Chapter Five

I start to freak and put my hair over the Alien so they can't see it and open the door quickly. Buddy squirms at first but lets it slide after three seconds.

"Yes officers, how may I help you?" I ask scared out of my mind, I am trying to act as calm as possible. I hope that they can't sense that I am on edge.

They look me up and down as if I'm a suspicious character. Or as if they know something that I don't.

Do they know I have the Alien? Did someone at school see me leave with it and then called the cops on me? I sure hope not. I love the little guy. If he's leaving for experiments, I'm going too! I think as the cop starts talking.

"Yes, we're searching the area, and we searched your neighbors, and everything so don't think that we're just searching you. We're trying to make sure that the Alien that got out of containment this morning isn't secretly in your house planning on killing you tonight while you sleep." One of the cops says in a deep and unsettling voice. He has an ugly scar on the right side of his face and brown hair with cunning green eyes, he has tan skin, so he's had a lot of cases outside. The other is a lighter tan. He has blonde hair and brown eyes that look scared. He must be the new kid on his first real job. I kind of feel bad to be honest.

"Okay, I'm Scarlet," I say as I let them both inside of my house. They first walk into the kitchen and look at my uneaten or touched pizza sitting on my plate.

"Does someone else live here?" The more muscular cop asks me, his green eyes staring into my soul and eating it up.

"No, it's just me. I was about to eat that when you guys knocked on the door." I say rolling my eyes knowing that it's cold and I'm not going to want to eat it now. Of course, I regret it afterward because now I'm showing that I'm rude. I need to be more helpful to people who could lock me away.

"I'm sorry about that ma'am." The officer says smiling at me. I feel my entire body feel shivers go up my spine. But, in a good way actually.

"You're okay, you guys are just doing your job. It isn't your decision." I say smiling a weary smile back at him. He looks at me and then whispers something in the other cop's ears, and he nods and leaves the house and starts walking to my neighbor's house. I'm now left with the other police whose eyes are looking up and down of my body. I feel more shivers go up my spine as he does.

"So..." He says as he walks out of the kitchen and goes into the living room and starts inspecting everything. I feel like I'm being invaded. Like there's no place where there's privacy. If I didn't love the Alien I'm taking care of, then I would be more than happy there was a cop who was checking my house while silently flirting with me.

"So, what?" I ask a little confused about what he was going to say. He just kind of trailed off as he's looking all around my house for traces or any signs that an Alien could be in my house. I wonder what little signs he could see that would tell him the Alien is living in my house? From as much as I know about Buddy, he's really good at hiding, and little things aren't really that easy to see when you don't live there.

"So, I don't see any traces of an Alien in your house so far. Also, are you single?" He says making me blush. He's probably just two years older than me. He probably just got out of college a year or two ago by the looks of him.

"Well, yes I am. Are you?" I ask in a flirtatious way. I have the right to ask him the same question he asked me. It's a way to show him that I'm interested in him, or at least that's what movies have taught me.

"Yes, I'm single. I was just wondering because you're beautiful and doubted that you were." He says leaving the living room to inspect more of my house. I go and shut my bedroom door as I don't want him in there. He looks at me and smirks.

"Hiding something?" He asks me.

"No, I just haven't cleaned up in there not expecting the cops to come and flirt with me," I say annoyed. He looks at me, and his smirk falls as he goes elsewhere in my house. I watch him as he goes around the corner.

Then I open my door and rush to my bed and put the baby Alien down and then go out of my room and shut the door quietly. I then walk to where he was in my bathroom looking around.

I watch him as he tries to find evidence that the baby Alien was here. Even though the kitchen and the living room should've been where they found the evidence as I know, that's the only places of where he's been so far. I hope that he leaves soon. I'm starting to miss the warmth that Buddy gave my shoulder.

The cop after about an hour as he scoured my entire house. I gave up on following him but kept on eye on my room in case the cop wanted to sneak in there and take the baby Alien from me. The police comes into the living room and sits next to me on the couch.

"I didn't find any evidence that the Alien is here, so I'll tell the other cop that you're Alien free!" The cop says looking at me with an unconvincing smile.

"Okay, does that mean you'll finally leave my house?" I ask sarcastically, but then giggling at the end as while he was searching my house, I ended up eating my pizza and drinking an entire soda.

"Maybe." The cop says looking at me sexily. I look at him not wanting to give into his temptations that he's setting up for me. I start to think about actually telling him that I do like him a little but think of something else.

"Hmm, I'll let you stay if you tell me where you got that scar from," I say pointing to the one that's on the right side of his face.

"Well I'm not really going to tell you, but I'm a cop that works with Aliens. Does that explain?" He says not telling me exactly but what he told me that he was attacked by an Alien while he was on duty.

"What kind?" I ask curiously. I want to know if he deals with the Isolation Aliens. They're known to be the most violent creatures in the universe that's an animal.

"The worst kind, the kind that kills you just because you looked at them." The cop replies to me. I smile a little excited. I'm happy that I'll finally be able to talk to someone about Aliens that will probably have the same fascination with them as me. Since I was a child, I was in love with Aliens. I think it was because of my aunt, she's been an Alien tamer her whole life and she as thankfully the one who practically raised me.

"A full Isolation Alien with nothing mixed? They're just plain mean, no one has ever been able to tame them because of them being so bipolar. They'll love you one minute, and then later they hate your guts and kill you. I love those Aliens the most because of that. I feel like they're the most misunderstood ones. I'm in school because I want to be able to work with them. I feel like I know how they feel." I say looking at the cop who rolls his eyes at my knowledge.

"Yes, that one, I was told that it was a nice Water Alien, but it turned out to be that one. I wouldn't have gone if I knew it was an Isolation Alien-like that." The cop tells me in a single tone. I'm starting to feel a little sad. He got attacked by an Isolation Alien. An AI for short.

I start to get even more suspicious. I want to know how big it was and what it looked like up close and personal.

"How big was it?" I ask curiously as I've never been able to see one up close. Not many people are able to and live to tell the tale.

"Well, it was probably just as tall as the floor to your ceiling. It was huge, and its tail was about twelve feet long! If I didn't know they mostly base their lives on hearing and sight, I would've died. Its large tail is what gave me the scar." He says telling me more about his story.

"Oh, that sounds so dangerous!" I say all amazed. Just to think that he's probably the only person that's ever encountered an Isolation Alien and lived.

"Oh, it was, I was almost dead from the deadly poison its tail was able to inject into me. When I found the way out, I found the other cops. If I stayed a few minutes later, I could've and probably would've died. But I escaped before I did," He says acting all cool since he realizes that I like the fact that he's met one. He looks adorable trying to sound cool to me. It only amazes me at the fact that he's one of the rare people to encounter one of those things and survive. They usually hunt you down until they eat you. They're actually one of the only Aliens that will feast on human blood. Aliens like that tend to be alone and like to be alone.

"Well, I better get back to studying for the test I may randomly have," I say getting off the couch and opening the door for the cop to leave. He gets off the sofa angrily and then puts his hand in his pocket and gives me a paper with numbers on it.

"I'm Dave," says as he waits in the doorway for me to give him my number. I take a pen out of my shirt pocket and take his hand and write my number down in the center of his palm. He smiles as he leaves and I shut the door.

I put his number on the counter and start walking towards my room, and I look for the Alien. I look everywhere and can't find him! I begin to freak! I looked under the bed, in the closet, under the desk, and in the closet again! He isn't anywhere in my room. Is there some way that he escaped?

Where could he be?!
