Chapter 3
"So, you've picked Treecko," said Professor Birch. "Okay Sabrina, it's your turn to pick which starter you want."
Sabrina walked up to the two Pokémon that were left, Mudkip and Torchic. Then she picked up the fire type Pokémon and held it tightly. "I want Torchic!" she beamed happily. Wait, if I have a grass type and she has a fire type does that mean her Pokémon has an advantage over mine?!
"Fantastic! Now here are your Pokédex's," Professor Birch then handed us a red semi rectangular device. "Okay these hold all the data of each encountered or seen Pokémon. It's a very handy device, and you'll need it along the way." Professor Birch explained, then he muttered 'one moment' and left the room. About a minute or two he reentered later, he walked back into the room and handed each of us six pokeballs. "These are for you, they help you catch wild Pokémon."
"Hey Luna, I know we haven't seen each other in like forever, but I was wondering if we could be rivals? You and me! I'm assuming that we both have the same dream, and I really want us to battle every time we meet, just to see how we're doing with are training. So what do you say?" asked Sabrina.
I pondered her thought for a moment until I finally made up my mind. "Yes, I would love for us to become rivals."
Sabrina's eyes glimmered in excitement. "Amazing! Ooo!! How about we have are first Pokémon battle right here. Won't it be a great first experience?"
I nodded my head in agreement. "Okay, then let's get this battle started." Sabrina gave me a confident look, then at that second we began are battle. "Okay Treecko, you're up!"
Sabrina looked down at Torchic and gave it a slight nod. Torchic then clumsily ran onto the battle field, which was in the same room where Professor Birch gave us our starters, how convenient. Treecko and Trochic stood directly horizontally across each other and they both had determination in their eyes, same with me and Sabrina.
"Okay Torchic! Use Ember!" Sabrina said enthusiastically. Torchic then jumped up into the air and used Ember on Treecko. I had to think fast! I either have to counter the move or dodge it.
"Hurry dodge it Treecko!" I shouted and at the nick of time Treeko swiftly dodged Torchic's Ember attack, then they both landed on the ground. Okay if I use a grass type move, it won't have enough effect on it, so I guess I'll go with a normal type move. "Treecko use Pound!" Treecko ran towards Torchic and hit it with a direct hit. Torchic fell backwards, but quickly stood up and shook off some dirt.
Sabrina stood there paralyzed, not knowing what to do next. "Wait! Okay Torchic now use Peck!" Torchic was running at a high speed right to my Treecko, but it I told Treecko to dodge it again, Sabrina would think that I don't have the guts to attack her Pokémon, so I only had one choice left.
"Treecko, counter it with Pound!" Treecko gave me a slight nod then quickly ran up to Torchic. Then Treecko countered Torchic's attack, creating a small explosion. "Treecko!" I shouted in concern. As the smoke faded I saw Treecko standing, though it had a few bruise marks on its skin. On the other hand, Torchic laid on the ground. "Did I win?" I questioned myself.
"Torchic!" Sabrina called then ran onto the battle field and picked up Torchic and held it tightly. I walked up to Treecko and if climbed up onto my shoulder. "That was a good battle, right?"
"Yeah it was. It was a great first start on our Pokémon journeys." I added.
"Here, give me your Pokémon and I'll heal them up. And both of you had an excellent battle, I look forward to seeing you two progress on your journeys." Sabrina and I both handed Professor Birch our Pokémon.

"Okay girls, Treecko and Torchic are fully healed." Professor Birch then handed us each a Pokéball, containing our starter. "Bye! You two stay safe. Contact me at the Pokemon Center once you get to Petalburg City!" He called out as we left his lab.
"Bye! And we will!" Sabrina and I said in unison.
"Well, I guess from here on out we're going to be rivals. But are friendship will last forever." Sabrina said.
"Yeah," I answered. "Well, you stay safe."
"I will. Anyways, see you soon. Oh and the next time we meet, lets battle! We can test each other's strength and our Pokémon can grow stronger along the way." Sabrina suggested.
"Yeah, that's a great idea." I replied.
"See ya!" Sabrina said.
"See you soon!" I cheered as we both walked different directions onto Petalburg City, so we can receive our first gym badge.

Sorry for the late update, I didn't have my phone for like a week so it was hard for me to write this on the computer. Anyways, I'm back now so don't worry. I'll try to update another chapter today, but for now, goodbye!!!
