Heroes and Villains (Short Story)

Allen Jones had been staying on the island of Pangaea for about a week, and though he didn't realize it, he had... softened.

He was currently walking past his arch rivals room. Who was that arch rival? None other then his first player counterpart Alfred Jones. Yet, he heard something that made him stop. What did he hear? Sniffling. Allen opened the door just a crack, frowning when he saw Alfred crying. He had never expected to see his enemy cry. Before he came to the island, he would have just walked away. Yet he walked over, kneeling in front of Alfred sense he was sitting on his bed.

"Alfred?" Allen asked.

Alfred couldn't take it, Mr. Pillow wasn't enough to hug at the moment. He collapsed on his worst enemy, sobbing. And to his surprise, Allen didn't push him away. Instead he wrapped an arm around Alfred, using the other to rub his back as he allowed him to let it all out. Once he calmed down, Allen didn't stop hugging him.

"What was that about?" the second player asked curiously.

Alfred broke again, sobbing and letting it all spill out. The bombs, the wars, the hurt he had caused. Allen didn't laugh, he just nodded and listened. When he was done, Allen hugged him a little tighter.

"Half the time I was egging you, dragged you into it, or was right there while it happened. I'm just as much, if not more of a villain than you." Allen rolled his eyes a little.

"No... your not Allen. Like my dad says, it takes a true hero to admit their wrongs." Alfred smiled a little.

Allen couldn't help but grin a little, helping the other up. "Now lets go grab something to eat, runt. And no, not McDonalds, I'm a vegan."

"...."

"...."

"...."

"What!?"

"...Your a vegan?"

"Um, yes?"
