"Tiishe wake up" I heard my name.

It is when you have a good dream that is when someone will wake you up quickly.

She did not allow me to even finish my wedding with Lee min ho sef, my new name will now be Lee min ti ('ti' from 'Tiishe' ) .

"Good morning ma" I greeted my mom as I knelt down.

"Good morning, we will soon go to the party, go and take your bath" she stated.

"But, mummy it is still early, we are not the ones that will sweep the place " I complained.

"We are not going now, I am just telling you to freshen, we still have a lot of things to do before we go" she said.

"Okay ma" I said and got up.

After  all the Saturday chores which consist of sweeping and mopping, washing the toilets, trimming the flowers.

I know it's a lot of work.

"Darasimi, we will go in the next thirty minutes" my mom shouted from the kitchen.

"Okay ma" I said and went to my room.

I searched for pepper red gown and I finally one.

It is an off shoulder lace design , it got below my knee length and fitted me perfectly. I took my silver purse with my phone and went downstairs to meet my mummy.

She wore a red  lace material ero and buba with silver gele and silver heels.

"Your dad will be joining us there" she announced.

"But, you said it is mummy Ajoke's brother-in-law sister niece "I asked.

" He knows the groom's father" she answered

"Ohh okay, so you will join the bride's family and daddy will join the groom's family " I asked .

"We will all join groom's family, ejo e ti poju (you are talking too much) " She stated.

"Let's go" She announced and carried her bag.

She entered and ignited the Rav 4 sports car.

I walked towards the big iron gate.

I still don't know why we don't have a gateman .

I locked the gate with a padlock and entered the car.

Duduke by Simi was played in the car and I moved my body to the rhythm of the music as we moved towards the church.

UNKNOWN POV

"Dad, they will be at the party today " My son told me as he walked into my room.

We have been leaving together ever since the day my wife ..................

FLASHBACK

" Dear, do you really have to go" i asked her sadly as she carried her bags.

"You know I have to, this is really important, we will be able to pay for Junior's school fees " She told me.

I held her hands and turned to look at her and said "I know but i have a feeling something will happen".

"Nothing will happen, let me quickly go " she said and hugged me and left the house.

I just have to pray all will be well" I said to myself.
I walked to the sitting room and switched on the television to watch a football match.

" Hello sir, Hello sir, can you hear me ? " An unknown number called me and said hastily.

Immediately, i knew something was wrong and i felt uneasy, i immediately called back because my hunch was never wrong.

" Hello" I said when I called back.

" Sir, your,........  your,......... your.........

" My what " I yelled and stood up, different thoughts were running through my mind,

"She is here laying in a pool of blood, she was hit and the driver ran away, and you know the situation of this country, we called an ambulance and they said the hospital workers are on a strike and the ambulance needs repair, the others don't have petrol " He said at once.

" Why are you telling me story, I'm on my way, where are you at " I asked as I entered and drove off at high speed.

I got to Agege , I saw my wife and our Peugeot 504 car  beside the road with people around her. She was beside the car in a pool of blood with a man trying to revive her, i quickly rushed there and carried her into the car I borrowed from  our neighbour.

Occasionally, I will look at the back to make sure she was still breathing, her leg was badly injured alongside her neck and i knew it was very dangerous to be injured at those parts.

After about twenty minutes we  got to De Jewels hospital, (it was an old hospital with two story buildings, it looked old but i don't care what matters now is my wife's health)  because all the other hospitals were on strike except this private one.  I carried her into the hospital and the nurses took her to emergency ward.

The nurse came back back to tell me that the doctor will like to see me.

On getting to the doctor's office, he told me something that

"Good afternoon, I'm Doctor Remi the doctor in charge of your wife's treatment" He said.

"How is she? " I asked.

"She has whiplash during rear-end vehicle collision. The accident was caused due  to forceful, rapid back-and-forth movement of the neck, like the cracking of a whip. The blunt force to the neck  damaged some vessels, and if it restrict blood flow to the brain it can lead to serious neurological injuries".

" Sir, what is the solution " I asked.

"Treatment can include physiotherapy and prescription medication. In rare cases, injections into the neck may help" He said.

"We don't know if all these will work for her but above all it is the money we need, the test we conducted for us to know these is ₦50 000, we need ₦500 000 for her to be okay" He announced.

"Sir, please it is only ₦5 000 i have , can deposit it and the treatment will start " i pleaded.

"Sir, when you deposit ₦100 000 , the treatment will start " He said and left.

I remained on the spot and I felt lost, I didn't know what to do, where to go.

Where will I see ₦100 000 to begin with, maybe i can go back to beg the doctor.

I begged the doctor but he kept saying something about hospital policy.

I thought doctors work are to save lives

"Sir, please she is dying" i said but it fell on deaf ears.

I went out of the hospital to look for means to get the money, at the entrance of the hospital I saw the man that helped my wife and called me, he asked me of the situation at hand and i explained everything to him.

The man paid ₦100 000 and in tears i thanked him, he left before i could get his name.

At least they can start the treatment.

I paid and the doctor was informed.

In less than five minutes, I saw the nurses coming out of the operation room with sad faces , the doctor came up to me and said

"I'm sorry.............."he said but i cut him off before he could reply.

"Hold it right there, I know she died abi, you killed her, it wasn't that accident that killed her, it was YOU, I promise you will regret this, you are very heartless " I spat and punched him.
