0.3 - Funeral Tricks

The next morning Katherine woke up to the house being empty, Lilac nowhere in sight. This was usual for her to up and leave, but she'd always leave a note. So getting up from bed Katherine went into the kitchen, expecting a note from her.

She stole a blood bag from the fridge and drank it's remains as she leaned against the counter, eyes wondering around the area in search for a piece of paper.

After five minutes of searching she gave up angry that there was no note and just got ready. After putting on her leather jacket she felt into her pocket and found a folded card. Of course she put it there.

Katherine smiled as she opened the card. Inside wasn't something she expected.

Please come to say goodbye to Mayor Lockwood as we celebrate his life on this earth.

At the Lockwood Mansion. 4pm.

She smirked and looked at the clock, only twelve so she had time to do as she pleased. So she left the house, knowing exactly where Lilac would be and went to have some of her own fun.

Lounging on the red velvet couch of the Salvatore house Lilac continued to wait for one of the brothers that lived in this house to find her. Better to meet the guys that Katherine was hopelessly in love with, especially the one she's still attached to.

Lilac didn't understand how you could be hung up on someone for over a century. It was stupid really because they most likely have moved on and totally lost feeling for you, plus it was useless. No need to love anyone when you have yourself and only you to count on.

Her eyes glanced at the front door when she heard a click and watched as both brothers, plus the pesky human she'd threatened the night before walk through the door, talking about the inhuman vampire.

"I'm telling you Damon, she has no humanity and won't hesitate to kill anyone. There's been bodis piling up ever since she's been here!" Elena exclaimed as she followed the boys into the living room, all surprised by the vampire sitting in their house.

"I take it that's her." Damon asks. Lilac smirks and nods.

"I am her. Oh and dear, I'm not the murderous rampaging killer your thinking of. Those are most likely Katherine's, or Damon's." Lilac answered and took a sip of the borbon bottle in her hand.

"She doesn't seem so bad." Damon comments. Lilac scoffs before pushing her hand into his chest and clutchs his heart. His breath hitched as he stared wide eyes at the girl.

"I'm not bad Damon, I'm worse." Lilac chuckled and tugged on his heart, causing him to groan in pain. A hand was placed on her shoulder in which she soon twisted around causing it to break.

She let go of Damon's heart and Stefan's arm and watched as they both began to heal themselves. Damon raged in fear and stomped his way towards Lilac, but she was already one step ahead when she whisked over to Elena, holding her head in a death grip, ready at any moment to be twisted, killing her.

"Wouldn't do that Damon, unless you want her dead." She warned as she twisted Elena's head at tad. Stefan's hand went up, him ready to negotiate with her but all Lilac did was laugh and throw Elena to the ground.

"I didn't come here to kill anyone, but she's right, I won't hesitate to. You all mean nothing to me." Lilac said as she cleaned off her hand of Damon's blood.

"Then why are you here?" Stefan's asks as he helped Elena off the ground and hugged her tight to his chest.

"You." She points to Stefan. "I've heard alot about you from Katherine's countless ranting about the sweet scrawny Stefan Salvatore. But I must say, scrawny was an understatement." Lilac taunts as she smirks, clearly checking the younger Salvatore out.

Damon rolled his eyes, clearly annoyed that Katherine was constantly talking about his brother.

"Don't worry Damon, Elena should fall your way soon." She winked. All of them became confused, Lilac couldn't believe they couldn't see it. But that was for another day.

"So I'll see you at the funeral, I'd really like to talk to you Elena, okay?" Lilac questioned, Elena nodded nervously.

Smiling at fearing the doppëlganger she exited the house, making her way into town to score some food and new clothing for the event

A few hours later Katherine made her way towards the Lockwood house, hoping to pass as Elena to get through.

Walking up the steps with confidence she was met with Tyler standing infront of the opened door. He shook her hand, Katherine giving him her best 'sad Elena' face.

"Hey Elena, thanks so much for coming." He thanks.

"You welcome. Sorry about your dad." Tyler nods and invites her in. She smirks before entering the building.

She walks around, watching people as they cry, mourning over the death of the mayor, or clinking glasses together in celebration of his life.

Many pictures were hung of him and his family in memory of him. Katherine touched a picture of the family lightly, feeling saddened for a second before shaking her head, ridding of the feeling and rememebering what she came for.

She walked out to the front and looked out into the distance, but was soon greeted by the presence of a certain Bennett witch.

"Hey Elena." Bonnie says giving her a comforting hand on her shoulder. Katherine puts on the act as Elena by making a soft, doe eyed face at Bonnie.

"Bonnie, hey. How are you?"

"I'm doing good. I just can't imagine how Tyler is feeling." Bonnie sighs. Katherine nods before rolling her eyes quickly.

"Hey I've got to go find Stefan, but I'll meet up with you later okay?" Bonnie nodded and clutched Elena's shoulder, instantly getting a dark feeling. A feeling she knew all too well.

Katherine strutted off, smirking at the feeling that had went through Bonnie's body as she entered an unknown room, no expecting to see Lilac standing there.

"I applaud your acting Katherine." Lilac's says as she fixes her earring. She smooths her dress before turning to her friend.

"Well its not that hard to pass as an emotional mess" Lilac chuckles before looking behind Katherine's head.

"Looks like we've got company." Bonnie stood behind Katherine with an angered look on her face.

"Why are you here?" Bonnie's asked. Lilac only smiled politely.

"I don't think I know what you-" Lilac stopped speaking because of the pain rushing through her head. Although it didn't do much damaged it still hurt, especially from a Bennett witch.

Katherine slammed Bonnie into the wall, fangs bare and eyes veined red. She snarls loudly, causing Bonnie to stop the spell on Lilac and open the door behind them, revealing Stefan.

Katherine looks at the opened doors, making a 'hm' look. "Impressive." She spoke as she retracted her fangs and veins.

"Katherine." Stefan spoke making her smile wickedly.

"Stefan, you look just as great as the last time I saw you." She moved towards him, and as she got to him she trailed he finger and cross his upper chest. He gave her a weird look before following.

That left the vampire and the witch in the room. Lilac wasted no time in smashing Bonnie's head into the wall and biting into her wrist, stuffing it into her mouth and forcing her there drink the vampires copper tasting blood.

Lilac ripped her wrist from the witches mouth and smirked at her plan.

"Don't ever try to expose us ever again or I'll rip you limb from limb. Try not to get killed today." Bonnie swallows thickly as Lilac walks out of the room leaving the terrified witch alone.

Lilac walks outside and sees Stefan and Katherine a few feet away from the Lockwood house. As she apporches them she watches Katherine stab Stefan with an iron rod.

"You hate me Stefan? That sounds like the beginning of a love story, not the end of one." She pulls the rod out of his stomach and stomps off.

Lilac walks up to Stefan and offered her hand. He grabbed it hesitating and before he knew it he was pressed up against the tree and the rob in his stomach once more.

"Thanks to you I have to deal with a crappy Katherine, and rhat wasn't on my list today." She snarls before pushing the rod deeper through and let's go. Stefan drops to the ground and Lilac walks off to find Katherine, because she didn't want to have to deal with her later.
