Let the freedom reign.

We decided to head back in the same car. Alex and Zayden sat in front while I and Jannet took backseat.

I was gazing outside when Alex asked, “Cutie, Are you hungry?”

“No, I’m tired I just want to go home and sleep.”

My eyes clashed with Zayden's as he was peering at me through rear view mirror. He was scrutinizing my face, I felt like he wanted to say something. I rest my head against the window staring at him.

Lifting his phone he typed something and my buzzed.

Zayden – Are you okay?

Me – yes

Zayden – Sleepy?

Me – Mm-hmm

Zayden – Is this speed fine for you?

Me – Yes

Zayden – Really Angel?

My cheeks burned red when I read his message.

Me – Yes!

He read my message and looked at me once more and turned his gaze to his right looking outside. 
I gazed at the trees, the open fields and streams as we pass them for a long time.

Huffing, I stare at my phone which was laying on my lap.

Me – I am bored of watching tress and open fields.

Zayden's phone buzzed. He checked his phone and then looked at me through the mirror.

Zayden – I see. So let’s talk? Tell me what were you asking me yesterday?

Was this topic needed now.

Zayden – Hey where are you lost? I’m waiting.

I was tapping my fingers on the screen contemplating if I should him ask him or not.

Me – Why do you call me angel?

Finally after batting with my thoughts I typed the message and hit the send button and rested my phone on my lap.
Within a second my phone vibrated. Biting my lower lip I turned the phone to look at his reply.

Zayden – I can call my wife whatever I want. Right?

My heart did a flip when I read his reply.

Wife!

My face flushed while my insides were like swans splashing in their own rhythm.

Zayden – Why aren’t you replying? Wait, Are you blushing? God! You are cute.

I place my palm on my cheeks cupping my face while my lips curled upwards.

Me – Quit teasing. Where did you learn to speak so much. And when did you become this bold.

Zayden — Idk!! It doesn't feel awkward while texting...

Zayden — Tell me one thing...

"Who is making you blush so much?" Jannet asked peeking at my phone. I hit the home icon whilst pressing my lips straight.

"Is she blushing?" Alex questioned whilst adjusting the mirror and looking at me with curious eyes. "Woah... Cutie tell us the reason behind your red face."

"It's very hot in here," I said fanning my face.

Alex narrowed his eyes scrutinizing my face and then increased the AC.

My phone buzzed again.

Zayden — Lier

Me — What? I didn't lie. Anyways what were you asking?

Zayden — ‘Why do I call you angel’ you could have asked me this yesterday only right?

Little does he know what I was feeling when he was close to me. Muttering a question was too far, I was feeling my heart would pop out of my throat anytime.

Me — I was having a mini heart attack.

Zayden — Huh?

Me — You were so close to me... How could you expect me to speak.

Only after I sent hit button I realised what I had typed. Unknowingly and unconsciously I had almost confessed my feeling for Zayden.

Zayden — Should I be happy after knowing this?

Me — Idk

Zayden — I'm flattered to know that my presence effects you.

Smiling at his text, I peer outside the window. Rest of the ride was peaceful.
Something in Zayden and I's relationship changed that day. We used to steal glances at each other.

I laid on my side of bed and closed my eyes shut. It was noticeable that the gap between us was reduced a little. Instead of laying on edges of bed like earlier, we were now sleeping in much comfortable position.

"Were you scared today when your foot slipped?" Zayden asked.

I turn my body to face him. He was looking at the ceiling with his hands placed behind his head.

"To be honest a lot..." I mutter trailing off making Zayden turned his body to face me.

"But thanks to Alex I'm fine."

Zayden hummed peering at me. A serene silence sweeped our surrounding as we were looking at each other. His eyes were like a maze in which I could easily be lost.  After few seconds I blink my eyes looking away, I was starting to grow nervous under his gaze.

Then I remembered today's morning talk where he clearly told me about no hug and no kiss  policy but he clearly did allow Jannet to kiss his cheek.

"So..." I started sparkling his interest, "I remember you said something on the lines of no kissing and no hugging right?"I question with a raised eyebrow.

"Ohh shit!!" He cursed under his breath whilst shutting his eyes.

"Hmm... So that means even I can kiss —" I stopped speaking when he suddenly moved closer to me; almost entering my personal space. Our nose tips almost brushing against each other.

Peering at my apprehensive orbs he languidly raised his hand and tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. My breath hitched at his action. He slowly ran his knuckles over my cheek causing a red to creep all over my cheekbones.

My heart thumped against ribcage, I couldn't bear this unusual sensation which ran over my body. I closed my eyes and inhaled deeply trying to calm my nerves which were set on fire by Zayden's mere touch.

Next moment I felt his warm hands snaking around my waist, he pulled me towards him causing my hands on land on his shoulder.
"You were saying something angel..." He asked, his voice was calm yet husky.

I hoist my eyelids open and look at him. His blue eyes were radiating warmth and tint of what felt like attraction. I gulp the lump formed in my throat and lowered my eyes. I couldn't mutter a word out of my mouth with him being so close to me. My mind and body felt jittery.

A gasp escaped my lips when he buried his face in crook of my neck.
I could feel his hot breath caressing my skin causing goosebumps to raise all over my body.
Wait! Is he breathing me?

"Only I'm supposed to touch you." He uttered, my stomach churned and butterflies erupted in my belly listening to his words.

"Undrestood?" he asked, but I was not in a condition to answer any of his questions.

He waited for another few seconds then slowly he trailed his nose tip all over my neck and pressed his lips below my ear causing a cold shiver to course down my spine.
"Yess" I whispered in hushed tone while my grip on his shirt tightened.

I could feel his lips curling up, "Good Night Angel." He muttered laying his head on my pillow and pulling me in his arms.

"Are you not going to sleep on your side?"

"No, it's completely okay to hug your wife while sleeping..." He said shocking me.

I might go crazy within few days if Zayden starts speaking like this without any filter.

"Good Night." I replied inhaling his scent.

Happiness is waking up in the morning, feeling the warmness of the person you love... Like every morning I was peering at his handsome face, the only difference was the fact that he was close to me and his hand was wrapped around my stomach. His behavior was so amiable yesterday.

When we walked into College the atmosphere felt a bit different. Everyone seem quite tense and that's when my eyes gaze towards the huge crowd gathered in front of notice board.

Oh Shit!

How can I forget today our results will be out.
With thumping heart I strolled towards the notice board and somehow managed to squeeze through the crowd and move towards front. Muttering silent prayer in my mind, I crossed my fingers and hoist my eyelids to look at the top of the name list.

Please God, I don't want to lose my position to someone else.

The consequence of losing first position will cost me a lot and I was definitely not ready to face it. I might as well have to quit my studies if by any chance my rank drops cause no way in hell I can afford the college fees.
My heart was at ease the moment I peer at my name on the top of the list.

Thank God. I exhaled with relief washing over my body.

With a huge smile laced on my face I looked around only to find Zayden and Alex standing at few distance.
They both gazed at me with amusement as I was grinning ear to ear. Without thinking for another second I started running towards them and then jumped on Zayden with my hands wrapping around his neck. My legs were hanging in the air. Zayden twirled one full round balancing the both of us.

"Woah! You okay angel?" He asked dropping my legs on ground with his hands still wrapped around my waist.

I was so overpowered with happiness that I completely forgot we were in college. Thankfully Zayden didn't embarrass me by pushing me away instead he held me closer to him. Feeling everyone's gaze on us, I slowly unhooked my hands from his neck and stepped away from him.

Fidgeting with my fingers I looked around to find few people looking at us with confusion laced on their faces. My stunt did attract quite some audience.

"I'm sorry, I didn't realize what I was doing. I — I got carried away with happiness." I confessed lowering my eyes.

"It's alright."

Huh?

"Really? People saw what I did."

"So?" He questioned with raised brow.

Did Zayden hit his head somewhere?  Everyone saw us together . They are definitely going to speak about my performance from earlier. Is he okay with that?

"Now everyone is going to speak about us."

"I don't care what others think. Anyways tell me why are you so happy?" He questioned slipping his hands inside his pockets.

The gigantic smile was back on my face, "I topped the exams."

One side of his lips curled up, it felt as if he wanted to say not bad.

"Aww congratulations cutie." Alex said pulling me into bear hug.

"Thank you... I was so scared, I thought my rank will go down this time."

"Well, my rank did drop." Zayden said.

"Why? You and I studied together right? I remember every question was within what we had studied." I questioned.

He gazed at me with his brows furrowed.

"What?!"

"I did know the solution for every question but since my wife had literally ordered me not to write the last question, I had no other choice but to skip it which made my rank to drop to 4th place." He answered stressing the word my wife.

My face flushed and enormous butterflies took flight in my stomach. Instead of feeling bad for Zayden I was elated and jumpy.

Controlling my jittery self I cleared my throat, "Why do you even want to top when you are so rich. Let some other student who is in need of scholarship get the top position. It will atleast be helpful for them." I stated letting him know my intentions behind asking him to skip the last question.

"Oh then why did you top? You could have given this chance for someone who is in need of scholarship."

"And who told you I'm rich?" I asked, holding books closer to my chest.

"

You are not?" He raised one of his eye brow.

"No... I can ba—" Before I could complete my sentence Zayden cut me off.

"Why do you keep forgetting that you are Zayden Harley's wife... You can afford anything you desire." He said very casually.

My breath caught in my throat while my mouth hung open. Did he just say that?

Am I day dreaming?

I was utterly awestruck by his sentence.

"Woah Man! I can't believe you said that..." Alex piped in, he looked baffled.

"Let's go to class." Zayden pulled Alex bag and started walking past me leaving me still stunned.

My poor heart thumped while I kept batting my eyelids.
