Journal Entry 20

Waterfall is beautiful. Quiet. Serene. Full of memories. I remember coming here with Mom. We used to play in the river, but only after she used a small spell to prevent the water from harming her flames. We talked through echo flowers for awhile, giggling at the old bunny that lives around here. She gave us cinnabuns. When Mom tried to pay here, the lady declined and told us to enjoy our day. We thanked her and ate our treats after she had left. They were delicious. After a while of goofing around, we laid in a glade together, looking at the crystals far above us. Mom said they were the monsters' stars, and that each one that glowed was a monster's soul that had left it's fallen body, residing in the crystals to light the world for the living. She also that my little brother would have eyes like that. I never knew then how she had known, but I never had put much thought into it. Till now, since I'm older. But back then was before Sans was born, so I naive. I was too busy burying my face into the side of her forest green hoodie, wrapped in the all too familiar scent of smoldering fire. I miss her.
