Chapter 5
Jeremy and I walked a narrow path until we came across route 101. Now it was time for me to catch my first Pokémon. Hm I wonder what kind of Pokémon they have on route 101. Maybe something strong, but cute at the same time.
"I can't wait to see what Pokémon are lurking in the trees and grass!" I said as I ran into route 101 to find my very first Pokémon, besides Treecko.
"Um Luna," Jeremy interrupted.
"Yes." I answered.
"Remember that Eevee, Kobe, that I gave you?" Jeremy asked.
"Oh I totally forgot about that little fur ball. I think either my mom has it or its at the lab with Professor Birch." I replied, and now I began pacing around asking myself where I have my Eevee.
"I'm pretty sure your mom gave it to Professor Birch when you came back from the Johto Region." Jeremy said.
"Yeah, I think you'll right," I responded. "Anyways, gotta go find a Pokémon to catch!" Then I awkwardly marched into the small route looking for some Pokémon that I could catch.
I searched and searched for what it seemed like hours. I looked up at trees, inside bushes, and the tall grass, but not a single Pokémon anyway. Until, I heard a faint shake coming from behind a bush. I carefully walked over to the bush, hopefully not scaring the Pokémon rustling in the bush. Then a small light gray and black Pokémon jumped out and growled. I stepped back, but then I realized that I could catch it! I throw out my Pokéball containing Treecko and grabs my Pokédex to analyze the Pokémon
Pokédex: Poochyena, the bite Pokémon. A Pokémon with a persistent nature, it chases its chosen prey until the prey becomes exhausted.
"Wow! A Poochyena! I'm so gonna catch this! Okay Treecko, now use Pound!" Treecko run up to Poochyena and was about to slam it's tail at Poochyena, it bit Treecko's tail and he began to run around in circles with Poochyena hanging from his tail.
"TREECKO!! TREECKO!!" My partner, Treecko, cried.
"Treecko calm down. Swing your tail and try to get Poochyena off." I said in panic. Treecko began doing what I told him to do. He shook his tail as hard as he could, then Poochyena came flying off of Treecko's tail and hit the bark of a tree. It shook it's head a few times, then it jumped back up on its paws and fled. "Nooo!! My Poochyena! Come back!" I cried. "Now I have to find another Pokémon."
"Luna, I finally found you," Jeremy said as he ran up to me. "I was looking all over for you after you suddenly ran off looking for a Pokémon. You do realize that you don't have to catch one, do you?"
I lifted an eyebrow. I don't need to catch one? Of course I need too! How the heck am I supposed to beat the Petalburg gym leader, if I only have one Pokémon?! "Jeremy, what in the world are you talking about. Can't you see? I need at least two Pokémon if I want to beat the gym leader."
"That's not what I mean. You already have a Pokémon, Kobe the Eevee. Remember I was talking about him earlier?" Jeremy said with a sign of slight irritation in his voice.
"Wait? You're saying that I can just use Kobe?" I asked unsurely.
"Yes. I have been trying to tell you this for a while now." Jeremy answered.
"Oh, I'm so sorry!" I apologized.
"No it's alright, but I think we could get going and head onto Petalburg City," Jeremy said. "Come on."
We walked for a few minutes until we saw a brighter light from an opening. I could only see a few large pointed houses, meaning we were close to Petalburg City. Finally, my first gym battle will arrive soon, and I'll get my first badge.
"Come on, Jeremy! Petalburg City is straight ahead. We don't want to be late!" I happily beamed as I ran in front of Jeremy heading towards Petalburg City, where I'll get my first gym badge.
