Truce: Deku x Reader x Dabi

“(Y/n)!” Midoriya called your name in a sweet enthusiastic voice. His eyes were closed with glee and a hand outraised above his head of bushy green in a welcoming wave. You heard the call, spinning around on your heel and tried your all so hardest to mimic the boy of radiating hope. “(Y/n)!” Midoriya called again as he had reached your place. Some of his/your friends tagged behind him. “(Y/n), want to go bowling with us? It’s been forever since the last time we’ve done anything together out of school,” the green haired boy asked of you in the nicest way he possibly could. Iida, Uraraka, and Todoroki gave you that reassuring pleading look that practically yelled from the tops of their lungs that you should tag along.

All you could do was playfully frown, “I’m sorry,” you apologized shocking the group. “I’ve already made plans with another one of my friends outside of school. Maybe another time-”

“Can’t he come along?” Midoriya quickly tagged onto the end of your comment taking you by surprise. “You seem to be hanging out with him every weekend. Either you’re purposely ditching us or you both are dating or… Something,” your heart began to ache. You really upset Midoriya, and his iconic under the breath muttering didn’t tell you so. Not a word that leaked from between his lips made any ounce of sense.

You playfully punched Midoriya on the shoulder, “We’re not dating Midoriya cheer up!”

“O-Okay,” Midoriya blinked.

“And it’s not like my friend hates you all either. That’s definitely not the case! Just we’ve been friends since forever and he’s only free on the weekends. Maybe on a different day when we don’t already have plans alright? We’re eating out tonight,” A whole lot of lies had to be leaked just to make your friends think wholesome of you. They clearly seemed to buy each and every one. Uraraka and Iida were still smiling, Todoroki still wore that deadpan expression he always wore, and Midoriya regrets ever speaking up about your other friend. It wasn’t his place.

“Okay yeah, please keep next weekend open for us all to hang out!” Midoriya forced a smile upon his freckled soft face. Again, he must feel tortured. You both rarely hand out anymore besides the class exercises in school in which he normally gravitates to be your partner. It was rather depressing it came down to school being the only time available to be together. Midoriya were the best friend a person could ask for. The boy would go extremely out of his way to make a person happy or to pull through with simple tasks. You knew Midoriya wanted to be the next Number One Hero just like All Might, everyone knew that. Just such a hard to grasp yet adorable dream made you adore him just that much more. Yet, you wouldn’t doubt it if Midoriya does take the place at number one.

“Yeah,” You agreed. “Next weekend for sure,” you flashed a genuine smile on your end, a crisp ten dollar bill clasped within one of your hands. “Have fun you guys!” And you marched away. The group of friends all waved back. Midoriya as well, just not as enthusiastic as the others.

“Crap I’m late,” you grumbled double tapping your phone screen as it popped to life flashing the time on the lock screen. “Midoriya made me late, hope he doesn’t get mad…” You sighed and resumed to holding the steamy cardboard pizza box with both of your hands, the cell phone sitting atop the box. Also, too bad that the meeting place was halfway across town. He can deal with waiting a few extra minutes, if not, you’ll just march away from him with the pizza and all. You can easily consume an entire pizza, just your weekly allowance from your parents could only afford one.

“Oh Dabi!” You sang upon entering the alleyway. He wasn’t there. Nothing was there besides rats scurrying around. “Impatient lil’ shit…”

“I’m right here,” the boy stepped out from the shadows with a mildly annoyed expression occupying the scarred flesh of his face. His darker choice in clothing expertly blended him within the shadows of the alley, only his electric blue eyes could illuminate the darkness.

You couldn’t help but smile. “Thanks for waiting for me!”

Dabi smirked, stepping away casually to lead you to another part of the alleyway where he had a fire burning with brilliant flames of blues, whites, and purples to keep you both warm in the cold of night as it neared winter day after day. Your breath was visible in the air until you stepped within a ten feet radius of the fire bringing warmth upon your being. “Well… Why wouldn’t I wait?” He asked of you.

“Exactly,” you giggled taking a seat upon the ground. “Wait… Why do you wait for me?” You asked in return.

“You’re one of the last people from my past that I still communicate with. It’d be foolish of me to sever this friendship,” Dabi’s claim was laced with complete and utter truth sadly enough. All of his former friends think of Dabi as deceased and his family well… You never get direct answers. The only reason how you’ve came to be friends with Dabi’s former identity was through his mother before she left the Todoroki family. She were friends with your mother and they both wanted you and Shoto to be friends because you both were of the same age but more you gravitated to Dabi, the oldest of all the Todoroki siblings. Dabi was suffering with a hardcore case of depression ever since you’ve known him but nowadays he seems to be cured. Endeavor was really abusive to most if not his entire family, resulting in Dabi leaving the family and turning to the League of Villains for closure.

It all comes down to today. Every weekend you pick up some food and meet up with Dabi in an area he considers as safe for the two of you to meet up and converse for a few hours. He doesn’t enjoy the fact that you’re a pro hero in the making, but he can’t stop you. Much like him to you, you don’t enjoy his position as a member of the League of Villains but allow him to do so anyways. Dabi doesn’t ever bring up his work or ask you questions about school, you do the same. Mutual respect kept the entire relationship in tact. It was the only time a hero and a villain could be true respectful individuals.

After a few hours of conversing, Dabi decided to call it a night once you started to fall into a slumber every now and again after the pizza was consumed. You snapped back into reality and got to your feet. Then came the drowsy shuffling of feet before you held out your arms to him asking for your usual hug goodbye. He unlatched his purpled scarred arms from his side as you wrapped your own around his skinny waist. He rested his arms loosely around your own. “Good Night Dabi… See you next week,” you yawned into his chest.

“See ya,” he brought his head down and gently kissed the top of your head. That was a true first, yet you didn’t dare to comment back just to unwrap yourself from his beaten frame and wave goodbye.

You returned back to UA pretty late into the night, they almost told you to go home since you broke the curfew but let you within the gates anyways. So you made quicktime and returned to your class dorm before sneaking within your own personal room and flopping down upon the bed. Not even a second later, your door were knocked upon with a great urgency. “It’s open!” You yawned once again. The door opened up to reveal Midoriya, he were pale, green eyes enlarged like he were mentally scared out of his usually joyful mind. “Um… Hi Midoriya,” you casually greeted your best friend knowing he’ll come clean any second now.

“Hi…” Midoriya’s voice cracked like a boy just hitting puberty. “Have fun tonight (Y/n)?” He asked out of the blue.

“Yeah,” you exclaimed sitting up within the bed. “We had a bonfire after we ate. What about you and the others? Who won the game of bowling?”

“Oh… Iida won,” Midoriya snickered. “Uraraka kept accidentally activating her quirk whenever she touch the ball and Todoroki sort of just went with the flow of things,” now even yourself laughed to the mention of Uraraka’s unfortunate misfortune thanks to her quirk.

“I would’ve paid to see that,” you admit.

“But we got done rather early. I had some time on my hands and…” Midoriya trailed off. He were looking as if he were about to mentally collapse from exhaustion or fear. “I… I saw that you were talking with that hellfire guy from the League of Villains,” and your blood ran cold. Everything was over now that Midoriya knows what you’ve been doing for months on end.

“Please tell me you haven’t told anybody?” You were about to combust into a fit of heartbroken tears.

“I haven’t,” Midoriya reassured with a gentle smile as he stepped before you and sat beside you on the bed. “I have a few questions… Are you betraying UA? And if not… Who is that guy?” You were shocked to say the least, Midoriya was actually giving you a chance to come clean rather than going to the authorities first. You just wanted to scoop up Midoriya a kiss him.

“I’m not betraying UA, and he isn’t betraying the League. Dabi and I have been friends for forever and we try to hook up whenever possible. Hope you understand,” you came clean, Midoriya understood where you were coming from and wore a reassuring smile that brightened your day.

“Nice to know,” Midoriya was flustered before he wore a completely serious face. “You need to stop meeting him (Y/n). Not only is it isn’t safe but what if the Pros learned about this. They’ll turn you in!”

“Deku!” You squeaked.

“Either stop meeting Dabi or I’ll go to All Might or Mr. Aizawa myself!”

Alright! I had a lot of fun with this! The optional endings for Midoriya and Dabi are uploaded for you to read.
