Chapter 6
Emily and I waited in line for the meet and greets. Post concert depression set in and I haven't even left yet. We're backstage, waiting in front of the door.
Youngbloods were coming out, crying and going through pictures on their phones. I couldn't help but laugh at one. Her makeup was all down her cheeks and she fanned her eyes, "He's too beautiful!"
Okay, I'm a huge fan, but that's a little too much.
It was almost 11 when we were up next. There was no one behind us or in front of us. There was no words for my excitement.
Emily shook my shoulder and jumped up and down, "I get to see Pete! I get to see Pete!"
Before I could calm her down, her phone rang. She answered it and looked at me.
"Hello?" she waited a while, "Yeah." "Ugh, does it have to be so early tomorrow?"
That didn't sound good.
"Yeah, it's fine I guess. I'm at a concert tonight. I'll fly in after..." "Okay, bye."
She pouted, "My boss is making me work tomorrow..."
I frown, "Aww, how come?"
"One of our waitresses quit and he needs a filler. I'll have to fly in tonight after this. You want to come?" she asked.
I shrugged, "I don't know, it's kind of late... I don't have a reason to leave yet. I'll just stay at a hotel and fly home tomorrow morning."
"Are you sure?" she asked, "I don't want to leave you alone in a different state."
I nod, "I'll be fine. I'll call you if something's up."
The door opened for us and I caught Patrick's eyes. Marcus eyed us from the corner of the room. Emily squealed quietly.
Patrick's warm smile nearly made me swoon, "Hey guys."
"Hi," I said for Emily and I. She was already drooling over Pete.
I stood awkwardly in front of the table and desperately tried to think of something to say.
Patrick looked from the boys to me, "You can get closer, you know," he chuckled.
I laughed a little and came closer. Patrick stood up and opened his arms. I gladly stepped in and hugged him.
"Nervous?" he asked me with the same cute smile. How embarrassing, he noticed.
"No," I played it off. Emily had already gotten Pete's hug and made her move towards Patrick.
I went around to Andy and Joe, who scooted in to hug me. I held out my Infinity on High album and asked them to sign it.
Andy nodded and signed it obeyingly. Joe took the album from Andy and signed his name.
"Sorry, I'm not very autograph worthy," Joe said, "Except on receipts. I'm good at that. Signing for pizzas and shit. It's worth it."
He handed me back the album.
"Yes, because the cashiers hoard all of your receipts to sell on eBay," Andy commented. I laughed and bumped into Pete.
"Hey," he smiled.
"Hi!" I said and hugged him. I glanced at Emily, who was still talking to Patrick.
I asked him to sign my album, which he willingly did.
"I love your lyrics," I told him as he was signing.
"Thanks, I like your shirt," he said.
I glanced down at my FOB shirt and blushed. Pete Wentz just complemented on my shirt.
"Thank you!" I said to him.
The only autograph I needed was Patrick's. I left Pete to sit back down with Andy and Joe and nervously walked towards Patrick. Emily noticed me approaching and went towards Joe.
"Hello again," he said and I pushed my album towards him.
He looked down at it, "Wow, Infinity on High, is this your favorite album?"
I nodded, it always has been, it always will be.
"Here you go," he said after signing it.
"Thank you," I said and clutched it in my fingers.
I stood there nervously.
"Memorable night?" he asked.
"Are you kidding? I'll remember this moment for the rest of my life." I told him.
"Then why do you seem so sad?" he frowned a little and asked.
I thought about it for a while, "Well, one, because it's over, and two, because you won't remember."
He looked at me in deep thought.
"Can we get a picture?" Emily interrupted and asked.
"Selfie!" Joe sprang up from his chair and said. We all laughed and stood against the wall.
Emily stood between Pete and Joe, smiling brightly. Pete put his arm around her and she looked like she could faint. Andy stood in the middle next to me and Patrick. I saw him glancing at me from the corner of my eye, like he didn't want to make a move towards me.
I turn to him and motion him closer, almost allowing him to. He smiled and put his arm around me, holding my shoulder. Butterflies flew around and beat at my stomach. I've never felt anything like it before.
The camera snapped a picture. The photographer told us he'd send the pictures to our phones in a few hours.
Then, it was time to go.
"Thanks guys," Emily said and waved.
"Yeah, thank you all, you guys did amazing out there."
"No problem, and thanks," Patrick fixed his hat and smiled.
We walked to the door and opened it. I looked back before it shut and caught just a glimpse of Patrick, watching me out.
