Chapter 4

After being caught, the lady took us to a security guard who kicked both of us out even though I didn't do anything.
Tabitha and I just walked on the sidewalk by the road. I was ignoring her as she tried to apologize for the millionth time. "I seriously didn't mean to, Zoe, honest." I didn't speak. "Come on, what's it gonna take for you to forgive me?"
I still kept quiet, Cleo and Dustin were trying to get a hold of me on my cell phone, but the connection was bad outside. Eventually Tabitha gave up on trying to win my forgiveness, and we came across an old convenience store that looked like it gad been there for decades, with a telephone booth in the parking lot. Finally, some luck!
Now I could call my father to drive us home, even though Tabitha really doesn't deserve it.
Seriously, I could just leave her stranded there if I wanted to, but I couldn't.
"I'll go call my dad in the phone booth to pick us up, you stay next to me and stay out of trouble", I explained, like a mature adult. "Alright, at least you're finally saying something to me, and hey, I'll just be a minute okay. I've got to pick up something in there", she said. I gave her a suspicious look. Why would she want to go in there all of a sudden?
I sighed, "Fine, but be quick, ok?" She winked at me, "Got it." I just rolled my eyes and went to the phone booth while she went in the store. It was hard to see the numbers to dial when it was so dark out, and I had to call a couple of times without an answer. I was so stressed and tired out that I just stood in there with the phone in my hand, and banged my head against the glass continuously.
When I stopped a minute or two later, I tried calling home again.
I stood there waiting, breathing heavily, twirling the phone cord in my fingers, and praying my dad would answer. It started raining. I heard thunder in the clouds. I tried several more calls, and several minutes passed by, then I realized that Tabitha still hadn't come out of the store. I finally put the phone down and the next thing I knew, I heard a loud siren from a police car that had just came over and parked itself in front of the store.
This can't be good, I thought.
Then, two police men came out of the car and entered the store, they came out seconds later with Tabitha in hand cuffs. I couldn't believe my eyes. What could have possibly happened in there?
There was no time for questions as I was already running to stop them, but the last thing I remember after that is a loud thunderstruck and a large bolt of lightning striking my body. Tabitha screamed my name in panic, and I fell to the ground....

Dreaming was the first thing that came to my mind when I woke up. It was all one bad dream, or so u thought. I could barely open my eyes as my vision blurred. I could faintly hear voices in the background as I tried to sit up. Then when I could see everything clearly, I realized that I was in a hospital bed.
"I think she's waking up", I heard someone say. I felt groggy and confused, not to mention in pain. "Where am I? Where's Tabitha? Where is everyone? I wanna go home right now!" I was really starting to lose it as I was shaking as if it was an artic in there, and holding my head in my hands, swinging it up and down until someone (who was probably a nurse) stopped me and gave me a glass of water. Then everyone who was in the room decided to give me some alone time and left the room.
I looked around in confusion and fear, hoping someone I knew would show up and tell me what was going on.
The tension was rising in my system again and I couldn't take it. I passed out.
