CHAPTER 11: NOTHING

IAN
"Are they looking?" I whispered to Miles.

He shook his head and peeked over my shoulder, "start making a scene and when they look over do it."

"You guys are idiots," Nick rolled his eyes at us.

Jake swatted at his shoulder and took a bite of his food, "I think it's romantic."

We were in the cafeteria and everyone was just as rambunctious as usual. We needed a solid plan in order to get security to look at us. They were also so focused on everyone else, I mean, for good reason. Some guy at the table next to us randomly just took his pants off and started table hopping while screaming that he's the next Spiderman.

"Stop being so pessimistic!" Miles hissed at Nick, "he just wants to see his man."

"His man is a psychopath. Do you even know why he's in here? He probably shot up a school or raped an entire cheerleading team."

I rubbed my shoulder awkwardly, "I don't think he would do something like that."

"He kind of did murder Brandon..." Jake trailed off.

"Okay," I started, "true, but-"

"They're coming! Just start!" Miles whisper yelled.

I panicked. Acting wasn't my thing.

"I can't believe you would cheat on me!" I cried to Miles who pretended to look shocked.

"Babe- it isn't what it looks like, I swear!" He reached out to hold my hand but I slapped it away.

"Cut the shit Miles Evergreen!"

Jake whistled, "you know shit's serious when he hits you with that last name."

Tears formed in Miles's eyes, "give me another chance, baby. I'll do right by you this time around!"

"Two bottoms don't make a top," Nick grumbled under his breath, embarrassed that people were starting to look in our direction.

"You had your chance," I sniffled, wiping my fake tears.

Miles leaned forward like he was going to kiss me and I (lightly) slapped him across the face. He gasped, pulling away with feigned anger.

"Fuck you, his ass was fatter anyway!"

Jake looked me up and down, "that must've been one hell of an ass."

I lunged at Miles and we fell through the floor, pretending to fight each other but not wanting to cause the other one actual pain.

"Girl fight!" someone screamed as we struggled against the other.

"Oh, I'm sorry, did that hurt?" Miles whispered when he accidentally poked me in the eye.

"No, it's okay," I whispered back and almost kneed him in the balls when we crashed against the table, "shit, my bad."

A crowd formed around us and started cheering. If we were allowed to have phones I bet everyone would've been recording. I stopped when I realized that security was watching with intrigued eyes, not even attempting to break us apart.

"God dammit!" I huffed, standing up and pulling Miles with me.

"Show's over, bitches!" he yelled as everyone 'aww'ed in disappointment.

"That twink's clothes didn't even come off," a guy groaned.

My face burned red causing Miles, Nick and Jake to burst into laughter.

"I told you that you're idiots." Nick shook his head, "the guards didn't even give a shit."

"Probably because their fight was pathetic. Neither of you even have a scratch!" Jake pointed out as I looked between Miles and I.

Except for my hair being messed up and Miles's shirt being a little crooked, we looked perfectly fine. Fuck.

Miles huffed, "I didn't want to hurt my baby." he teased, reaching over to pinch my cheek.

I shoved him away from me, "you wish."

"Anyway, who's the bitch with the fatter ass? I didn't know they came in bigger sizes than Ian's."

Nick and Miles laughed at Jake as I flicked his forehead. Why did their conversations always come back to my ass?

"Do you want me to kick your ass next?" I threatened Jake who scoffed and stood up from his chair.

"You can try."

I leaned over and grabbed the collar of Jake's shirt, dragging his over the table as he shrieked. He immediately went to punch me but I ducked, about to knock us onto the floor until that retched alarm went off again and everyone started to panic.

"Umm I'm pretty sure that's not about our fight," Jake looked around as everyone started running down the halls, looking for the cause of the alarm. Some of the staff ran after them while others just shrugged.

If everyone was in here, why is there alarm going off? I looked around the room. Who isn't in here?

Draven.

I gasped in realization, shoving Jake away from me and sprinting after everyone.

"Ian!" one of them called after me but I didn't look back.

I froze in place when I saw Chris being pulled up the stairs on a stretcher, his body all mangled and bloody. Bile rose in my throat. Draven was down those stairs.

I knew that he was a big, well, huge guy with gaping muscles and a glorious six pack. I knew that he could beat the hell out of someone with the blink of an eye, like Brandon. But I didn't know he was capable of breaking every goddamn bone in someone's body. He didn't even look like a person anymore.

I grabbed the closest trash can and puked into it, not being able to get the image of his disfigured body out of my brain. Blood. There was so much blood.

Miles's hand clutched the small of my back, rubbing up and down gently until I was done. I breathed in and out heavily and pulled my head away from the trash.

I choked when I looked up to see Draven instead. He was clean without a trace of blood on him but his hair was damp. I tried to look between him and Chris but he blocked my way when I did.

"Did..." I swallowed, "did you..."

His nostrils flared as he stared down at me. He just stared at me and didn't respond.

"Stop doing that, just answer me for once!"

Draven reached forward to touch me but I flinched back. He retracted his hand immediately as his mask of emotionlessness hardened. He still didn't say anything.

I frowned, "you told me you wouldn't kill him."

Nothing.

I opened my mouth but he turned around and walked away from me. I could never tell what the hell was going on in his mind.

A hand grabbed my arm and I flinched, "did you see Chris?!" Miles exclaimed. "He looked like a slaughtered cow!" Miles kept going on and on about Chris but I didn't hear a single word. I just kept thinking about how terrifying Draven is. How much blood he spilled.

Nick was right... what the fuck did he do to get in here?

It was a different curiosity than I had with Miles's story. With Miles, I couldn't come up with anything bad that he'd do. But with Draven? I couldn't think of anything he wouldn't do.
