5: A Little Girl

NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS IN LIFE, TRUST IN THE LORD AND HE WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU.

I'M NOT A STALKER. I GO TO THE SAME SCHOOL AS YOU.

IF YOU WANT, YOU CAN WRITE ME BACK.

P.S. – Humble yourselves in the sight of the LORD, and He shall lift you up. – James 4:10

I am going to write back. I don't think it is a stalker or a prank. Whoever it is will probably get tired eventually.

Why did whoever give me the note write about Jesus though?

I WISH I KNEW WHO YOU ARE. ARE YOU A GIRL OR A GUY? WHY ARE YOU EVEN GIVING ME THE LIGHT OF DAY?

I HAVE ONE FRIEND AND THAT'S ENOUGH FOR ME.

WHAT'S UP WITH THE BIBLE VERSE ANYWAY? I DON'T MIND, WHATEVER YOUR REASON IS.

I SHOULD PROBABLY WARN YOU THAT I MIGHT RANT TO YOU ABOUT MY LIFE.

ARE YOU SCARED YET?

P.S. – Words mean MORE than you THINK.

At the diner, I keep getting distracted. We have the Friday night rush right now, but I only have an hour left. Hopefully, it will not seem like a long time.

Half an hour later, Zayden and Craig come into the diner. Craig is a pretty nice guy from what I can tell. I do not really know him. All I know is that he is in our grade.

They are not in my section, so I do not go over their table. From the time they walked into the diner to the time they walked out, I kept glancing over at their table. I kept imagining me going over to talk to them, but it never happened.

Shut up, brain! I don't need to be thinking like that!

Once I'm home, I'm exhausted and barely manage to change into pajamas before collapsing on my bed.

A little girl is running around in a beautiful, green yard with a swing set in the middle. An older couple who I assume are her parents. She pulls on her dad's arm.

"Daddy! Come push me!" She exclaims with a huge smile on her face.

"Okay! Okay!" He says and follows her to the swing set. His face has joy written all over it.

"Higher! Higher!" The girl giggled.

My eyes open and I jump out of bed.

I know that girl from somewhere.

In the junk room, I search through boxes and books trying to figure out where I have saw that little girl.

Halfway through everything in the room, my stomach starts growling loudly. I stand up to go get something to eat, but I see a picture frame lying face down. I pick it up and it is a picture of the little girl. I take the picture out of the frame and flip it over on the back. Hand written in the middle is Lillian Ava West.

Me. That little girl is me.

My vision blurs and I cannot see the words clearly anymore. I do not need to. I throw the picture down and run up to my room. I lay down on my bed and clutch my pillow.

It's days like this that I miss my parents so much that I don't know what to do.

Does any one know what to do?

I need someone. I need my parents.

The tears pour out of my eyes and I have a hard time breathing.

No one cares. I could die today and no one would notice. If they did, they would be happy.
