Shuna's Tour, And Answering Questions
*Shuna's P.O.V*
It was early in the morning, I got up earlier today because last night before he turned in Lord Rimuru asked me to guide miss Serena around Tempest today. I was in front the guest house when something to my right on the second floor caught my eye. It was her, she was standing near the window looking out at the view. Her blue eyes were sparkling, she must like it. Soon she noticed me and waved with a bright smile. I of course waved back and motioned for her to come out from her room, which she did.
"Hello Shuna, brings you here?" She asked nicely. "Miss Serena, good morning to you. Lord Rimuru asked me last night to show you around the city today. After realizing your situation, I made up my mind that I will do my best to help you out, especially since you're new in this world. Consider it an apology for not looking upon you kindly when you first came here..." Say, looking down a little. I felt bad about not being immediately aware of her situation and thinking horrible things about the other girl who committed such a scene in Lord Rimuru's presence.
She grabbed my hands gently. "No Shuna, please don't feel bad. I understand that it was an attack on you guys and I know that's something to never be taken lightly in any case. I mean, you guys at the time didn't know I'd just been reincarnated into the body of someone who tried to kill you guys. It's understandable that you guys would be upset, but as long as no harm was done it's perfectly fine, I promise. Also, I'll definitely take you up on that tour. I can't wait to see more of Tempest."
She held a kind smile while she said those words, I could've cried. "Oh Miss Serena, thank you for understanding. You're truly kind, it's no wonder Lord Rimuru seems to deeply care for you even though you just met." I immediately covered my mouth at the words that had slipped out. She seemed as if she was about to ask about what I accidentally said. "U-uh, please forget I said that! A-anyway, shall we go?" I asked, seeming a little nervous myself.
"Uhh, sure??" 'Oh my, she's suspicious isn't she? Now I've gone and done it. Forgive me Lord Rimuru!' I thought. As we walked down the streets, I noticed she was engrossed in learning and listening to my explanation of Tempest. She was so into it, it was seemingly a bit out of character for her, but I could be wrong.
In any case, as we went along the tour she quickly picked up on where things were, and the names of not all, but many of those in Tempest. What surprised me most of all was that she seemed to know her way around a bit even before we started. I'd like to figure out why and how, but not now.
One thing that I noted about Serena's features was her eye catching long silver hair, it caused other eyes to be drawn to her, some were even blushing a little just looking at her. 'Better keep an eye on Serena if I don't want her getting stolen from under my nose for now.'
After about another hour or two somewhere along the way, we stopped for a moment and I bought us a couple of beef skewers so she could try some since she was eyeing it. We leaned against a wall while we ate the skewers."This is amazing! I never thought I'd get to actually try some of this!" She exclaims happily, taking another piece off. Her fluffy kitsune ears atop her head were wiggling lightly in excitement, I smile at this. 'Lord Rimuru would love to see that I'm sure.'
Others who were walking by stared at us more, mostly her, this time some were seemingly still a bit skeptical of Serena, or rather her appearance and kept their distance from us. 'I suppose it'll take more time for some to get used to her huh?'
I smiled lighgly, pushing those thoughts away and decided to respond to Serena's enjoyment, and to also ask her something. "I'm glad you like it. If you don't mind, can I ask you something?" I ask, she nods. "Well, I was wondering why you seemed to already know your way around areas you haven't even seen before the tour?" I asked, she swallowed the rest of her good and answered. "Oh, you see the world I came from..." She took a breath. "In it, this world is fictional and lots of people there know if it. It's also one of my favorites, so I learned as much as I could on it but more specifically what was where in Tempest. It never showed the all of what Tempest looks like close up from what I've seen, or if something did I haven't seen it so being allowed to see all of this in person has been a huge privilege for me." 'So that's why...' "I see. If what you say is true, then you seeing this in person is why you were so into the tour, that makes sense." I say.
After that, she and I talked a bit about what anime is and that this world and everyone in it was apart of it. She moved on to tell me about a song from this world that she finds very tender and a bit sad, but beautiful, and asked if I wanted to hear it. I nodded, and she began softly singing it to me. When she did, I understood why she thought so. It felt just as she said. After a while, she finished singing it to me.
"I see why you care about that song, it's just as you said. Also miss Serena, you have a beautiful voice. If you sang for Tempest, you'd easily become an attraction." I compliment. "Thank you, honestly, singing was something I did a lot, so I'm not surprised you think that." She says with a small smile.
After that we continued for another hour and a half basically finishing up the tour when Lord Rimuru had spotted us and came over. "Hey guys, how's it going?" He asked. "Very well indeed Lord Rimuru, Miss Serena is quite good with learning about Tempest and rather fast too, I'm honestly impressed." I reported.
"Wow, that is impressive especially since it's your first day here, nicely done Serena. And thank you for helping her out Shuna." He responded, making Serena blush lightly at his praise.
"It was no trouble my Lord, I'm happy to help you and her at any time." I lightly teased. Lord Rimuru seemed to get what I joked about and blushed a little. He quickly his it and cleared his throat. "A-alright Shuna, mind if I take Serena off your hands for a bit? I got some things I'd like to ask still." He asked.
"I don't mind, we did mostly finish the tour, but I don't mind since this was the last area to cover. I have some work to do anyway, and besides I'm sure she'll see all of it eventually. Miss Serena, it was lovely just being in your presence. I will see you later." I said, bowing lightly to both of them.
"It was fun hanging with you too, let's do it again sometime! But Shuna, I'd like it if you just call me Serena. I'd love for us to be friends without the miss or such titles." She says, I smile and give her a brief hug, nodding my head in agreement. "Good luck with your work Shuna!" She said smiling, bowing back to me. With that I took my leave, but as I walked away I overheard Serena's words.
"This is why Shuna's one of my favorites in Tempest. She's so nice." My heart swelled at this as Lord Rimuru agreed with her statement. 'If I hadn't already said my goodbyes I'd be back over there hugging her!!' I thought, clutching my hands together trying to resist doing so on my way back to work.
*Serena's P.O.V.*
"So what did you want to ask me?" I asked Rimuru. "I wanted to know about if you acquired any skills while coming into this world, and what you know about from this world to start. Let's go inside, that way we can talk without anyone interrupting or overhearing us." He said.
As we went inside, I was in awe of how beautiful the interior of the hallway is. Seeing it in the anime is fine and all, but it still doesn't compare to the real thing, like holy sticks!! We finally made it to his office and he had me take a seat. His office was also gorgeous in person too. At this point, I was surprised I was even surprised anymore, I mean it's Tempest for goodness sake of course it'll be beautiful!
He spoke up, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"To start, how much do you know about this world from the way it showed you in the anime?" He asked. "I know from when you were just walking through the streets to a place that has Yakiniku with Tamura and Miho, got "shanked by a rando", and became a slime to when you got home from your first Walpergus in the course of two seasons. Other than that, I know there are light novels and more details of the anime in the manga, but I never got that far unfortunately. I know there are parts in the anime that don't show details and it has a lot of time skips in certain areas so I don't know every little detail, but I do know a lot." I inform.
"Wow, so basically you've seen from my last day as a human up to a little past Walpergus. That's a lot..." He says mostly to himself. "Well, not all of it. I know that there is also an OVA about your time at the beach and a series called 'The Slime Diaries'. I've seen bits of both, but that's about it. That said, all I know from the OVA is that you performed some sort of surgery. I have however seen the movies, they're called Scarlet Bonds and the one that came out more recently is called Visions Of Coleus. I've only seen them about twice though unfortunately. That's about it." I said.
"I see, well I appreciate you telling me all this. It's a little weird to think about though if I'm being honest... I mean, actually knowing this world is an anime and manga in your previous world is...." He says, closing his eyes at the thought. "Yeah I get it. I think it's a little awkward too when you put it like that. One thing I do just want to get off my chest if you don't mind. I just want to say, if you didn't kill Clayman, I would've tried to myself even if it meant I were to die trying. He has no right to do what he did to you guys."
Rimuru looked at me questioningly. "Huh? Why are you talking about Clayman of all people?" He asked. "I just wanted to let you know that if I were here back then, I would do what ever I could to help during that attack. It made me mad too, and I just wish some things turned out a bit differently is all..." I said. I thought about telling him something else, but decided against it. It would be the only thing I didn't share with him that I knew about for the future and technically the past too as I knew it would be dangerous to share it since I only knew little bits.
Honestly I could be wrong, but he looked a bit touched by my words. "I appreciate you saying that, but the thing is everything turned out fine in the end, so even if you were there I'm not sure if much would change. Besides which if you were there, those other worlders might've gotten you too in some way or another... I'd personally rather you not be hurt too, got enough of that back then as it was." He says, looking me dead in the eyes.
"Yeah that's true, but just watching and not being able to do anything about it was tortuous for me. I just wish I could've helped or so much as even been there to hug you when you found out about Shion and dropped to your knees.... I don't care.... something... anything...."
He looked shocked. 'I would be shocked too if I were in his position.' I thought.
"You know about that part too huh?..." He looks away from me, seeming a little embarrassed. "Yes, I do... I know you could be used it in the moment quite severely.... but please don't over think this, I just wanted to get it off my chest. Oh! Speaking of things to get out there that reminds me, where is Geld? I need to hug that orc if no other one." I asked. He turned back to me curiously.
"Geld? He should be working on the road to Eurazania still. Why do you need to hug him though??" He responded. "Before I answer that, how far, have the kijin received a pleasant surprise from the kingdom of Raja?" He looked at me questioningly, tilting his head lightly. "The kingdom of Raja? What are you talking about?" My eyes instantly lit up like I just got a gift from God and I covered my mouth.
"No way!!!" I yelled out in a muffled way. I probably looked crazy to Rimuru as he looked confused as hell, but I do not care!! I was so ecstatic, I was actually in the timeline before Hiiro came to Tempest! "Holy sticks! Oh gosh! Uhh..... I really don't wanna ruin the timeline too much, but I have no clue when it'll happen. Ah screw it! Rimuru, I need to ask a favor of you and one of the kijin preferably Benimaru." Rimuru looked so confused. Can't blame the dude for that.
"Uhhh, sorry but Benimaru is kinda busy today. I think Shuna is free later though along with Shion too. Will they be suitable enough for your request?" He asks. 'Benimaru's busy?? Crap, screw it!'
"Shion or Shuna will be fine, it'll just need some time. I just need to remember when-! That's it! Souei! I need to find him first!! Rimuru do you happen to know where Souei is?" I ask frantically.
"Actually yes. I can get him for you if you want." He offers, still confused. "Please, I need to hurry I don't know when it'll happen-!" As if his ears were burning, I was interrupted by no other than Souei himself via shadow movement. "Lord Rimuru, please excuse my interruption. Geld and his team are under attack." 'Crap! Already?! Fine then bring it on!' "No time to waste then!" I interrupted him this time as I quickly stood up. They seemed a little surprised.
"Souei, get Benimaru and bring him there he'll wanna see this along with the rest of you kijin! Rimuru, let's go too! You'll wanna see this trust me." Rimuru and Souei looked at me undoubtedly confused, but Rimuru nodded to him and I knew Souei would do as I said when he disappeared.
"You know what's happening it seems, don't you Serena?" He asks, giving me a curious and amused look as he stands up. "I'll tell you more about it later but you need to take us to Geld now. He's gonna die if we don't hurry."
