Amaya’s POV

My palms were sweaty, my heart starting to speed up, my mind was racing, how was I going to get out of this one?

“I’m going to remove my hand do not make a sound.” He did as he said and I kept my mouth shut, the guy then turned me so I was facing him.

I was more than a little surprised when I saw that it was none other than the older Uchiha brother. “What are you doing here?”

“I came to check up on you, it was obvious that you would come to see my younger brother.” What am I a little girl that needs supervision?

“Hm and why would I need to be checked up on?” “Word gets by fast, the Akatsuki is aware of what happened at your home.”

I burrowed my eyebrows, so it wasn’t them? Then I guess Auntie Kushina’s theory about it being them was inaccurate.

“So it wasn’t you guys sending me a hit man to test my abilities or anything?” he shifted his gaze away before looking back at me.

“No, we would have done that after about a week of you being with us, and it would have been one of the Akatsuki members to test your abilities, but it wasn’t us this time, but the reason I came here is not to tell you this.”

“Leader sent me to bring you back the Akatsuki, you will be staying with us until we figure out who is after you and why no exceptions.”

I clenched my jaw, who the fuck is after me and why, those are both good questions and its quite surprising even the Akatsuki don’t know why.

“Alright I’ll go with you, but first let me explain to my family what’s going on and get my stuff from home, deal?”

“You have an hour, I’ll be coming for you then you better be prepared.” With that he finally let go of my waist and pushed me to the door.

“Do not let Sasuke know that I’m here.” With a nod of the head I stepped out of the bathroom and my face bumped into someone’s chest.

What the deal with me being pulled to a man’s body today?

It was obviously Sasuke. “Was there anybody there, you were there for quite some time.” I put my hand on his shoulders and distanced my face from his chest.

“No I looked through the whole bathroom they probably left before I could do anything.” He gave me a suspicious look which I chose to ignore.

“Besides what I was doing in there doesn’t matter it’s over, so you should be getting back to bed.”  I said then proceeded to drag him to his bed and push him on it.

“It’s because of me that you got shot, so if got hurt again because of me I wouldn’t be able to live with the guilt.”

I just finished putting the blanket over him when I finished talking, he turned his head so that he was facing me and replied.

“It was my choice to take the bullet so you shouldn’t worry yourself about being guilty.” I gave him an annoyed look and crossed my arms over my chest.

“And that’s another thing I wanted to talk about, how did you know that there was a bullet aimed for my head?”

“You’re not the only one experienced with weaponry.” I just huffed, and looked away. “Whatever, that’s all I had to ask so I’ll be taking my leave.”

“Wait.” Sasuke said as he reached out and grasped my wrist with his hand, I looked back giving a curios look “What is it?” 

“Were friends, and because of that not only me but everyone else as well would gladly risk our life for you, because we know you would as well.”

I was stunned, but he wasn’t done yet, “So don’t worry about the person who’s after you we got your back.”

I was at a lost at words who knew Sasuke was protective over his friends, so I just gave a nod, he then let go of my wrist and I walked out of his room.

“So how is he?” I jumped in surprise, Sakura was standing in front of me, worry clear on her face. “Sakura you scared the living hell out of me!”

“Sorry, I’m just really-” “Worried?” I cut her off, she blinked a few times before responding. “Yes I’m worried.”

“Is it because he’s your friend or because you love him?” Sakura was taken aback by my question but once she composed herself she blushed deep red.”

“I-I don’t know what you’re talking about! Of course I’m worried about him, I mean we are friends and I’ve known him for so long I can’t help but worry!”

She babbled on trying to explain herself I just nodded my head, “Sakura you don’t have to explain yourself, it’s your feelings it should matter what others think about them.”

Her face seemed to relax and soften a bit. “I have always cared deeply for Sasuke even back when you were here in japan.”

She laughed a bit before talking again. “I was even one of those fan girls he despises so much, I still kind of am…”

I gave her a caring look before replying. “So that’s in the past and even if you are a fan girl you’re my friend I won’t abandon you.”

She looked up at me and smiled pushing back the tears threating to spill over her now rosy red cheeks, “I really envy you Amaya.”

“And why is that?” I asked not sure why the pinkette would have those feeling towards me, she rubbed her eyes and then looked at me.

“Well you’re a really good friend, you can cook, your world famous, you’re considerate, kind, and have uh, a great body.” She blushed at that last statement.

I put my hands on her shoulders and made her face me, “Sakura you should be jealous, and you’re perfect just the way you are. Besides half of the time a crazy like Naruto.”

Her piercing green eyes looked at my violet ones, clouded with doubt and uncertainty. “Really?” I gave her shoulders a squeeze and gave her an Uzumaki grin.

“Really, really, no go check on Sasuke there’s a line and I would hate to keep everyone waiting.” She nodded and gave me a surprise hug.

“Thank you…” I smiled and hugged her back, we soon let so and she stepped into Sasuke’s room while I walked to the waiting room.

When I got there I decided it was now or never to break it to my relatives about staying with the Akatsuki.

“ABSOLOUTLY NOT!” My Auntie Kushina and Naruto yelled at the same time both crossing their arms to form an X.

“It’s bad enough you have to join them and train with them, but now you want to live with them? This is where I’m putting my foot down young lady no means no!”

Kushina had never been so distressed in her life, she had no idea what was running through my head when I told them I was going to the Akatsuki.

Same goes for Naruto. “Not happening! I’m not about to let the Akatsuki get away with taking my cousin!”

“I have no choice in the matter.” I tried reasoning with them but they would just cut me off and start to rant.

“I won’t let the Akatsuki take you! Even if it’s for your safety it doesn’t matter it’s my job to protect you!”

Naruto yelled grabbing my shoulders and clenching them with his hands, his hair was covering his eyes and he was shaking.

 “Please Amaya, I know I haven’t been doing a good job at protecting you, hell Sasuke’s doing a better job at that then me!”

“But I won’t…” his gazed snapped up and started at me with those amazing blue eyes of his glazed over with tears, and he yelled.

“I WONT LET THE AKATSUKI PROTECT YOU! THERES NO WAY IN HELL ID EVER LET THAT HAPPEN!” he let it all out and he began to cry.

I then took him in my arms and embraced him. “It’s okay Naruto, that won’t happen I promise you…” and how was I going to do that?

I had no fucking clue.

~*Time skip*~

After everyone got a chance to see or talk to Sasuke we all headed home, I was ready to hit the sack today was a very tiresome day compared to the others I’ve had so far.

It was a bit past one in the morning when we got to our home and I was a bit surprised to see Itachi there.

Shit I forgot all about him what am I going to do? We all got off and Itachi came up to me with what seemed to look like a suitcase of mine.

“I took the liberty of making the maids pack for you, let’s go.” Naruto took a step in front of me as to block him from me.

“She’s not going anywhere.” Itachi gave Naruto a menacing glare but he didn’t back down. “This is Akatsuki business, stay out of it.”

“This is my family, so it is my business!” Naruto growled taking a protective stance Itachi started to move as if he was going to fight but I interrupted them.

“Itachi Naruto is going with me, it’s either that or I’m not going at all.” Naruto was surprised at what a said but he then grinned and faced Itachi again.

“Yeah what she said!” Itachi shifted his gaze to me but I didn’t back down either. “When we get there you’re going to have to explain to leader.”

“Then that’s exactly what I’m going to do.” He gave us both one last look before turning around and walking.

“See I told you the problem would fix itself.” Uncle Minato said wrapping him arm around Auntie Kushina who in my eyes, still looked modified that we were both going to the Akatsuki.

“It’s alright mom! I’ll take good care of Amaya, so don’t sweat it!” Naruto exclaimed giving a thumbs up to his mom.

I nodded and wrapped my arm around Naruto’s shoulder, “and if you still worried I’ll look out for Naruto to, knowing how dumb he can be hell defiantly need it.”

Kushina sighed and put her hand on her face, like any good parent she was worried for her children. But she knew there was no way around it.

“You better keep your words or you’ll both get it!” she exclaimed her hair flying up and giving us a threatening look.

We both agreed and started to walk after Itachi, he was already leaning against his ride but when he saw us he went into a, (Ironically) a Lamborghini just like Sasuke’s.

 The difference was Itachi’s was Black and red with a cloud on it, and the style of it was a bit different as too.

Naruto and I waved goodbye to Auntie Kushina and uncle Minato as we got inside, Naruto opened the door for me and I sat up front he sat at the back again.

As soon as all of us were inside Itachi hit the gas and we drove of we rode in silence none of us bothering to speak up because it was awkward.

(Well for me and Naruto anyway Itachi isn’t that social and everyone knows.) When Itachi stopped driving and parked his ride, I thought we had reached there hideout.

I was wrong we were parked besides the road in the middle of the woods outside the city. “Get out.” Itachi commanded.

We both did as we were told and got out of the fancy car, when we did Naruto stood in front me and pushed my back to the Lamborghini.

Itachi stood directly across from us hands in his pockets.

“What’s going on? Are you going to jump us or something?!” Naruto yelled glaring daggers at Itachi, who in return looked unfazed.

“I wouldn’t ever resort to such petty tactics, the reason you’re here is to talk to Leader and give him your request.”

Naruto lowered his stance but he still took notice of his surroundings not letting his guard down for a second. “Hm.” Was as all he said, great he’s becoming like Sasuke.

We didn’t have to wait long because after a few minutes a grey and red Ferrari showed up and parked in front of us.

The door opened and I was astounded when I saw Pein step out of the driver’s side, Konan also stepped out on the passenger side.

Now that I think about it she’s always by Pein’s side, I’ll have to ask her about it later. I thought to myself while keeping my eyes on their approaching figures.

Itachi stepped back and was behind both Pein and Konan, they stopped walking and they stood directly across from Naruto and me.

“What is it that you want boy.” Pein’s cold voice rang out in the dark night Naruto didn’t even flinch or show any sign of fear.

He stood tall and had a look of determination on his face, “I wanted to go with Amaya to the Akat-” “Request denied.”

Pein cut him off not bothering to hear him out, Naruto clenched his face and glared at him. “But you didn’t even hear what I had to say!”

Pein’s cold demeanor stayed the same as coolly replied. “You wanted to ask me to allow you to be with Amaya while she’s with us, correct.”

“Y-Yeah.” Naruto answered his voice wavering a bit Pein quickly replied. “Like I said before, that request will be denied.”

Naruto just got frustrated. “And why is that?!” he yelled glaring daggers at the leader, Pein didn’t even seem faze by Naruto’s yelling.

“I will not allow anyone to be in our hideout besides Akatsuki members what makes you think that you’re the exception?”

Pein asked giving Naruto a piercing glare. “Amaya is my family, that’s reason enough it’s my job to protect her not yours!”

I grabbed his hand and pulled him back, I didn’t want him to do anything he would regret later. Sadly luck wasn’t on my side today.

“I’ll fight you if I have to! Anything for Amaya!” Fucking Naruto why do have to care so much it’s going to get you into trouble.

Pein started to walk closer to Naruto to the point that he was looking down at the blonde. “Is that so?” Pein asked in threatening voice.

Naruto stood his ground and squeezed my hand he looked back up at pain and confidently answered. “Yes.”

As soon as those words escaped his lips Pein picked up Naruto by the collar like he was a rag doll, my grasp on his hand broke and I just stood there reaching out to him.

Naruto barely had time to react because as fast as he was picked up Pein threw him down on the ground.

“Ack!” Naruto squeaked in pain from the impact Pein didn’t even give him a chance to recover and fight back because he then started to punch him.

First he punched him in the stomach, it must have been a hard punch because blood spurted out of Naruto’s mouth when he did.

Pein then started to attack his face and that’s when I had enough, he might be my ‘Leader’ but nobody messes with my family and gets away from it.

I was about to help Naruto when Konan flashed to my side and pushed me back, “I’m sorry but I can’t allow you to interfere.”

I started to struggle with her and I almost got out of her grasp when Itachi came in and pulled my back against him.

“L-Let me go! Naruto’s getting hurt I have to help him!” I screamed fighting against him now but he was stronger than me.

Everything I had previously about escaping someone grasp escaped my all that was on my mind was getting to Naruto.

Itachi brought his mouth to my ear and spoke, “This is what he wanted, he dug his own grave and now he’s paying for it.”

I growled and cranked my neck to the side so that I was face to face with Itachi. “Just because you abandoned you family doesn’t mean id do the same.”

I seethed giving Itachi a disgusted look, usually I wouldn’t act this way he hasn’t done anything to me so who am I to judge.

But right now he was in my way and I’m lashing my hostility at him since he was preventing me from my goal.

I must have hit a soft spot because Itachi was silent for a moment before glaring at me and tightening his grip around me.

“It doesn’t matter what you say you’re going to stay put and watch.” I just kept on struggling and tried harder when I saw the scene just ahead of me.

Pein was holding a bloody and bruised Naruto by his neck and cutting of his only source of breathing. My eyes widened and I clenched my fists.

 Pein looked like he was going to kill Naruto. The thought not only enraged me to the point that I felt nothing but loathing and bitterness for Pein but I also felt great grief and anguish.

“This is the end for you.” Pein said as he was about to finish squeezing the life out of Naruto, I panicked and I closed my eyes and yelled at the top of my lungs in despair, tears rolling down my cheeks in streams.

 “NARUTO!”
