"Vati?

Forkert opened his eyes, squinting to see in the dark.

"Lili?" He asked quietly, sitting up. "What's wrong? It's late." He noted, glancing at his clock.

2:00 am.

"I had a nightmare." The little girl whispered, crawling up next to her father, snuggling up to him.

Forkert wrapped his arms around his daughter protectively, pulling her closer.

"What was it about?" Forkert asked Lili.

"I dreamed of what would have happened if Big Brother didn't find me. It was scary."

"Well, it's a good thing Basch found you, isn't it?" Forkert smiled comfortingly at Lili.

Lili nodded, giggling.

"Ja! It is!"

Forkert kissed the top of Lili's head.

"You shouldn't worry about what might have happened sweetie. That nightmare was nothing."

Lili nods, smiling. She curled up, yawning, falling asleep in her father's arms.

"Ich liebe dich." Forkert whispered to his sleeping daughter.
