I froze on my spot.

I didn't know what to do.

Should I approach it or should I let it approach me?

It was looking right at me, straight in the eye. I stared back at it, in amazement. In awe. It had the most beautiful oceanic eyes I've ever seen. Or maybe it's just me being dramatic-but it indeed was stunning. It had pale white scales over it's body, strong features and huge horns on top of it. It looked ferocious, yet magnificent.

I made a decision. Maybe a stupid one, but a decision nonetheless.

This was either going to be my worst decision or maybe the right decision.

I decided to step closer to it, slowly but steadily.

The dragon watched me as I moved towards it. When I thought I was confident, it growled at me. I flinched at that. I probably had confusion written all over my face. I don't why, but I wanted to laugh out loud. But, I tried controlling it.

I walked further towards it. It's eyes watched my every movement, observing me. I finally reached in front of it, close enough for it to see me properly. I looked up at it's eyes. Big, round, incredible blue eyes were staring back at me.It was large, but not 'that' large. It was at least medium sized, but still larger than me.

It lowered it's head and I, too, started bending backwards. It looked at me confusingly. I bet it must be thinking 'what's wrong with this vampire?'

I stood still, for the sake of it. Its sniffed me and I couldn't help but let out a small laugh. It's breathing tickled my neck as it sniffed me.

It tilted it's head as if it was curious. I, too, titled my head, mimicking it. For some reason, I felt like child. I don't know why, though.

It nuzzled it's head in the crook of my neck. Honestly, it still tickled for me. Just when I thought that we were get comfortable around each other, I heard a voice calling out for me.

"Rune!" it sounded like Dawn.

The dragon retracted it's head at the sound of the voice. It sounded like it was only a few distance away.

"Oh no." I said to myself in a low voice, looking at the direction where the voice came from. I don't want to go back now. I wanted to stay here and talk to my mate.

The dragon looked down at me, and if it was possible, it looked concerned. I looked at it with confusion.

It then stepped back and lowered itself. It gave me this look that told me to climb on it. I honestly didn't know whether this was a good idea but it's worth a shot. I also wonder where it's going to take me.

I attempted to climb it, but almost slipped. I sighed and attempted to climb it again and was successful this time. I tried sitting in a comfortable position. I, then, held onto it for my life. It's body was smooth and soft, I liked how it felt.

I watched as it spread out its magnificent wings, I could admire it all day. The dragon fluttered it's wings briskly, ready to fly off with me.

I closed my eyes for no apparent reason. I soon felt the wind hitting my face, it also felt light. I opened my eyes to see the beautiful sky as we soared.

I was filled with joy. I liked this feeling. I wished I had wings too so that I could soar through the skies like this. I could only imagine how flying felt like or maybe when I run. But, this, this was pure bliss.

"Woah!" I said under my breath. I could see everything from up here, the place looked beautiful. The skies looked like cotton candy, the doves had flew past us.

This place is gorgeous.

The dragon then proceeded to fly faster for some reason. Maybe, it wanted impress me. It didn't have to try impressing me, I was already impressed. I looked ahead, for particularly not. I then saw a tiny cottage. There was also this huge tree next to it.

The dragon seemed to fly downward, towards the cottage. Maybe, it was it's home. It's taking me to it's home, how exciting. We hit the ground. I proceeded to climb down from the mighty beast, setting foot on the field. This was an amazing experience. It nudged it's head towards me, as if telling me to move forward.

I did as it wished and moved forward, towards the house. I turn back to see the dragon and realised it was shifting. The medium sized dragon in front me had now turned into a gorgeous looking girl.

My mate was a girl.

A stunning one to say the least.

The girl was blonde from root to tip, it was golden sunshine. I guess from afar you could say that her soft waves where the colour of rich creams, but up close it was a chorus of hues. She had blue eyes that looked like the ocean, I could dive right in.

I snapped myself out of my senses and thought about what to do next. I was thankful that she had clothes on. We both could talk but what would we talk about?

She has started walking towards me. "So, you're my mate." she said as she and stood right in front of me. She looked at, top to bottom.

"Yes. Surprise, I suppose." I smiled awkwardly, but felt a little better. "What's your name?" I ask her wanting to know that beautiful name.

"It's Jewel Muller." she tells me.

Okay... Did not expect that, but who cares. This is great! I found my mate finally! Coming here was a good idea.

"My name is Rune Cosgrave." I let her know as I stretched out my hand.

"Oh. You're a Cosgrave." she appeared slightly surprised, while taking my hands in hers, gladly accepting my handshake. "It's an honour." she tells me. I giggle at that. I'm already falling for her which ain't bad. But, it's going to be to since I have to leave in six days. One thing I don't understand is why the folks here knew the Cosgrave family so much.

She leads me to her house and I followed her. She stops in front of the door but starts lifting up the potted plants that were kept beside the door.

"What are doing?" I ask her.

"I'm trying to find my keys. I always hide it under here." she lets me know, still looking for it.

"There! Found it!" she triumphs.

We walk into her home. It looked cozy, I was already feeling home. "Be a little careful. I have a feline friend." she warns and I nod in understanding.

We walked into the living room, it was littered with books and chart papers. "I'll clean that up. You can on that couch." she tells me as she starts picking up all the stuff.

"It's Okay." I said as I sat on the couch. I looked around the house. There was a calendar hanging on the wall, photos of her and her friends, I suppose, were on the wall, decorated. There was also a cat tree right beside it.

This indicates that Jewel has a cat with her!

"Do you have a cat?" I ask her, excited.

"Yeah! Her name is Liry." she tells me with a smile on her face.

"Well, where is she?" I ask her, not finding her. A usually cat is supposed to roam around the house and when their owners return, they would come greet them, I suppose.

"She must be around the house." she told. "She's actually deaf, so she wouldn't hear me come in." she tells me.

"Oh." I muttered under my breath.

"I usually find her in my bed, sleeping. The other times, she would be already on the couch waiting for me to arrive." she tells me. I hummed in response.

As if on the cue, an adorable looking cat with white furcoat appeared. It meowed loudly at the sight of her owner.

"There she is." she says out loud and goes towards the cat, to pick it up. They looked similar, Jewel's dragon also had white scales. They had similar blue eyes. They both looked adorable together.

"You know, cats with white fur and blue eyes are usually deaf." she said, as she sits beside me.

"I have a pet spider." I state, out of the blue. She looked at me with her brows furrowed.

"Well, don't bring it here." she tells me. "Not in my house. I usually kill them when I see them." she adds.

I let out a small laugh. "You're like my twin brother." I tell her.

"You have a twin?" she asks me.

"Yeah! His name is Rhaegal." I answer her. "Do you have any siblings?" I ask her.

"Uh, yeah, I do. I have a little brother. But, I haven't talked to him for almost five years." she tells me, her eyes held sadness.

"Why?" I asked, curious.

"That's a topic that I would like to avoid." she says as she pets Liry.

"Alright." I answer her.

We were then consumed by silence, it wasn't uncomfortable. "So...what do we do now?" I ask her.

"I don't know. What do mates do when they find each other?" she asked in general.

"I don't know. Kiss, I suppose?" I said but I came off as a question. But I wasn't sure about what I was saying. Were we supposed to?

"We just met. I'm not going kissing someone I just met." she said. I could tell she was a cautious person.

"Okay, I understand. What do you want to do then?" I asked her, dropping the kissing part. Something should bring us close, like a hobby or something.

"Well, how about we just talk and get to know each other?" she suggested. I liked that idea more better.

"I should head home." I tell her, looking at the clock hanging on the wall.

"Sure. I can fly you there." she suggested.

"Alright." I said getting, ready to leave. It had been three hours since I've been here. I think we've grown a little close.

Jewel had shifted into her dragon form and had flew me to my house. Technically, it's Adriel and Rowan's home, but I'm staying there for a week.

Speaking of which, when I told Jewel that I was here for a visit as I've never been to Enchantra, although I and Rae were born here. I told her that I would leave in a week.

She had a frown on her face and said something incoherent under her breath. It was obvious she hated the sound of that, she didn't want me to leave.

She had dropped me outside my home. I insisted her to come with me. She had resisted, she told me 'next time'. She wasn't ready yet. I understand her and bid her goodbye.

I walked up the the porch and knocked on the door. Rowan was the one that answered "Good gracious, where were you?" she asked me with a concerned look on his face.

"Uh, outside." I answered her, adding "I also sort of made a friend, I suppose."

"That's nice" he says as he step aside to let me in.

"Where's Rae?" I asked Rowan. I wonder if he told everyone.

He turns to me after shutting the door, "He's upstairs." he tells me.

"How's Adriel?" I asked. I wonder what happened after Rowan had come home. "Also, where's Creepy?"

"Creepy is with me. Also, what you did in the morning wasn't impressive." Adriel says as he comes into my view.

"Adriel, honey, calm down." Rowan said in a soothing voice. Thank you, Rowan.

"I'll go make dinner." he says as he leaves me and Adriel alone.

"So, you found your mate?" he asks, raising his brow.

"Yeah! Did Rae tell you this?" I asked him, suspiciously.

"No. But, the boys thoughts were loud and clear for me to hear. He was fanboying." he tells me. I laugh, that's my Rae. Also, Adriel was a vampire, sort of, so obviously he could hear his thoughts.

"You found your mate?!" Rowan asks us. I keep forgetting that this guy has sharp hearing.

"Uh, yes." I answer him. He traps me in bear hug. Oh my lord.

"It's because of my blessings!" Rae's voiced could be heard from upstairs.

"Move out! I need to know first!" Rae yells as he runs to me. "Tell me everything!" he yells.

"Quit yelling in my house!" Adriel yells at him.

"Sorry."

Later that day, I tell them almost everything. They weren't surprised to hear that Jewel was a dragon. They had listened to every word that I said, as if I was telling a story. Just like how I'm narrating this in my head.

I would visit Jewel tomorrow, I promised her and Rae to introduce them to each other.
