Prison Escape

The weekend was over once again. I went into the staff room and Pablo was the only one there; the others must've been on their way. “Hey,” I said.

“Oh, hi.” Pablo turned round.

I walked over and sat beside him. “It's good to see you again.” I smiled.

“You too, I just wish we could go on another date. Unfortunately, it'll be a while because you need to go on dates with the others first.”

“I know, I'd love to go on another date with you. But we have some time alone now.” I leaned closer to Pablo.

He closed the gap and we kissed — it still made my heart race and was just as perfect as our other kisses. I quickly pulled away when I heard the door open, then turned round and saw Alex. “Oh, this is scandalous, a boss and employee kissing at work. I'll have to report this.” Alex folded her arms.

“You're kidding, right?” I asked.

“She has to be, we all agreed that it was fine for me to date you, as well as the others,” Pablo said.

“Relax, Cara, it was a joke. Though, I wish I'd been the one kissing you.” Alex chuckled.

“Don't worry, you'll get one soon, I'm sure.”

“I can't wait.” She walked over and sat on the other side of me.

The door opened and Sam walked in with Sofia.

“You guys missed some juicy stuff,” Alex said.

“What are you talking about?” Sofia frowned.

“I just walked in on Pablo and Cara kissing.”

Sofia and Sam walked over and sat down opposite us.

“Aww, that's sweet. But, I'm slightly jealous, I want to kiss Cara,” Sofia said.

“I'm sure it'll happen soon,” I replied.

“Wow, I need to step up my game. I thought I'd be the first to kiss Cara at work. Showing up shirtless, bringing flowers, or love notes, what do you think?” Sam asked.

“Yes to all of the above.” I giggled.

“You're such a loser, Sam.” Alex laughed.

“Maybe, but I'm happy, since I've got a date with Cara coming up,” he said.

“Speaking of which, who am I going on a date with next?” I asked.

I couldn't wait for my next date, and it was exciting finding out who my next date would be with.

“Can it please be me? I'm not over seeing Pablo and Cara kissing. You two just heard about it, you didn't go through the trauma,” Alex said.

“Trauma?” I frowned.

“Not really, I just really want to go on a date with you,” Alex said.

“Sure, you go next, I can wait,” Sofia replied.

“Alright, you have the next date, but you have to buy me an ice cream,” Sam said.

“Deal.”

The alarm went off — Pauline told us that villains had escaped from prison. It was scary that they'd managed to get out, and maybe even more would escape in the chaos.

We quickly left the building, then Sam brought us to the prison entrance, where villains were running out. The guards were shooting at the escaping prisoners, some were hit and shocked, but others dodged or were resistant to the shock.

“Just get anyone you can, we need to be quick. We don't want these villains getting out,” Pablo said.

They all ran inside and started fighting the villains. There were so many villains trying to escape, it was hideous. A man got past and was running towards me; I didn't want him to escape. I ran towards the man, who was only a few inches taller than me, and pushed him backwards a bit. “Help!” I exclaimed.

“Move out of my way!” He yelled.

“No! Get back!”

He tried to punch me, but I managed to duck just in time. The man unexpectedly fell over, then Sofia became visible and put handcuffs on him.

“Oh my, thank you.”

“It's no problem.” Sofia smiled.

She dragged him back into the prison, and I hoped that I wouldn't have to fight anyone else escaping. More villains were being caught, then put back in the prison by the guards, but there were still a lot of them outside. I turned my attention to Sam, who was fighting a villain with ice powers; it was just as well the he could shield himself, or else he would've been frozen. He lifted the villain with his powers, then threw the man against a wall, which knocked him out. Alex was fighting a guy who could make lasers come out of his eyes — we'd encountered him before and put him here, he'd probably hate us more than most villains here.

Unfortunately, another villain was headed my way, maybe he'd be sort of easy to fight, like the last one who'd come near me. I stepped in his way, then tried to push him back, but he didn't budge, maybe because he was much taller than the last guy. He was very pale and had long black hair that went down just past his chin.

“I don't want to hurt you, just let me go,” he said.

“I can't just let you leave.” I shook my head.

“Please, I was only put here because I was doing my job.”

“What are you talking about?” I frowned.

“I killed corrupt people, police, politicians, those sorts. As well as horrible people who got away with horrendous crimes,” he replied.

If he was telling the truth, then I wanted to let him go — he was just like Dexter. But, he could've been lying.

“Are you telling the truth?” I asked.

“I swear on my life.”

“Don't make me regret it, go.”

“Thank you!” He rushed away.

I wondered if that was the right decision or not, only time would tell.

It was crazy, another criminal was headed straight for me, I couldn't believe how many had almost escaped. I stood in his way, ready to block him, but he shot something out of his hand; it hit me and I felt a horrible burning feeling in my stomach. He must've thrown acid on me, using his powers. Looking down, seeing the acid burning through my clothes and into my skin was disgusting and agonising. The horrible villain ran past me, but he didn't manage to get away because Sam levitated him back, then threw him against the wall. The pain was too much to bear, so I sat against the entrance to the prison, and hoped no one else would come my way.

I looked in and saw that there were only three criminals left to deal with. My teammates quickly dealt with them, then came out.

“Are you okay?” Pablo asked.

“No, one that nearly got away shot me with acid,” I replied.

“Oh my, that sounds so sore!” Sofia gasped.

“It is.”

“You'll heal soon, right?” Alex asked.

“Yeah, it shouldn't take too long.”

“Then let's get back to work, you can rest there,” Sam said.

“Yeah, we'll take a look when we get back.” Pablo nodded.

We all went back to work, then walked into the staff room.

“Right, let's take a look,” Alex said.

“Uh, I think I'll need to get changed first, it'll be hard to look at in my costume, since it's a jumpsuit,” I replied.

“Oh, I hadn't even thought of that.” She shook her head.

“We'll come in case you need any help,” Sofia said.

“Thanks,” I replied.

I went out with Alex and Sofia, and got spare clothes from my locker, then went to the changing rooms and got into normal clothes. We went back to the staff room and I sat, then lifted my shirt up.

“Oh my, I'm sorry, but I can't look, I can see your intestines!” Sofia exclaimed.

“Eww, gross. Can someone take a picture?” I asked.

“Can't you see it yourself?” Sam frowned.

“I saw a bit of pink sticking out slightly, but I want to see the whole thing.”

“Sure, I'll take it for you, but I'm surprised you want to see it.” Alex laughed. She got her phone, then took a picture for me, then handed her phone to me. It was so weird and gross, seeing my intestines with no skin covering them.

“I don't know how you're even awake right now.” Pablo shook his head. “How are you feeling?”

“Oh, I feel pretty awful. I'm dizzy and the pain is excruciating, but I'll heal soon, that's probably why I'm still conscious.”

“I'm sure the rest of us would've died from this,” Sofia said.

“Definitely, unless you healed us.” Alex nodded.

“Of course I'd heal any of you.”

“We should get a bandage to cover that up until you're healed,” Pablo said.

“Yeah, I don't really want to be looking at your internal organs.” Sofia shook her head.

“Sure, sounds good.”

“Do you want any painkillers or anything?” Sam asked.

“Yes, give me the strongest ones we have,” I replied.

“I'll go and get them.” Pablo got up.

“Thank you.”

He left the room, then came back a minute or two later with a syringe, filled with clear liquid, as well as a large white bandage.

“Uh, what's that?” My eyes widened. I hated getting injections, they were sore and grossed me out.

“It's fentanyl, a very strong painkiller. Most people wouldn't have access to it, we do because we're heroes,” Pablo said.

“Oh no, someone hold my hand and tell me when it's done.”

“I volunteer!” Sam exclaimed, then held your hand.

“I'll hold your other hand,” Sofia said, then took it in hers.

“Aww, now I don't have a hand.” Alex sighed.

“Well, you can distract me. I'd like to look at you instead of the needle.”

“Sure.” She smiled.

“Alright, I'm going to put the needle in now,” Pablo said.

“Wait! Are you trained to do this?” I asked.

“Yes, I have some medical training in case of emergencies. Not that I've had to use it much since you joined us.”

“Okay, do it,” I replied.

Pablo put the needle in and it was a bit sore, but nowhere near as bad as the pain in my stomach.

“That's it done, you should feel better in a few minutes,” Pablo said.

“Thank you.”

“Is it okay if I put this bandage on?” Pablo held up a large white bandage.

“Of course.” I nodded, then leaned forward so that he could wrap it around me. He put the bandage around my exposed intestines, then tied it firmly so that it wouldn't move, but not too tight.

“Is that comfortable?” He asked.

“It is, thanks.” I nodded.

“How's the pain?” Sam asked.

“Not as bad as it was, I think those painkillers are working.” I smiled. Everything was much less intense than it had been, and I felt a lot more calm.

****

A few hours passed, and there was no more pain at all. I'd stayed behind when my teammates were called out for emergencies because of my condition. Everyone was in the staff room again. “I think I might've fully healed,” I said.

“Oh, that's great,” Sofia replied.

“Let's check,” Pablo said, then he undid the bandage. “Yep, you wouldn't even know anything happened, it's amazing.”

“Aww, I'm so glad.” I smiled.

“So am I, it was hard seeing you in pain,” Sam said.

“Definitely, and the injury was so horrible.” Alex nodded.

“Well, it's gone now, but we still have that picture for the memory.” I laughed.

“I never want to see it!” Sofia exclaimed and shook her head.

“I won't make you look at it, don't worry… I've just remembered, I forgot to say that a prisoner escaped.”

“What?” Pablo's eyes widened.

“Sorry. I tried to stop him, but he was really strong. He didn't hurt me and said he was in jail for killing bad people… I let him go.” I hoped none of them would be mad at me.

“I'm sure he lied, he probably just wanted to escape. Don't feel bad, it's on all of us for not seeing him get away.” Alex patted my arm.

“Thanks, but I don't think he was lying.”

“I understand why you'd let him leave, given your history. We'll just have to hope that he doesn't endanger anyone and go after him if he does anything,” Pablo said.

“It's not a big deal, you did what you thought was right. Anyway, it's better to let him go and not get hurt the way you did with that acid guy. If he causes any trouble, we'll catch him,” Sam said.

“Yeah, don't worry about it.” Sofia nodded.

“Thank you.”

“We could check the news to see who the prisoner is. Then we'll find out if he was telling the truth or not,” Sam said.

“That's a good idea.” I nodded.

Sam got his phone and checked the Internet for news about the prisoner, which he found very quickly. “The guy is called Kyle Miller. He's an assassin who sort of has a code, since he only goes after corrupt officials and criminals who escape justice, so he wasn't lying.”

“Oh my god!” Sofia exclaimed and her eyes were wide and her mouth was open.

“What?” I frowned.

“Kyle is the one who my ex left me for!” She gritted her teeth.

“Wow, that sucks, I'm sorry,” I replied.

“It's not your fault, you had no way of knowing. I just hate him and her so much.”

“That's understandable, I would hate them, too,” Sam said.

“As soon as he starts killing again, we'll track him down,” Pablo replied.

“Definitely, he won't get away.” Alex nodded.

Work was over, so we were all walking out together. “I was going to have our date over the weekend, but I think we could have it now because of all the stress today. What do you think?” Alex asked.

“Sure, where are we going?”

“I thought it would be fun to go to one of those places where you break things. Then we can go to my house for a while.”

“That sounds fun.” I smiled. I'd always wanted to go to one of those places, and today was the perfect day for it, since I was mad at that acid villain.

“You two have fun, I'll see you both tomorrow,” Pablo said.

“See you tomorrow.” I hugged him. Then Sam and Sofia said goodbye and I gave them a hug before they left.

I followed Alex to her car, then got in; it was a lovely purple sports car.

“I'm excited to see your house, Pablo was saying I'd love it.”

“Oh, you definitely will.” Alex nodded.

“Will you tell me why, or is it a surprise?”

“It's a surprise.”

“So, are you going to make yourself look like someone else, since we're in public?” I asked.

“Yeah, it'll just make things easier,” she replied.

“That makes sense, it's very easy to recognise you.”

“I know, I don't want anyone bothering us on our date.”

“Yeah, that would be a bit annoying.” I nodded.

“Have you ever been to one of these places?”

“No, have you?”

“Once or twice, they're fun,” Alex said.

"I hope I actually manage to break something.” I laughed.

“I'm sure you will, anyway, you've gotten stronger.”

“I suppose I have, I managed to push a villain today.”

“That's great! Maybe you'll be able to fight alongside us soon.”

“Oh, I don't know about that.” Going up against a villain sounded terrifying, especially when I didn't have any powers that would aid me in fighting.

“You could give it a go, even if you got hurt, you'd heal. I think you're ready,” Alex said.

“Alright, I'll try.”

It didn't take long to get to the place; before we got out of the car, Alex made herself look like a man. Now her skin was black and she had short black hair — she was very handsome. “Wow, you look hot.” I smiled.

“Thanks, I'd hate it if you found me ugly.”

“Oh, I think that's nearly impossible. You'd have to make yourself look ugly on purpose,” I replied.

“I'd never do that.” She laughed. We got out of the car, then went inside. “I'll pay for it,” Alex said.

“Are you sure?”

“Of course.” Alex paid, then we put on the protective gear and went inside. There were loads of things to break, like a table, chairs, a microwave, a TV and some other objects. “You go first, you can pretend you're whacking that villain from earlier, or someone else who you hate.” She smiled.

“Thanks.” I lifted a large hammer, which was a bit heavy. I hit the TV repeatedly, smashing the screen and making it fall off the table. The whole time, I was imagining that the TV was that villain who hurt me, as well as Randall; it felt great to release all of my anger. “Okay, I need a break, your turn.” I stopped and took a few deep breaths in.

“Great.” Alex hit the table and it instantly broke in half. She smashed a few other things around the room — I loved watching her show off her strength, she was incredible, and her muscles were huge in this form, just like her normal self.

“Your strength is really attractive,” I said.

“Thanks, I'm glad you think so.” She took a break from destroying items. “A lot of people are intimidated by my strength… some women wouldn't date me because they thought I was too manly.”

“Wow, that's crazy.” I shook my head. “You're beautiful, and your strength is beautiful. I don't think you're manly, not that it would be a bad thing.”

“I suppose they say that because I'm very tall and strong.” Alex shrugged.

“Maybe, but I love your height and strength,” I replied.

“You're just so sweet.” She smiled and walked closer to me. I noticed Alex leaning down, so I closed my eyes and we kissed; it was sweet but full of passion. “I've wanted to do that for a while.”

“Same.” I giggled.

“I was actually worried that you'd never want to date me,” Alex said.

“Why?” I frowned. It didn't make any sense, Alex was so caring and protective, as well as being gorgeous.

“Your ex had the same power as me, so I thought that I would remind you of him, or scare you.”

“You're nothing like him, you use your powers for good, but he didn't. I don't think you could ever scare me, you may look intimidating at times, but you're really just a big, cuddly teddy bear.”

“Thanks.” She giggled. “I also didn't know if you'd find me attractive because of my unique looks… in school, the other kids called me a demon.”

“That's horrible! I love the way you look, you're gorgeous. If others can't see that, then they're idiots, and it's their loss.”

“That's true, and your gain.” Alex smiled.

“Definitely, I love having you all to myself.” I hugged her.

“Unfortunately, I have to share you with the others.” She laughed.

“Well, I'm all yours right now.”

“I'm glad.”

“But, it's weird being on a date with you when you don't look like yourself, like I know it's you in there, but you don't look like my Alex… not that I'm complaining, you still look incredible. I love seeing your different looks,” I said.

“I know what you mean, if I was in your position, I'd find it weird as well.”

“I understand why you have to do it, though. I'm glad I'm not as famous as you and Sam, I'd hate not being able to go out in public.”

“Well, I don't have to worry about it because I can just disguise myself, but it's harder for Sam. Sometimes, even when he puts on a disguise, people recognise him,” Alex replied.

“I'm just glad no one recognised him at the Taylor Swift concert.”

“Oh, I know, that would've been a nightmare!”

“Definitely.” I nodded. “You know, I watched a movie about superheroes with Pablo. It was about a hero dating her boss, and they were both heroes. They ended up breaking up because of the fame and pressure. I mean, they had a happy ending, which was great, but it did make me wonder how we'd deal with the public finding out about our relationships,” I said.

“Well, we should probably keep it a secret for as long as possible, but if they find out, then fuck them. I learned years ago not to care about what people think, other than anyone who's close to me. You can't please everyone, and I'm sure most people wouldn't understand our dynamics.” She shook her head.

“I hope I'll be able to have that attitude if everyone finds out about who I'm dating.”

“We'll all be here for you.”

“Thanks, want to get back to destroying stuff?”

“Sure, you go ahead,” Alex replied with a smile.

I went back to hitting objects around the room, and it was really fun—definitely what I needed after my tough day.

****

Once we were finished, Alex started driving me to her house; she looked like herself again, since we weren't in public. “I'm excited to see where you live, as well as this big surprise.” I smiled.

“I don't think you'll ever want to leave.” Alex chuckled.

“That wouldn't surprise me, I wanted to stay at Sam and Pablo's houses forever.” I laughed.

“Oh, that was funny when you didn't want to leave Sam's house. It's a shame we couldn't all stay over at his house that night.”

“I know, but he's weird about his weekends.”

“Maybe, he just wants some downtime alone with his family,” Alex said and shrugged.

“Yeah, that seems likely.” I nodded. “It's still a bit weird, though.”

“It is, but oh well, what can you do?”

“I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who's seen him at the weekend, but it wasn't for very long.”

“He was just out for lunch, wasn't he?” Alex asked.

“Yep, but he didn't stay for long. He went to see his family.”

“He must be very close to them.”

“Yeah, I'd say so,” I replied.

“I love my family, but it's hard to see them because they're so far away.” She sighed.

“I'd hate the flight time, I couldn't deal with it.” I shook my head. Ever since my parents had died in a plane crash, I hadn't gone on another, apart from the time I'd had to get people out of the one that almost crashed. It would take a lot to get me to go on a plane to travel somewhere.

“I find planes so uncomfortable, I get such a bad headache and nausea,” Alex said.

“I haven't been on a plane in years, I hate them so much. I get the same feelings as you, but if I tried to travel somewhere by plane, I'd probably have a panic attack on top of all that.”

“Well, I hope you won't have to go on a plane anytime soon. But, I would like you to visit my family with me sometime,” she said.

“I'd love that, but you'll have to help me with the plane.”

“Of course I will. Anyway, you'll be with the strongest person alive.”

“That's very true.” I smiled.

We ended up leaving London and were on country roads; Alex must've lived quite far from work.

“We're going really out of the way, you're not planning to kill me, are you?” I laughed.

“Yep, I'm going to pull over and add you to my pile of bodies.” She chuckled.

After a while, we drove up a small, bumpy, lane, which lead to a large barn, fields and a medium sized house.

“Oh my, do you live on a farm?”

"I do.”

“I can't wait to see the animals!” I grinned.

“You'll love them, you can pet all of them.”

“That's great.” We got out of the car, then I followed Alex into the barn, it was filled with cute animals. There were different pens inside, one had sheep, another had cows, there were also rabbits, goats, horses and llamas. It was incredible. It felt like all farm animals imaginable were in here. I went over and petted the fluffy, warm sheep. “Oh, I love it,” I said.

“I knew you would. I love coming home to my animals after work.”

“I'd love it, too. You don't kill them for meat, do you?”

“I could never! I love them all too much!” Alex exclaimed.

“Good, I love farms that don't kill their animals.” I moved on and petted the llamas, and they were super soft. I was glad they were friendly, since I'd seen so many videos of them spitting at people. “Are all your animals this friendly?”

“Of course, I raised most of them since they were babies.”

“I'm glad, they're all just so cute.”

“They certainly are.” She smiled.

“Who looks after them when you're at work?”

“I hired people to work here. I don't really do any cleaning, I just feed them and spend time with them when I'm at home. I leave a lot of the other stuff to the workers.”

“I get that, I wouldn't want to be cleaning anything up either,” I replied.

“Yeah, it's pretty gross.”

I went round petting all the different animals with Alex; it was the best farm I'd ever been to, there were so many different friendly, cute animals, and I got to pet all of them. The date couldn't have gone better.

“Before you go, do you want some ice cream made from my farm milk?”

“That would be great… actually, is it safe?” I frowned. It worried me a bit because unless the milk was pasteurised, it could make me sick.

“Completely safe, the milk is pasteurised here on the farm,” Alex replied.

“Then I'd love some.” We went inside, then Alex got the ice cream out of the freezer. We sat at the small dinning table together. “I can't wait to taste it.”

“It's amazing, it's my favourite ice cream.” She smiled.

“So, are your animals free range?”

“Of course, I let all of them roam around outside. The chicken eggs are delicious because of it, far better than ones in the shops.”

“I could certainly believe that, my friend had family who owned chickens, and their eggs were the best,” I replied.

“They really are the best.” Since the ice cream was softer, Alex got some for me and herself into bowls.

I ate the ice cream and it was delicious; I'd definitely be coming back for more cute animals and ice cream. “You're right, I don't want to leave here.” I laughed.

“Well, you can come here whenever you want,” Alex said.

“Thanks, I love this farm and the ice cream.”

“So do I, I'm so glad I bought this place.”

“What made you decide to buy it?”

“I love animals and wanted to own a farm so that I could see cute animals when I want.”

“I'd love a place like this, animals are the best,” I said.

“I think people are weird when they don't like animals.”

“I can understand not liking some animals, or being scared of them, but to hate all is weird. I don't really trust people who don't like animals.”

“I wouldn't either. They even say that animals are very sensitive to people. If any of mine reacted badly to someone, I definitely wouldn't trust them,” Alex replied.

“Yeah, I've heard that happens.” I nodded.

The ice cream was finished, and it was quite late, so Alex drove me home. She walked with me to my door.

“I hope you loved the date as much as I did,” Alex said.

“It was incredible, just what I needed after all the stress today.” I smiled.

“I'm glad, I'll see you tomorrow.” Alex leaned down and kissed me. It was nice to kiss her when she looked like herself.

“See you tomorrow,” I said. The date with Alex had been perfect, I'd enjoyed bashing objects, and loved all the animals at the farm. I was excited for my next date with either Sofia or Sam.
