Chapter 14

Jeremy and I walked out of the Rustboro City Gym. Instantly, the sweet aroma of fresh air and nearby flowers filled my nose with delight. Inside the gym smelled like dust and non-fresh air, however out here, there was no dust and fresh air was surrounding us. Sadly, the impact of some battles left spots of dirt covering my clothes, especially my black leggings; that would be extremely noticeable right now once I walk down these streets.

I turned my head towards Jeremy, then asked, "Hey, can we head to the Pokémon center? I'd like to do some things there if you won't mind."

Jeremy nodded. "Sure. Most importantly though, we need to heal up Treecko and Kobe." That's right. Treecko fainted due to the tough battles between Nosepass and Graveler.

"Yeah," I replied, looking off to the side. Suddenly, I notice someone walk out of a blue building known as the Poké Mart. She seemed familiar somehow, but then it hit me. "Jeremy, look! It's Sabrina!"

Jeremy glanced through the distance, skimming his eyes around to find someone, but he had no luck. "Luna, I don't see anyone. Plus, I don't know who Sabrina is."

Embarrassment swept over me, causing me to become sluggish. I faced Jeremy while grinning awkwardly and placing my hand behind my head. "Whoops, I forgot to tell you. She's my rival. Sabrina and I were best friends when we were little, but she moved to another region one day. I saw her yesterday when she moved back t Littleroot and we headed towards the lab to pick out our Pokémon."

Jeremy chuckles slightly, then accepted my apology. I insisted that we head to the Pokémon Center to not only heal them from the gym battle, but to greet Sabrina. Jeremy agreed sympathetically, then began to approach the Pokémon Center.

After only a few minutes of walking the streets in the busy city, we arrived at the Pokémon Center. I noticed Sabrina was still outside, but now she was reapplying her make up with a small mirror that was clenched in her hand. Standing beside her, I didn't want to frighten her and make her mess up her lipstick, but peeking over her shoulder would also cause her to freak. Either way, I would be considered a stalker. However, I decided just to called her name, hoping that my intentions of her reaction would be false.

"Hey, Sabrina," I called out. She turned her mirror slightly towards the side. I saw my reflection in it, while she did the same. She closed the mirror and her lipstick, placed it in her bag, then faced me smiling.

"Hello, Luna," she replied, waving. I waved back as she continued to, but ceased so suddenly. Her eyes shifted upwards, then noticed someone behind me. "Who is that you're traveling with?"

I glanced behind me, then back at her. "That's Jeremy. We're both traveling the Hoenn region together."

"Oh, seems fun. I'm not traveling with anyone besides my Pokémon." she answered. "Hey, that reminds me. Are you here to battle Roxanne?"

Slightly laughing, I responded, "Actually, no. I just did to be honest with you. And I received my first Gym Badge."

Sabrina smiled. "Oh congratulations. I did too. That's why I was in the Pokémon Center; to heal my Pokémon. Well, I also fixed my clothing too because I got dirt stains all over me. How gross."

Before I could answer, Jeremy jumped in and answered for me. "Yeah, it was pretty dusty in there. Luna also got stains all over her too." I glimpsed downward, noticing the light brown stains that covered my black leggings.

"Yes, it's quite frustrating for me because this is a new outfit. I just washed it inside the center, and hopefully everything disappeared." Sabrina claimed, while fixing the back of her hair. "Anyways, Luna. Did you catch any new Pokémon?"

I sighed heavily. "No, sadly. I was trying to get a Poochyena, but it ran away from me. However, Jeremy did give me his old Eevee, Kobe. He said I could keep it."

"Ooh, an Eevee," she beamed happily. "I would love to have one. Are you planning on evolving it someday into a Flareon, Jolteon, or Vaporeon with an evolution stone? Or, having it evolve with an Ice Rock or a Mossy Rock? Or even just give it happiness during day or night and get an Umbreon or an Espeon?"

All of this evolution talk started to make me feel uncomfortable. I wasn't ready at all to loose Kobe and have him become a different Pokémon. Neither was I ready to have Treecko do the same thing. I don't approve of the idea of evolving Kobe by force is he doesn't want to. That is something we must decide together.

"No, I'm sorry Sabrina. I'm not ready to decide on an evolution for Kobe." I admitted. "That's something we must determine together."

"You really seem to care about the little guy," addressed Sabrina. "I would do the same thing if I had one. Forcing a Pokémon to evolve is wrong and that could cause harm to it; physically, mentally, and emotionally."

"Thanks for understanding," I said while smiling with gratitude.

"Oh, I completely forgot to tell you," Sabrina apologized, which caused her face to heat up. "I caught a Wurmple yesterday. I know you might be thinking that a Bug type Pokémon and a girl like me don't mix well, however, once it evolves I have a chance of getting a Beautifly for my contests that I'll perform in the near future!"

"Oh I've heard about that," Jeremy confessed. "In both the Sinnoh and the Hoenn region, people all around the region host competitions in certain towns and cities so they can have their Pokémon show off their skills. There are five contests for each Pokémon to compete in: Beauty, Cuteness, Toughness, Coolness, and Smartness. If you're Pokémon wins, you obtain a ribbon, and slowly you can become a master coordinator."

Astonishment filled me at first, however, it began to wash off once I realized it. "Oh that seems like fun. But, my dream isn't to become a Pokémon coordinator, it's to become a Pokémon Champion just like my father. Although, it wouldn't hurt to try it out once the time comes."

"I'd love to become a coordinator," Sabrina beamed with glee. "However, I still want to do gym battles once in awhile so I can attempt to make it into the Pokémon league. I'm sure I won't be the best like Luna, but maybe...with just a pinch more practice then I can do it."

Concluding her statement, Sabrina brushed the surface of her skirt, then positioned herself with a fine stance. "I hope to see you two someday. It's fun to bump into each other like this." Sabrina began to walk off the other direction we came it. Suddenly, she stopped and looked back. "Luna, one day we'll battle each other and see who's qualified to become a great Trainer. I wish you two the best of luck." With that, Sabrina walked off while gesturing one last wave.

Returning one back, I then shouted goodbye as she stepped forward into the sunset. I glanced back at Jeremy, who was also waving, then said, "We should get inside before it gets too dark." Jeremy nodded as we entered the center.

Once inside, I noticed a large table in the middle of the room. A young lady with pink hair that formed somewhat as a Marill's ears and was finished with a nurses hat that had a blue cross in the middle stood cheerfully behind the desk. Behind her were all sorts of machines that most likely helped her with her job. Despite that, the room was filled with comfortable chairs and sofas where multiple people relaxed and waited for their Pokémon to be healed. I was amazed since back at the Johto region, the Pokémon Center was completely different.

After returning from my thoughts, I approached the young lady with Jeremy. Once we stopped in front of the table, the young lady greeted us.

"Hello and welcome to Rustboro City's Pokémon Center. I'm Nurse Joy and I'll be glad to assist you today. What do you need?" Her sweet voice gave me a sense of reprieve that I was safe. She seemed to be a gentle woman that I was comfortable speaking to.

"Hi, I'm Luna. I'd like to heal up my Pokémon if you won't mind." I answered politely, while taking out two Pokéballs from my bag. I handed it over to Nurse Joy, which she gladly accepted them, then placed them in a machine behind her.

The machine light up multiple colors and beeped a few times. After a couple of moments, Nurse Joy grabbed the Pokéballs from the machine, then handed them back to me.

"All set. You're Pokémon are now happy and healthy as they were before."

"That's it?" I questioned myself. When I was in the Johto region for sometime, I remember that the nurse took the Pokéballs into the back room to heal them. It took several minutes, but this only wasted about a few seconds!

"Oh, our Pokémon Centers are starting to get advanced with technology. Now it only takes the matter of seconds to heal a Pokémon back to perfect health."

I was still left stunned, however, I ignored the feeling and looked back at the nurse.

"Is there anything else I can do for you two?" she asked while placing her hands gently onto the table.

"Actually, yes," Jeremy said. "We'd like to rent a room here for the night. Is there any chance that there is one available?"

Nurse joy thought for a moment, then turned around to face a computer. She began to type on the keyboard, then she faces us again.

"Yes, we have a few available. I'll get you two a room that would best fit your likings." Nurse Joy looked back at her computer, typed a bit more, then retired herself from behind the table. "Follow me," she concluded, then lead us up into a room.

***

Barely five minutes passed and we reached a room. Nurse Joy handed Jeremy the keys to the room.

"If you need anything, please call on the phone located inside the guest room," she addressed. "then I'll send help if something has transpired. Goodnight." Nurse Joy waved, then began to walk back to the desk to continue her duties.

"All right," Jeremy said. "let's get inside. I'm exhausted if you ask me."

"Yeah," I agreed. "it's been a long day." With that, Jeremy and I opened the door to our bedroom to rest for the night.

---------------------------------------------

Hello everyone! Yay, I managed to update in less than a month for once! It's really hard writing a Pokémon Fanfic because when you have to describe the concept of the scenario you must do it thoroughly. But that's my opinion because I love to describe things in my books.

I have the entire book finally planned and hopefully I can write more later today. I'm planning on updating this and another book today that I haven't in over a month. It's really hard keeping track of all of my fanfics, but hey, I'm a multitasker so yeah.

Anywho, hope you have a great day and I promise this book will be updated in no time! Bye!
