Chapter 1: Be Careful What You Wish For

"You're WHAT!?!?!?!" I exclaimed. My mother sat on the couch in front of me, watching TV.
"I'm putting you up for adoption. I don't want to deal with such a wretched brat." My mom's voice was cold. I shook my head, causing my light brown hair to fall in my face.
"You don't care... You never cared and now you're just throwing me away? Like garbage?!" I screamed at her in anger and hurt. "You would love if I just die wouldn't you?!" Before she could say anything I ran out the door, into the streets. My heart ached as I walked farther and farther from the town I call home. Mom's putting me up for adoption, so she won't care if I disappeared. But none the less, I know I would walk back into that house once it got dark. I always do. I can never bring myself to run away.
I stop walking once I entered the trees of the park. Anytime I ran away, this is as far as I would get before turning back. My crystal blue eyes grew blurry as tears slide down my cheeks.
"I wish things would change." I sat down underneath a willow tree and cry. I don't know how much time had passed before I hear a loud BOOM!
"What was that?!" I wipe my face, ridding it of tears as another boom sounded. It was coming from the outskirts of the town, it was close by. I ran to the sound until I come to a complete standstill. What I saw amazed me.
Three, rather tall, hedgehogs stood in front of a large blue and white robot with drills for hands. A large cannon on the back of the robot smoked.
"Give it up Egghead!" The blue hedgehog yelled at the large man in the robot.
"Never! I will not lose to you again, Sonic. Or to your little friends!" The man yelled.
"You will..... always lose Eggman... Evil will never prevail!" The limestone silver hedgehog was breathing heavily.
"We better wrap this up" The final hedgehog, black with red stripes, growled.
"I agree." The man laughed wickedly as the cannon charged. "Say goodnight hedgehogs!" The cannon fired at the blue one.
"Look out!" I pushed him out of the way, taking the blast instead. Pain shot though my body as I hit the ground.
"Are you ok!?" The blue hedgehog was at my side now, worry clouded his emerald green eyes. I tried to say something but no words came. My vision blurred completely to where I couldn't see anything at all, but merged colors.
"Chaos control!" Three voices called out in the quiet.
The final words I would hear, before darkness settled in me and took over completely.
