Chapter 15

The sun peeked through the small openings of the curtains. I moaned as the sun harmful and bright rays hit my eyes. I winced at the pain. I rose up immediately and stretched my arms. Looking over at the bed across the room was Jeremy, sound asleep. It would be considered rude to awake him at this moment.

I placed my bare feet onto the cold floor as I began to head towards my bag, wear I would find a new pair of clean clothing. I headed to the bathroom to wash up and put them on. In my eyes, there wasn't much to do today, except to head to our next town to obtain the second gym badge. Sadly, I had no idea which route to go and what town I would be heading to next.

Once my fresh pair of leggings and light blue shirt, covered it with a thin, light brown jacket. I then unlocked the door, and noticed Jeremy fully clothed, hair done, and playing with his buddy, Larvitar.

"Good morning, Jeremy," I greeted, stepping out of the bathroom.

He looked up from his green Ground type friend and smiled. "Morning to you too, Luna."

"Do you think we should get breakfast now?" I asked, while lifting my dark brown messenger bag from the floor, which laid next to my bed.

"Yeah, I'm starving," Jeremy admitted as he rubbed his stomach. "I don't remember if we had eaten anything after your gym battle."

"I'm not sure either," I agreed. "Let's get going now before we faint from hunger."

Jeremy chuckled slightly then allowed Larvitar to climb onto his shoulder. Once I placed my bag around my shoulder, I double checked to make sure no loose items were left behind in the room. After the investigation was successful, Jeremy and I walked out the door, heading downstairs for breakfast.

Jeremy walked towards the front desk to encounter Nurse Joy and tell her that we will be checking out from the room. I, on the other hand, went to the back of the Pokemon Center, where they offered meals for wondering Trainers such as me and Jeremy. I explained to Jeremy that he could meet up with me while I ordered some food. He agreed and we split directions.

Arriving at the mini restaurant, I sat down at an empty table where there were four chairs. Two for Jeremy and I, one for Kobe and Treecko, and one for Larvitar. It would be kind of us to allow our Pokémon to sit in seats like us, instead of being on the ground were dust and grim can get into their little claws or paws. That would ruin their adorable appearance.

Grabbing my two pokéballs from my bag, I slightly threw them onto the ground. In a split second, Kobe and Treecko appeared in their usual happy manner. I picked up the two Pokéballs and placed the back into my messenger bag.

"Good morning guys," I greeted with a kind to my little Pokémon friends. "I'm sure you guys were hungry after that battle with Roxanne." The two of the nodded. "Well then, why don't you two climb onto the seat and I'll order something for you two that you'll like."

They immediately roared in excitement and hopped onto the seat right next to me. I then push their seat a bit closer to the table and picked up the menu.

"Let's get the two of you settled first while I wait for Jeremy." I stated.

I skimmed through the menu on the Pokémon listed section. Many marvelous treats that were to definitely fill my Pokémon for the day were scattered throughout the page. Suddenly, something caught my eye.

"PokéBitz," I asked myself. "are these a new brand of Pokémon food?" I shrugged my shoulders then glanced over at my partners, who were eagerly waiting for food. "Do you guys want to try PokéBitz?"

The two looked over at each other and smiled.

"Treecko!" my partner, Treecko, of course, cheered in delight. He spoke for the two of them, it seemed.

"All right, I'll place an order for two PokéBitz." I turned the page to where it listed food for humans. "Now it's my turn to find something."

I looked throughout the pages until I spotted something that would make my mouth water. And just as if it was on schedule, Jeremy opened the door and walked through, noticing me in an instant. He quickly headed over and sat down, then placed Larvitar onto the seat right next to him. Once the waiter showed up, I placed all five of our orders.

"Wow, that was really good tasting food," Jeremy claimed as we walked out of the restaurant and back into the actual Pokémon Center.

"Yeah, I know right." I agreed. "We should go to Pokémon Center's to eat instead of some fancy restaurant that have food that are the size of a pebble." Jeremy and I bursted into laughter.

Once we settled down, I glanced up at the nearby clock and squinted my eyes to see the numbers better. It was almost ten o'clock in the morning.

"Hey, Luna," Jeremy said as I immediately turned my head towards him. "do you think we should get going? It probably might be a little while to the next town."

"Yeah, I think that'll be best." I responded, although, I did not know which town I would be heading to next. "Um...by any chance, do you know what town we are going to?"

He shook his head. Jeremy then glanced side to side and behind him. Suddenly, his eyes lit up brightly, and gave me a gesture to follow him. And so I did.

He ceased his voyage right at a map of the Hoenn region. Of course, how could I be so dumb? The large map had a handful of towns and cities. I noticed Rustboro City more brighter than the other towns on the map, signifying what area of the region someone is in.

"Okay, all we have to do is follow a path on Route 116, go through the Rusturf Tunnel, then we'll arrive in Verdanturf Town." Jeremy stated as he read the map.

"That sounds like a lot of walking," I mumbled sadly.

Apparently, he had heard the words that escaped my mouth and chuckled. I rolled my eyes at his childish nature and impatiently waited for him to calm down. Once he did, I glared at him, which caused him to sweat drop.

"Haha, okay, no more funny business," he said as he regained his seriousness. "Let's get going. Hopefully by the end of the day we can make it past at least halfway of Route 116. I've heard many wild Pokémon roam the path so it will be great for you to catch a Pokémon."

"That'll be great," I cheered. "Let's hurry."

Jeremy and I scampered to the door, until something stopped me from continuing. A sudden flash popped into my head.

"Jeremy," I hollered, making everyone turn their heads towards me. Maybe I should not have yelled that loud since Jeremy was directly right next to me. "I forgot to call my mom and the Professor! I promised Birch that I will call him the second I reached the Pokémon Center in Petalburg City, but I completely forgot. And I want to tell my mom that I got my first gym badge."

"Oh, how long will it take you?" Jeremy asked.

"I don't know....hopefully less than five minutes for each. I really want to starting catching new Pokémon to have for the rest of my journey." I blurted out in panic.

Continuing on my panicking spree, Jeremy grabbed my arm and dragged me all the way to the PC.

"Now, call Professor Birch first and tell him what happened, then call up your mother." he said as he walked to the lounging area in the building. "I'll be over here if you need me."

I finally calmed myself down, punched in the numbers to call up the Professor. A cyan light appeared with a Pokéball in the center of it. Suddenly, it faded and the gleaming face of Professor Birch materialized onto the screen.

"Hello, Luna," he said while waving slightly. "I see you are in Rustboro City now."

"How did you know that?" I asked, hoping he would not be upset that I did not call him beforehand.

"I can tell. I've been to Rustboro many times so I know how the Pokémon Center looks like." he stated with his usual smile.

"I'm deeply sorry that I didn't call you at Petalburg, I forgot." I apologized.

He chuckled. "It's alright. Anyways, did you challenge the gym yet?"

"Yep, and I received my first badge," I beamed with excitement.

"Congratulations," he cheered in pleasure. "hopefully you can get to the next town safely while catching new Pokémon. I wish you luck, Luna."

I smiled gratefully. "Thank you. I promise I'll call you on time the next time we speak."

"Haha it's fine. As long as I hear from you in a way, I won't be that concerned for you." he replied.

"Okay. Bye, Professor Birch." I said while waving. He returned a 'goodbye' then logged out from our conversation.

I placed my fingers onto the keyboard and called up my mother. From then on, we discussed for a few minutes about how my journey was going so far.

***

Once I finished talking to my mother, I walked back over to Jeremy and said, "I'm ready to go," He answered with a simple 'okay' and we set off.

I was extremely pleased that I finally obtain my first gym badge, although, I still have a long way to go. One down, seven more to go.

-----------------------------------------

Eh, sorry for not updating sooner. I was extremely busy and I wanted to get this chapter out last week but I couldn't. I am hoping that I can update more faster since I'll be finishing two of my fanfictions. But then I'll be making another and then I'll have four, and not five. Still a lot to write.

However, I do try to keep my pace when writing and sometimes, I'm a perfectionist. I have to write slowly and get every DETAIL in the passage.

Anywho, I'll try to update more frequently now. Many of my fanfictions are coming to an end so that will be much more easier for me to update them. Although, this one will be awhile till in ends because it covers all of Luna's journey. Hopefully, you'll stick with the story and not get rid of it even if it has slow updates.

Thank you!
