Queen's English vs. American English (Short Story)

Alfred stared blankly at the whiteboard in English class. Sadly for him, the English teacher was none other than his own father, Arthur Kirkland. Alfred groaned, a little too loudly.

Arthur rose an eyebrow at his son. "Is there something you would like to share with the class Alfred?"

"Yes, actually," Alfred replied. "The fact that you're teaching the Queen's English opposed to, well, normal English."

"The Queen's English is normal English," Arthur corrected, "You American's are the ones who twisted English all around, morphing it into American English."

"Well, American English makes sense! We don't have any weird words like 'wanker' and we don't use bloody instead of damn! Normally when I hear bloody, I just think of blood splattered everywhere!"

Alex, whom had been sitting next to Alfred, shook her head. Matthew, seated to the other side of Alex, leaned over to his sister and whispered something to her, whatever it was, made the Frenchie chuckle and nod.

"At least I don't go around taking the 'u' out of words! What the bloody Hell are you trying to do with that?!"

Alfred smirked cockily. "Trying to get rid of 'u'."

"You're grounded Alfred." Arthur put it simply, before going back to teaching.

"I was kidding!" Alfred complained.
