1.3 - Struggle To Survive
The next day Elena woke up in an unfamiliar bed, only to be reminded she'd slept with Lilac, but Lilac wasn't in the bed, or the room for that matter.
Elena got up from the bed and went out to the kitchen where she found Lilac up and cooking. Elena sat down, very confused before Lilac daw her and gave her a lovely smile.
"Morning sleeping beauty." Lilac said as she fliped over the omelet.
"Morning. You seem happy." Lilac nodded before folding the omelet in half.
"It's been a long time." Lilac set the food infront of Elena before giving her a hug.
Elena knew she had to watch what she would say, scared to trigger any madness still within. Just because she felt good now didn't mean she'd be like that forever.
Lilac left Elena to her food while smiling brightly. She missed being happy, or feeling anything. She found her way to Katherine's room and saw the brunette sleeping away.
She grabbed a blood bag from the mini fridge in her room and waved it around her nose. She watched Katherine start to sniff until she grabbed the bag and started to drink, slowly waking up.
As Katherine drank, she could only think about how she wanted to wake up to Lilac's smiling face everyday. Hopefully her feelings were different once her humanity was back.
"Good morning." Lilac greeted as Katherine finished the bag.
"Morning." She sat up and streched.
"What do I smell?" Katherine asked as she sniffed the air.
"Oh I made an omelet for Elena." Lilac shrugged. Katherine tightened her fists slightly.
"Could I steal you for the day? I'd like to hang out with you today." Katherine asked hopefully.
"Course. I just have to get dressed and send Elena on her way." Lilac said before walking out of her room. Today was her chance to change everything.
Half an hour later Elena was saying goodbye to Lilac. Elena really enjoyed the morning and hoped for it to happen again.
"Drive safe Elena. I'll see you later." Lilac said and pressed her lips to Elena's cheek before she left the house.
Elena touched her cheek lightly before getting into the car and driving back to Mystic Falls. Lilac turned to Katherine and saw her standing quite close to her.
"So what will we be doing today?" Lilac asked making Katherine smirk.
"It's a surprise.

The girls looked in many stores that day, buying many things. Katherine did most of the buying, insisting on not letting Lilac spend a dime. By the end it was nightfall and they were both smiling and laughing.
Walking back to their house Lilac grabbed Katherine's hand, making Katherine's dead heart flutter.
"What made you want to do this Katherine?" Lilac asked.
"To gain your trust. I know it might have faltered when I admitted my... feelings." She answered. Lilac squeezed her hand.
"You already had my trust. My feelings were not mutual." Lilac explained.
"Can I ask you something?" Katherine asks shyly.
"Please." Lilac said.
"Could you tell me something of your past? You never told me anything." Lilac's eyes darkened at the mention of her past. It still haunted her to this day.
She let go of Katherine's hand and stood straight in front of her. Suddenly Lilac pushed Katherine, causing her to smash into a wall and Lilac whisked away.
Katherine rised quickly, cursing her mind of asking such a thing. She was only thinking of herself and their relationship.
Not far away Elena had watched the whole thing. Terrified of Lilac's statell she went off to find her, knowing where she could be, while Katherine began looking in a the wrong places.
Elena entered the cemetery in the forest and saw Lilac crouched down at Hillary's grave once again. Her shoulders were moving fast and her hands held her face tightly.
Lilac felt terrible. She got angry enough to hurt her best friend and was scared she'd hurt someone else. These feelings she was enduring made her madder than ever. She wished she could just control them and stop raging out and gained everyone.
Elena stood a foot away, scared slightly that she'd attack her if was too close.
"Lilac, what happened?" She asked. Lilac turned towards the brunette she'd become close with and rushed over to her.
Lilac latched to Elena, making her stumble slightly but she kept her balance. Lilac was sick of crying, but that's all she could do at the moment.
"I'm a terrible person." Lilac sobbed. "I keep getting angry. I hate this feeling, I just want it to go angry way!" She exclaimed softly. Elena rubbed her back before grabbing her shoulders and holding her a few inches away.
"You're not a terrible person, you're just unstable at the moment. You just got your humanity back so it's going to take some time getting used to all your emotions. I'll help you through it, I promise." Elena held her pinky out, making Lilac laughed before latching her with Elena's.
Suddenly Lilac pulled Elena forwards with her pinky and their lips were pressed together for a sweet, short kiss. It surprised both of them, Lilac didn't know what came over her.
Both girls pulled away, both blushing hard as they stared at each other. Lilac felt stupid, she ruined their friendship.
"I'm sorry Elena, I don't know what came over me. I'm just really hyped at the moment, that's all." Lilac said, muttering the last little part to herself.
"It's uh, it's fine. I didn't mind." Elena said. She started to smile as they held hands again, sitting down on the forest floor.
Emotions rushed through both of them, feelings ran through their bodies, thought went throughout their mind. But all they knew was that they didn't regret what moment had just happened. They hoped it would happen again.
