"Mew!" said my mother in pain. She was hurting. Then suddenly, I was born. The oldest cat. When I was born, I saw my mom on a leafy-bed. She saw me, and then she licked me. I was happy to see her. I was different.

My name is Katherine. I have 3 younger brothers and 2 younger sisters. Their names are Cathiey, Jake, Zing, Davi, and Rose. Cathiey is 1 month, Rose is 2 months, Zing is 3 months, Davi is 4 months, and Jake is 5 months. I am really like my mom. She cares about them, I do, too. Whenever my mom goes out to find food, I am in charge.

I don't know if I'm good at this thing, I think I am.

Well, one day my mother went out to find food, so I took a little nap. But when I opened my eyes, I was at someplace I've never been. I could see my mother lying down on something. I was in a box type thing with my brothers and sisters. I told them to come closer to me. I was worried for my mother. I can't lose her, too. I lost my father in a fight with rats when I was 4 months old.

My father was a brave warrior. He was in a clan before he married my mother. My father had to leave the clan because he loved my mother. Well, back to my mother. My mother was in pain. I had no idea what was going on. For a second, I thought I was going to be a sister but when I heard the two-legs say something about my mother and their faces looked sad, I knew something was wrong.

I kept looking at my mother. Zing asked me if mother was okay, but I really didn't know the answer to that question. Then suddenly my mother stopped screaming. I looked at her. She wasn't breathing. I told myself it's not happening. She can't......She can't be dead. My brothers and sisters looked at me. I lowered my head down.

She was Dead.

I can't believe it. What am I going to do? I don't know what to do. I just lay there looking at my mother. My siblings lay closer to me.
