Day 19
Three hours later,
I feel like a different girl stepping out of an aeroplane, compared to the girl who stepped on one just two weeks ago. We soon arrived back at my house, and it was weird to be home again. I unpacked my things and then headed downstairs. There's still one week left of the summer holidays, so Harrison, Brandon, Harriet, Alex and I are planning on going camping somewhere in Norfolk.
As I walked downstairs, my phone began to ring, and I pulled it out of my pocket. It was Brandon. "Molly? Can you come to my house? The others are already here. It's important."
"Okay," worriedly, I put my phone back in my pocket, and ran all the way to Brandon's house.
"What?" I asked, taking in the disgusted expressions of Harrison and Brandon. Slipping my hand into Harrison's I sat in between the two of them. Then my eyes slid over to Harriet and Alex. They were sitting on the sofa opposite, holding hands. Oh.. Clearly my friends don't understand what the word important means, but still!! Honestly, Harriet and Alex never stop arguing and now they're a couple?! "Harriet, you have such bad taste in guys! First Harrison and now Alex?" Brandon teased, nudging Alex.
"Hey!" Harrison, Harriet, Alex and I all chorused.
Six days later,
It was the last night of the summer holidays, and we were around Harriet's house for a massive five-person sleepover. There's something special about Harriet's house, and, over the years I've been going there, it's still the same. Her parents are really laid back, so that's how we come to have the biggest water fight in human existence, in the garden. At midnight.
Thankfully Harriet's house is down a road, where nobody else lives, otherwise the neighbours would have been mightily annoyed with us. We ran outside, using hoses and buckets, flinging water over each other, music from the house playing in the distance. It was like one of those crazy moments that you'll never forget.
Harrison and I found each other underneath the shower of rain and the constant squeals, we fell together, kissing like there was no tomorrow. When we broke apart, he said, "Oh and did you hear the news? Brandon's family are moving to Scotland because they want a change of scene."
"Wait what? When?" my head was spinning, my blood cold.
"In a week," Harrison answered, pulling me for another kiss. No. No.
I guess the changes are happening quicker than I thought. What happened to a new school together? I'll miss him so much, we've gotten really close again, but I guess we'd all better make the most of the next week then.
I brush those thoughts aside, as Brandon himself, pulls me over to where all my friends are dancing, yelling laughing. The night went on, and my laughter rose higher, our voices drifting off into the night sky. Over the roofs of houses, a golden sunrise appears, and I look over to Harrison. We started this with a sunset, and it might just end with a sunrise...
