw it across the room, almost colliding with hoseok's head.

"woah!" hoseok laughed after he had dodged the weighty object.

"see, now he's getting it." yoongi encouraged.

adding fuel to the flames. a bad idea that sometimes leads to good outcomes in the long term.

taehyung flipped the desk over and it fell with a loud thud.

then he started jumping aggressively on the couch until he heard the wood crack and the springs pop.

he threw vases across the room and smashed potted plants onto the carpet.

he snapped the skinny candles into pieces and smushed the wax into the carpet with his shoes.

he tore the pages from the books into little pieces and threw them in the air as if they were flakes of snow.

he kicked over the trashcan and kocked over the standing clock that let out a loud and distorted chime when it hit the floor.

after five whole minutes the room was trashed and taehyung, breathing heavily with his fists clenched, looked at the other boys to find that they were all looking at him in shock.

"when i said you had anger in you, i didn't envision it to be that much anger." jeongguk was the first to comment.

"i'm your bestfriend and i didn't even know you were capable of that." jimin added.

then taehyung flushed and held his hands behind his back, looking down at his feet.

"aaaand, there's the taehyung we're used to." yoongi said, earning a chuckle from hoseok.

"you feel better?" jeongguk asked, referring to taehyung vivid display of internalised rage.

the boy nodded shyly.

~one week ago~

"we're doing WHAT?" taehyung and jimin screeched.

hoseok shushed them harshly, "stop screaming, damn."

"we're breaking into the school." yoongi repeated for them casually.

"why would we do that?" jimin asked with urgency in his tone.

"one of my teachers wrote a note on her desk about calling my parents on friday. if my dad hears that i've been acting up in school, he'll cut off my allowance. how the fuck is a teenage demon of greed supposed to survive without a monthly allowance? i just need to get rid of the note so that she doesn't walk up to her desk on monday and see it because then she'll remember to call my dad." hoseok explained.

"you'd risk literally getting arrested just to have your allowance? have you not thought of the fact that, if you get caught doing this, your allowance will probably get cut off for way longer than just a month?" jimin deadpanned.

"well then i guess we better not get caught, huh?" yoongi ruffled jimin's hair before rolling his eyes with a yawn.

taehyung was quiet, looking at the gate. it was dark so he couldn't see much but, from what he could see, it looked more like a prison than a school.

the fence was made of thin metal strips that were attached together in diamond shapes along with large curls of barbed wire sitting at the top of it.

why do they need barbed wire on a school fence? taehyung questioned to himself but refused to voice that thought.

once they had made it through the fence from a small opening that the angels assumed none of the teachers knew about, they ran silently over to the back door which was thankfully left unlocked.

"whoever's in charge to locking up, they're very irresponsible." jimin whispered.

"the lock is broken. it got smashed off when a demon of brutality tried to escape. that guy has issues, trust me." hoseok replied.

"he's crazier than me, man." jeongguk added.

"literally insane." yoongi said.

"why did you say escape? don't you mean ditch? it's a school not a jail cell." jimin raised an eyebrow.

"trust me, sweetcheeks. if you went to our school, you'd be trying to escape too." yoongi stated seriously.

jimin shivered at that, looking at taehyung who looked terrified.

once they were in the school, taehyung reached for the light switch only to be tackled by jeongguk.

"stop! no lights!" jeongguk hissed.

"what are you? a vampire?" jimin snorted.

"if you turn the lights on, the security cameras will see us. they can see us now but they won't be able to identify us so it's fine." hoseok said.

"you have cctv in your school hallways?" taehyung asked.

"in the hallways, all classrooms, the lunch hall, the bathrooms, the janitor's closet, the guidance counselor's room and all the staff offices." yoongi said as if it was normal to need security cameras in the school bathrooms.

"and we have metal detectors at the front doors. plus the staff do weekly bag searches on all students." hoseok jumped in.

"and there's a padded room for solitary confinement." jeongguk mentioned. he'd been put in that room way too many times.

"okay so maybe your school is a prison..." jimin mumbled.

taehyung couldn't believe his ears. metal detectors? padded rooms? solitary confinement? it sounded like an insane asylum more than it did a highschool.

"don't you feel like your being watched all the time?" he asked.

"you get used to it after a while. you kinda just forget that the cameras are there." yoongi shrugged.

jimin suddenly jumped in, "i'm still stuck on the whole solitary confinement thing. in our school, the worst it gets is an hour detention."

hoseok snorted, "in this school, the best it gets is an hour detention."

once they'd found the classroom they were looking for, hoseok picked the lock with a bobby pin and they all shuffled over to the desk.

jeongguk shone his phone flashlight on the desk, making sure the light didn't get to any of their faces.

"found it! let's get the fuck out of here." hoseok grabbed the note and ripped it up, throwing it in the trash.

they all ran out of the classroom and down the corridor when they heard a voice.

"put your hands up!"

"oh fuck, run!" jeongguk urged them all.

"is that the fucking police?! oh my gosh, we're all gonna die!" jimin screeched.

"i can't die like this!" taehyung yelled.

"shut up! no one is dying, cmon!" hoseok pushed them out the back door.

"stop!" the officer called, running after them.

jeongguk lifted up the secret fence exit, "go go go!"

one by one they quickly crawled out of the gate, jeongguk following behind them lastly.

they ran down the street, going nowhere in particular, until their legs gave out and the officer was nowhere to be seen.

they found themselves in a park where they all collapsed onto the grass.

the sound of heavy breathing and hard huffs were the only thing heard until, suddenly, a giggle was heard amongst the group.

taehyung.

he sat up slightly, holding himself up with his elbows, and let out a strangled laugh.

the others couldn't help but smile until eventually they were all a cackling mess on the floor.

they all stood up once they caught their breath, jeongguk helping taehyung off of the floor.

while jimin, hoseok and yoongi were absorbed in conversation, jeongguk looked at taehyung.

his eyes sparkled in the moonlight and he glowed just like the stars. it had jeongguk entranced. taehyung had jeongguk entranced.

taehyung could say the same about jeongguk.

they started to feel fine droplets of rain falling every so often and that's what snapped them out of eachother's gaze.

it was only then that they realised they hadn't let go of eachother's hand since jeongguk had helped taehyung up.

~the present~

those four weeks proved effective at bringing the five friends even closer.

taehyung looked forward to seeing the demons every weekend more than anything else.

especially jeongguk.

those two had become especially close.

the other three very clearly noticed it but decided not to say too much about it other than some harmless teasing here and there.

it's just that it was hard not to notice jeongguk's lingering gazes and taehyung shy touches.

or how they always ended up next to eachother no matter what the original arrangement was.

or how jeongguk seemed calmer with taehyung around and taehyung seemed less anxious with jeongguk around.

or how jeongguk stared at taehyung whenever he smiled and vice versa.

it was all so subtle yet so loud.

jeongguk holding the small of taehyung's back as if it was normal and no one saying anything about it.

taehyung reaching to hold jeongguk's upper arm whenever he wanted guidance or some kind of protection.

but they were just friends.

only friends.

just like the rest of the group were: friends.

just friends.

other than that, things in heaven hadn't changed too much and everyone was still oblivious to taehyung and jimin's weekly expeditions.

only one thing had changed and that thing was at school.

specifically with everyone's favourite goody-two-shoes: taehyung.

turns out, the golden boy wasn't so golden anymore.

daydreaming in class.

whispering to jimin non-stop.

giving his teachers just a hint of, dare i say, attitude.

everyone at school had agreed that taehyung was definitely acting slightly different but no one decided to comment.

currently, our angels were sitting in math class on a tuesday morning.

taehyung (who had stayed up late last night watching tv, writing in his diary and fantasising about a certain demon) was not in a good mood.

something that the demons had learnt but his fellow angels had not yet was the lesson "don't make taehyung angry."

this lesson would soon be taught.

the teacher had not yet walked in so taehyung had his head rested on the desk, mentally preparing himself to do math equations while running on 4 hours of sleep.

that's when he saw a gum wrapper land on his desk and felt a piece of paper hit the back of his head.

he sat up and turned straight around.

this alone had shocked his attackers since taehyung almost never had the courage to actually look at the people who tormented him during class.

"does it hurt?" taehyung asked with a raised eyebrow.

the two boys looked at eachother with a puzzled look before one of them spoke up, "does what hurt?"

"does it hurt to know that you're the reason your parents cry themselves to sleep at night? does it hurt to know that you're a disappointment to your families and probably a failed abortion?" taehyung asked with a dead serious look on his face as he got up and walked towards them.

the whole class was watching in pure intrigue.

was this really taehyung?

one of the boys opened their mouth to say something but was cut off when taehyung slammed his hands onto their desk.

"yknow, it's only a piece of paper. it's not that serious. i should just let it go. i should. but guess what? it's NOT just a piece of paper. it's NOT just a gum wrapper. it's YEARS of that shit. hundreds of paper balls, hundreds of gum wrappers. do you not get tired? is it not boring? think of something original! do better! maybe then your parents will be fucking proud of you. the same kids who throw pieces of paper at their classmates thinking that it's comedy gold are the same ones who have to rip up their report cards so that their parents don't find out that they're failing. do you not see the connection there? maybe if you stopped worrying about me, you wouldn't be tanking half of your classes. do you both have crushes on me or something? it must be that because i seriously can't think of an explanation as to why you're so obsessed with me! it's too bad that i can't tell whether you're cute or not since your faces is stuffed too far up your own asses."

the entire classroom was dead silent in shock and the two boys were trembling in fear at the look taehyung was giving them.

suddenly the teacher walked in and set her bag down on the desk, "taehyung sit down, please, class is starting."

"i'm not one to wish bad upon others but i hope very bad things happen to you." taehyung whispered with a smile before sitting back down at his desk.

jimin snickered at the two boys who were utterly gobsmacked, "angel of love isn't so lovely, huh?"

no, apparently not.
