Chapter 18
It took the entire day, but Jeremy, the elder and his Wingull, and I were able to get through the Petalburg Woods. We were now approaching the docks the man was talking about.
"Here we are," The elder looked down at his Wingull. "Home sweet home, right Peeko?
The Wingull, known as Peeko, flapped it wings rapidly. It then flew up into the sky to say hello to the other Wingulls. I assumed that they were its friends or family.
The elder gestured to us. "Follow me. Let's go into my home so a bit to rest. I haven't walked this much in ages." The man headed into his home, chuckling at his own remark. Jeremy and I smiled and walked through his front door.
The man took a seat at his small table. Jeremy and I sat on the opposite side of him.
"I'd like to thank you two again for saving my darling, Peeko." the elder thanked. "This is the reason why I'll help you two get to Dewford Island. But either way, I'd help you." He plastered a charming grin on his face.
"Thank you once again, sir," Jeremy stated.
"Just call me Mr. Brinely," the man replied. Jeremy nodded firmly. "Anyways, we'll be departing shortly. I'll just start the engine. It's been a while since I've been sailing on my boat."
Mr. Brinely made his way to the counter, picked up a pair of keys, then walked to the doorway. "Make yourselves comfortable while I'm out, okay? I'll be back to get you two when I'm ready."

"Onward, Peeko!" Mr. Brinely beamed. "To Dewford Island."
The boat slowly began to set sail. The blue, shimmering, ocean reflected myself perfectly as we traveled faster and faster. The salty breeze from the seawater made its way to my nose causing me to cringe. I wasn't used to this smell.
My soft, brown hair flew as we gained speed. Mr. Brinely said that Dewford Town was not that far away from Petalburg, and of course it was on Dewford Island. Only a few dozen miles away. However, with his boat, we could make it there before sundown and Jeremy and I would stay at the Pokémon Center once again.
As Mr. Brinely picked up the speed of his motorboat, faint mountainous shapes formed in the distance. We were quickly approaching the island. But best of all, the sun was resting on the horizon, carefully watching us arrive at our destination. From afar, it might seem like a small, black object was heading towards the island.
It reminded me of movie I watched when I was a child. There was a large Wailord riding into the sun with someone upon its back. We were like the Wailord. Except, the three of us were riding away from paradise.
The tiny ship began to slow down. My hair, which was now messed up by the insane wind, began to cease it erratic movements and calmed itself. Eventually, the boat stopped right up upon the docks.
"Ah, Dewford Town, aye Peeko?" Mr. Brinely stated as he allowed his Wingull to rest on his forearm.
The white and blue bird Pokémon flapped its wings in agreement.
As Mr. Brinely helped Jeremy and I exit the boat, I skimmed my eyes around in the process. The small island known as Dewford Town was populated with trees. Pretty strange considering it is an island. Though, strong Pokémon might linger around these parts so it would not hurt to attempt to search for another team member.
However, in the distance was something more mountainous. Something more like a cave. After my Gym battle I'll go investigate that. After all, my father once told me a legend about these three Pokémon that occupy the Hoenn region. Two have been in hibernation for centuries now while the other...no one knows where it went.
"Luna," Mr. Brinely called. I instantly snapped out of my daydream and looked at the old man.
"Yes, Mr. Brinely?" I questioned, now giving him my full attention.
"The Gym is right over there," He pointed straight ahead to a yellow dome. "The Gym Leader, Brawly, is a Fighting Type expert. In order to easily win, I think you should use your Taillow. After all, Flying Type moves are very effective towards Fighting Type moves."
"Alright," I replied, not making eye contact with Mr. Brinely. I was too distracted off the thought of my next Gym battle. Once I realized my mistake, I turned back around to Mr. Brinely and thanked him.
"No problem, Luna," the elder answered gleefully. He then handed me a folded piece of paper. "Call me once you defeat Brawly."
I gave him a slight smile and nodded. Mr. Brinely climbed aboard his boat while Peeko landed on the small bowsprit. He then sailed off back to Petalburg, waving as he drifted off into the horizon like the Wailord in the movie.
"I suppose we should rent out a room in the Pokémon Center before all are taken," Jeremy stated, then began to walk towards the large red and white dome-shaped building.
"I doubt it'll run out of rooms," I responded as I jogged up to him. "This island seems deserted."
"Don't jump to conclusions, Luna," Jeremy smirked as we walked into the Pokémon Center.

Hello everyone! Sorry for the long wait and a short chapter. I knew what I was gonna write but I couldn't put them into the right words. Plus, I'm pretty busy with school and all nowadays.
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed the chapter. This year I promise I'll update more frequently because...we need to finish this book. I know that they'll be a lot of chapters in here due to it having to go through Luna's adventure in her home region. I'm assuming from this point that we might have over 50 chapters. I'm hoping that I can write really fast for the next chapter.
Anyways, I'm glad you enjoyed it and please have a nice day!
