So my first period class has some very out spoken students.
They say a lot of things that are usually frowned upon. The teacher just laughs with them.

Well last Wednesday, they started to complain about the dress code. Like the fact that we cant wear hats to school.
My school is pretty allowing of things, like unnatural hair colors and certain outfits.

Well the students were talking about it, and then one kid said "it isn't fair that the goth kids can wear cat ears (headbands) to school if we can't wear hats"!

Now lots of kids at my school wear headbands with cat ears on them to school. Which isn't against the school rules. I was one of those kids recently.
In fact I was wearing them right then and there in the class. The other kids looked at me like I couldn't hear them, they just had a certain look to their faces.
I'm not goth and most of the kids that wear the ears aren't goth either.

There's nothing wrong with being goth. I'm just bringing attention to the fact that he said goth kids. Then the other kids started to talk again. "Yeah the only reason that they allow the kids to wear them is because they are afraid that the students will just go home and cut them selves because of it".

"Or that they will just try to off themselves so that they can make the school allow them to wear them!"

I was incredibly pissed at this point. Some students just started to laugh at what they were saying. The teacher just looked at them and didn't say anything.

*Friday they continue conversation*
Then they started to talk about a girl that goes to this school. I'm gonna change her name to Becca.
"And you know that girl Becca, how she wore that pikachu costume,"?
Well first of all that wasn't a costume at all. It was completely within the school rules, besides the hat. Which she took off inside school.

Back to what they were saying.
"They shouldn't have let her wear that. The only reason she was aloud to wear it is because when we yelled at her about it she had a panic attack"!

Ok let me tell you the reason she had a panic attack. You fu*king yelled at her for like 2 minutes about what she was wearing in front of a hundred students or so. Your the reason she cried. They let her wear it because it was within school rules.

Then after that they said:
"She probably went home and cut herself because of it"! They said while laughing. Again the teacher said nothing. At thus point I wanted to punch them all.

Then they started to talk about one of my friends. I'm changing her name to Mary.
"You know that girl,  Mary. The one that always gives us gum. You ever notice how she is always dressed up in costumes. She shouldn't even be allowed in school".
I snapped my mechanical pencil at this point. I got up, and walked to the teacher. I asked to go to the bathroom.

She allowed me.
Instead I went to the front office to talk to the principal. He told me "we can't do anything about it right now. Because we only have your report of this. But on Monday we will have a faculty member in there to listen to the class to make sure that nothing is going on. This is a form of bullying, thank you for reporting it. But until we get more evidence then we can't do anything"!

I went back to class with a note for the teacher. Explaining why I was gone for so long. It said " Zoe was called to the office to get information about something that her parents sent us. Please excuse her from anything she might have missed."
They gave me the note because I wanted to be anonymous for my report to everyone.

I sat in my chair to hear the students talking about how they had gone all the way to the principal searching for permission to have a petition to get rid of the cat ears. I was mad. But the principal apparently said no to them as had everyone else they had asked. They said that the principal had told them that it was within the students rights to wear the headbands and other clothes.

I can't wait for Monday.
Cause I know even though a faculty member might be in the room they don't care what they say. They will say almost anything in front of anyone. I so hope they bring it up again. Cause then the principal will have prove to punish them with it. They can get in serious trouble for this kind of thing at my school.
