Chapter One

Yugi was walking back to his house, because school was now over. The loss of weight on his neck from the puzzle is strange but he got used to it. Kind of. But Yugi still had the urge to feel the weight of the puzzle it in class but only to find his shirt.

Yugi could tell his friends where worried about him. Joey would constantly come over to his house to make sure he was okay, along with Tristan. Téa would ask if him was okay additionally, but not as constantly.

Yugi walked up in front of the empty game shop and grab a key from my pocket. He swiftly unlock the door and walk in, then slamming the door behind him. he slip off his shoes and threw them by the door and then walked to his bedroom.

He tiredly drop his bag to the ground and craw onto his bed. Yugi hugged his pillow and let tear drops roll down his face. Two weeks. That's how long it's been since he left. For Yugi, it had been pure torture. When Yami left it was like a piece of his soul was ripped away from his very existence. Which truly, it was. He was the shadow to Yugi's ever glowing light.

Yugi herd footsteps echo through the hall. They stopped before his door with a knock. "Are you okay Yugi? May I come in?" Yugi heard his grandpa, Solomon ask. He quickly whip away my tears and called out a weak "yes"and Solomon walks into the room with a plate of food to replace the old one.

He stares disapprovingly at the old plate before setting the one down in his had on the nightstand. He looked at Yugi with his dulled out violet eyes due to age. He walks over to Yugi and hugs him. "Are you sure your okay?" He asks softly. Yugi hugged him back and replied. "Yes. I'll be fine grandpa." He let's go of him. "If your sure Yugi." He says while walking out.

In reality, Yugi was not okay. He probably would never be the same again. He most the one he held dearly to his heart and he almost disappeared in a flash, before Yugi could express anything.

Yugi vowed to himself that night that he would never look for love. If it stumbled upon him so be it. He would still hold Yami to a better height. No matter what.

Yugi poked around his food and just ignored it all together. He curled up on his side and cried. It wasn't uncommon for him to do these things which saddened the heart of the one who was watching him.

Yami stood at the corner of Yugi's room. He watched sadly as his aibou cried his heart away. He wanted to go over to Yugi and say everything was alright but he couldn't. Because in all reality, he was a ghost.

He still walked over to Yugi's crying from. He kissed him on the forehead with soft ghost like lips. Yugi stopped crying. This shocked Yami some. It was almost like Yugi could feel the reassurance behind the jester he shouldn't be able to see or feel.

Yami's heart ached to be with Yugi. Even though he never admitted it, he began to fall in love with his little light. The way he'd smile at him or be behind him all the way during his duels. Or how forgiving he was. He never hesitated to forgive him, even when he came back from the Orichalcos. Not once. That's what made him so, perfect.

Yami watched as Yugi's breathing evened out and he didn't utter a sound. He had fallen asleep. Yami began to walk away from his aibou. His heart begged him to stay but his mind told him to go to the afterlife. He simply walked away as an answer.

~~~Next Morning~~~
Yugi awoke to the sunlight touching his skin. One memory of last night was strange to him. It had felt like he had been kissed on the forehead and he felt the reassurance behind it. It had freaked him out a little but he found likable.
He stretched himself out and grabbed his school uniform and began to change. He brushed his crazy tri-colored hair and walked down the stairs. He greeted the day with a small smile and made himself breakfast.
While opening the fridge a small note fell off it. Yugi read this and frowned. Grandpa was in Egypt for an archeology dig that he forgot. Yugi understood and quickly ate his breakfast and ran out the door, making sure to lock it behind him.
