I skid to a stop in front of Sonic's house. Venice came to a stop next to me, he had powers like Silver, so he flew using his psychokinesis.
"I win!" I exclaimed, jumping up and down. Venice laughed at my childish behavior as Sonic walked out.
"There you are, the- Venice? What are you doing here?" His voice had a slight edge to it, which is odd for the happy-go-lucky hero.
Venice turned to him with a cocked smile. "Zara here invited me."
I nod. "Yup! And we had a race on the way back, I won!" I cheered.
Venice chuckled. "I'll say one thing, she sure would give you a run for your money, Sonic. She's moving faster than you boys."
I stopped laughing for a second. "Faster than you boys.... That's it! Sonic I know what song I want to sing!"
Sonic tilted his head. "Oh?" I nod and run inside, finding that Sonia, Manic, and Amy have arrived.
"Hey Sonia, Manic, I know what song. Do you think you can learn it before the party starts?" Please tell me they can, otherwise I'm not gonna be able to sing.
"We sure can." Sonic walked up from behind. "The party starts in about half an hour so it'll be a tight fit. But I think we can do it." He winked at me and gave a thumbs up.
I squeal in excitement. "Great!"
Haven chuckled. "You looking forward to singing?"
"Actually, yes. I'm both nervous and excited all at the same time." I laughed. "In any case, let's get started!"

"Oh boy....." I sweat drop at the sight of the many people that came. Sonic walked over to me wearing a smile.
"Hey Zara! You ready to sing?" He asked.
"Well... Er... I guess..." I mumbled.
Sonic tipped his head to the side. "What's the matter?"
"I didn't realize how many people that was going to show and...." I look out at the crowd, most were dancing to the pop music that Tails was playing, him being the DJ. Others were off to the side talking and eating. All but Shadow, who was leaned up against the wall in the far back by himself. Surprise.

"Yeah, there are quite a few here. But I know you'll rock this. Have faith in yourself Zara, your better than you think." Sonic gave me a cute smile, making my cheeks heat up a little.

"If you say so...." I mumble as the blue blur walked over to Tails.

Someone tapped me on the shoulder and I turn to see Venice behind me. "Hey, I just wanted to wish you luck before you go on." He said.

I smile. "Thanks Venice, I'll need it." A soft sigh escaped my lips.

"I wouldn't worry about it. I bet your fantastic singer." Venice smiled brightly, making my face heat up a bit. "Anyway, I just wanted to wish you luck." As the words leave his mouth, Sonic picked up a microphone.

"Alright guys, who's having fun?" Everyone, but Shadow, let out a whoop in response. "Great! Now we have a treat for you all, and I'm more than sure your going to like it. We have Zara coming up here to sing for us!" Everyone clapped and shouted as I walked onto the stage with a nervous smile. Sonic put the mic on the stand and gave me a look. "You ready?"

I take a deep breath and nod. "As much as I'll ever be."

"Okay, now lets get this show on the road! Stage is all yours Zara." Sonic jumped down, off the stage and walked over to Haven and Silver. I look out at the crowd, the butterflies in my stomach grow larger as my heart beat picks up a little.

"Um... Hi, I'm Zara and um...." I bite my lip. "I-I'm going to sing a song called 'Faster Than Boyz." I look over at Manic who was playing the drums, and nod. He clicked his drumsticks together three times before he and Sonia started to play the beginning beat. When my time came to sing, I closed my eyes.
"Can I have a map? I'm getting lost in your eyes

So much hair-gel was applied to your head"

No one said anything or made a noise as my thin lips part, the next lyrics floating out.

The beat really started to pick up. Manic hit his drums and I couldn't help but smile, my eyes opening.

The song came to an end, everyone clapped, a few whistled as I got off stage. Sonic quickly walked over, followed by Haven and Silver. "That was amazing!" Silver chirped.
"You kidding, that was way past cool!" Sonic jumped up, fist bumping the air.
My face heated up as I smile. "Thanks, I have to admit, it was really fun." I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned to see Veince standing there.
He flashed me a smile. "That was very good, Zara. That song fits you." My face warmed up a little, but the others around me wasn't too happy to see the Silver look-alike.

"Great, its you." Silver growled at Veince.

"Hello, Silver, it's been a while." The silver hedgehog's glare at each other, making me a little fidgety. Am I missing something?

The tension in the air was so thick you could slice it and serve it on a platter. So I stepped in. "Uh, in any case, let's all enjoy the rest of the party? I mean, no need to let this all go to waist." I motion to the party and the people around us.

Sonic nods, his eyes still narrow. "Yeah, let's dance." He locked arms with me. "But first I'd like to talk to you, alone." Confused, I give him a swift nod, allowing him to pull me outside the house. Once the door closed, Sonic turned to me, face showing nothing but seriousness.
"Zara, I don't think its a good idea to be around him."

"Who? Veince?" I cocked my head to the side, giving him a perplexed look. "Why? He's a nice guy."

The azure hedgehog shook his head, his quills bouncing with the action. "No, he's anything but good news. Trust me, he'll just find a way to use you for revenge against Silver."

"Revenge on Silver? What do you mean?"

He looks around, taking my hand. "This isn't all that good place to talk, lets go to the forest." I give him a puzzled nod and we took off, arriving in the dense forest in seconds. Sonic sits on a fallen log, patting the empty area next to me. "C'mon... Let me tell you..."

I sit next to him, the hero took a breath before beginning. "Now, I'll be honest, I wasn't there when it happened. I didn't even know Silver at the time. But..." He bit his lip. "Veince hates Silver, only for the fact that they look alike and-"

"Wait wait wait, back up. ONLY because they look similar?" I cut in. "That's a half-baked reason if you ask me."

"I know, but that's not all. Silver is known as a hero like me, even Shadow. So everyone mistakes Veince for Silver. Sometimes, Veince will let them believe he's actually Silver just so he could ruin Silver's reputation. At first, I didn't believe Silv when he told me. Not because I didn't trust him, but because I was so gullible to believe in the lies Veince told me. Such as apologies he made when I was around, or the promises he made to never do it again. But in the end, I learned what Veince was really up to, and it was my fault that I let it happen..." Sonic's ears fell as he started at the leafy ground.

I frown, something seemed off to me. "What did he plan?"

"He..." Sonic sighed heavily, whispering it into my ear.

My eyes widen and I sprang to my feet. "He tried to kill Silver?!"
