It wasn't exactly the greatest of towns. It was rather small, but it was home.

     Every face was known there. Everyone was always so social. Even if the town was small, it was practically paradise to those 5 kids.

     Everyday, after school, they roamed the streets and did as many activities as they wanted. Everywhere they went, they always stuck together. Everyone knew them, and they knew everyone.

     Their lives were perfect.

     Misty, the youngest of the group, was currently rambling about a new video game her and her twin brother, Shadow, had got.

     "And we were like, fighting all these cool robot bad guys," she said. "And it was super fun. I think someone gets killed by an ice cream truck though"

     "I- Wow, that is... terrible," said Katherine. Katherine was the oldest of the group, but was the most timid. She had been bullied a lot in school, so her friends were kind of a safe haven for her.

     Breeze laughed. "That must be embarrassing," he said.

     "Sounds like a fun game honestly," Peg said. "What's it called?"

    "It's called-"

   "Uh, guys," Shadow interrupted Misty. He pointed to crowd gathered around one of those TV stores. Peg, confused, quickly went over to the store, along with everyone else

The group managed to push their way into the crowd, to see what everyone seemed so concerned about.

"Oh my god..." Breeze said quietly. Some kind of army was attacking New York, and they looked nowhere near normal. They seemed like monsters, with strange flying vehicles and freakish weapons.

"That's terrible," Katherine said. "Who could do such a thing?"

"Someone with no heart," Peg said coldly. "That's for sure." She turned and started to walk away.

"No heart," Misty repeated. She grinned. "Like an alien?"

"That's not what I meant at all," Peg said.

"No, think about it!" Misty said. "Who else would lead an army like that other than some freaky monster?"

"I think you're looking too far into this," Shadow chuckled.

Katherine glanced at them, then back at the TVs. The screens briefly showed a man wearing a helmet and armor. He held some kind of staff in his hand. Katherine gulped and quickly rushed off to join her friends.

Geez, she thought, I hope we never run into him.
