Sunday was fairly lazy, until we had to leave to meet up with Flare and Grounder. I put my contacts in this time, leaving my glasses in my room at home. Pearl was wearing a light purple vest with a hood, and shorts. She had a crop top on underneath. It was weird, since I had never seen her actually wear such revealing clothes. She almost always tried to cover as much skin as possible.
So yeah, seeing her in a vest, crop top, and shorts was strange.
We met Flare and Grounder up on the rooftop, and discussed where to search this time.
"I was thinking underground," Flare said, "it's a perfect place to hide a prisoner."
"That's too obvious," I said, "and besides, Seishin practically lives underground, he's king of the dead."
"And the living, and the in-between," Pearl added, "but that's besides the point. Streak is right, underground is Seishin's homeland, just like it is Shizen's. It's too obvious, and nobody would be dumb enough to do that."
"Flare might, but whatever you say." I said. She elbowed me.
"Okay, so where do we search?" Grounder asked, completely ignoring my comment.
"I think we should visit the pegasus I met last time, and talk to him." Pearl stated, and Flare sighed.
"For the last time, pegasi don't talk!" He exclaimed grumpily, crossing his arms and glaring at Pearl, which was funny because she's actually a couple inches taller than him.
"And for the last time, all animals talk! You just don't speak Horse!" Pearl retorted, crossing her arms. Grounder went over and pushed them apart.
"Hey, calm down you two! I think you're right Miss, we should talk to the pegasus. Flare, I know you can't understand animals, but please try to be reasonable..." he trailed off, and Flare sighed, stepping back.
"I still think this is stupid," he declared.
"That's nice," I responded, picking up Pearl and hovering above the ground, "are you two coming or not?"
They grabbed onto my feet, and I took off.
"Geez, what have you two been eating?" I demanded, landing on a cloud, "Holy shit, you're heavy."
"Maybe it's just your lack of physical strength," Flare retorted. Grounder elbowed him.
"First of all, I have plenty of physical strength, thank you. Second, I don't need to be physically strong to kick your ass, and it's going to happen if you don't shut the f-"
Pearl covered my mouth, giving me an unimpressed look.
"What Streak is saying, is that you need to give the taunting a rest. We're a team now whether you like it or not, so you two need to start getting along. That goes for you to Streak," she glared at me, uncovering my mouth. I sighed, and nodded.
"Alright, let's go find this pegasus." Grounder stated, smiling. Then he and Pearl started walking, leaving Flare and I to follow.
As it turns out, Pearl and Grounder's idea of 'making us work together' was to put me and Flare on guard duty outside while they went in to talk to the pegasus, whose name is apparently Billy.
Flare is terrible company by the way, every time I try to start a friendly conversation he ignores me or yells at me to 'be quiet villain!'
He's starting to get on my nerves again.
"So-"
"Shut up, I don't converse with villains."
"Geez, I'm just trying to make friendly conversation. Is it really that hard to try and get along with me?" I demanded, crossing my left leg over my right.
"I don't know, is it really that hard for you to be quiet?" He retorted, crossing his arms and glaring at me. I sighed, leaning my left elbow on my knee and resting my head in my hand.
"Y'know, maybe you should try and get to know people before making judgment," I suggested, "you just might be surprised."
"Surprised by what? How much you hate us and want to kill us?" He demanded.
"That's unfair," I crossed my arms and glared at him.
"Murder isn't fair." He retorted.
This guy is seriously pushing my buttons. I took a deep breath, gritting my teeth.
Don't kill him, don't kill him, Pearl will kill you if you kill him, don't kill him...
"Maybe you should also stop assuming things," I grumbled.
"It's not assumption if I know it's true," he responded, shooting me a glare. I sighed, and turned to face him.
"Are you trying to make me throw something at you?" I demanded, "Because you are seriously making it hard for me to get along with you."
"Is that a threat?" He demanded, standing up.
I stood up, "Maybe it is."
Flames started flickering around him, and wind started to swirl around me. I drew a knife from my pocket, and he made a fist.
"That is enough, you two!" We both were suddenly doused with water, and I blinked. Pearl was glaring at us, and Grounder was sighing, standing next to her. A brown pegasus was peeking out from behind the two.
"For God's sake, are you two capable of getting along?!" Pearl demanded, crossing her arms. Small droplets of water swirled around her.
"At least I'm actually trying!" I argued. She sprayed me with water again.
"Pulling a knife out is not trying to get along!" She retorted.
"Flare, we talked about this..." Grounder sighed, walking up to his friend.
"I told you, I absolutely refuse to become friends with a villian!" Flare retorted.
"And I told you, maybe you should get to know people before judging them!" I snapped at Flare, shoving my knife back into its pocket.
"And be surprised by what?! How much you and your friend here actually want to kill us?! Well-"
I cut him off by grabbing him by the collar of his top, and pulling him down so he was eye-to-eye with me.
"Do. Not, bring Pearl into this. She has absolutely nothing to do with my actions or motivations," I hissed, seething.
A blatant lie, but I don't appreciate it when people insult my sister, and I don't take kindly to people assuming she's a murderer.
I let go of his shirt, and he backed up, startled.
"We're done here," I growled, turning away. I heard Pearl sigh, before apologizing to Grounder, and following me.
"Hold on, how the hell are we supposed to get down?!" Flare exclaimed.
"You can't just pull that after yelling at her, dude what the hell?!" Grounder exclaimed. I flipped them both off, and grabbed Pearl's hand, jumping through the clouds, and settling into a steady glide down.
"You know we can't just leave them there," Pearl said quietly, looking up at me.
"I know," I replied, "I'll go back for them, I just need to calm down."
She nodded in response.
