Quirkless Wonder: Kaminari x Reader Part 2

Later on that Friday evening, your brother’s classmates took it upon themselves to make your short visit worth remembering. They threw in movies, offered to play video games, board games or even card games when in the end you settled for a few short games of spoons. You weren’t one for involved activities believe it or not, you prefered everything to be quiet and mentally stimulating like a craft or reading books. Probably because your family wasn’t all too out there most of the time. Two, technically three siblings now out of your four siblings were already moved out and had lives of their own. Probably would’ve been a better idea to get more involved with Shoto’s friends, it’ll be a long time before you get to have time with people like them again…

“Here,” Todoroki, calm as ever, held a steaming ceramic bowl of ramen before your face. He enjoyed that little twinkle in your eyes that came with his appearance. Excited as ever, you took the shallow bowl from the half and half boy with a gentle smile before setting it down upon the floor to cool down for a moment.

“Thank you Shoto,” you thanked him for the meal, earning attention from his classmates who have disbanded to do their own activities for a while now.

“Damn that looks good,” Mineta drooled unable to pull his hungry gaze from off your being.

“Her or the food?” Jiro and Sero asked in unison with a half lidded glare knowing all too well what the little pervert’s true intentions were.

Mineta snapped back into reality, offended to say the least. “I meant the food. But Miss. Todoroki looks delicious too-”

There was a flash of red. “Bite your tongue before I burn it off,” Todoroki warned holding up a ball of flames in his pale left palm. The class has never seen this protective side of their icy-hot classmate before, taking a mental note to resist from flirting with his lovable sister cherishing their lives above all else.

Kirishima and Kaminari threw themselves over the back of the couch, “the ramen does smell awesome,” Kirishima points out with a small whine.

“Todoroki can you make us some?” Kaminari begged flashing his radiant yellow puppy dog eyes.

“I suppose I can make dinner tonight,” Todoroki offered without a thought being the nice male that he was. “Help me make enough for the class and I’ll teach you how to make it,” the offer of cooking earned half of the class to jump up from their spots in the living room of the dorm eager to learn a new recipe. The other half remained in their spots disinterested or too lazy to get up. Kaminari being one of the few, he looked over the back of the couch down to you who sat on your knees blowing on the bowl of ramen in hopes of being able to digest it faster.

“Aren’t you gonna go help out Shoto?” You suggested nicely, knowing the blonde was one of those who begged for your brother’s delectable ramen.

“I’m too hungry to move…” He over exaggerated, resting his cheek on the back of the couch with a sigh.

“More of a reason to go and cook,” you giggled. “This is my favorite meal Shoto would always cook at home. Let’s just say I ask for it often, I never get tired of it!”

“That good huh?” The blonde perked up, his golden eyes glittering with excitement.

“Yeah,” you stood up from the wooden floor. You took hold of the wooden chopsticks poking out from the bowl of noodles and picked out a few golden strings letting them dangle from the nose of the chopsticks. “Wanna try?” An offer from your better side.

Kaminari glanced off to the side rubbing the back of his neck. “I mean if you’re offering.”

“Come on don’t be shy, you’ll love it,” Kaminari knew you to be a shy girl, but once you’re comfortable you’re so cute, warm, and inviting. The blonde couldn’t hold himself back and opened up his mouth allowing you to feed him with that angelic smile of yours. Kaminari hummed with delight and munched on the ramen, it was too delicious. “I knew you’d like it,” you sang and offered up the entire bowl to the blonde. “You can have the bowl, I have no problem making more.”

“Thank you!” Kaminari exclaimed. “But I kind of feel dirty taking this from you… Wanna share?”

“Nah,” you waved. “Clearly you love it more than I do.”

“You’re too nice.”

You hesitated, before smiling turning away. “Thanks.” After dinner on friday you decided to hit the sack, welcoming the first day of the weekend visit with your loving brother and his friends.

The next morning welcomed a new day full of possibilities.

“Todoroki,” Kaminari hesitantly poked his head into the bathroom, catching the half and half male to glance over his shoulder in the process of brushing his teeth. “Can I ask you something?”

“I guess…” Todoroki spoke after spitting out the contents of his mouth into the porcelain sink before him. “What?”

“Your sister is awesome… Do you have a problem with me dating her?” Immediately Kaminari held up his arms like a shield for his face with eyes clenched shut expecting all too well to get doused with flames or concealed in bone chilling ice. Instead, a moment passed and nothing came. The blonde peeled his eyes open, peeking through the opening between his arms to the calm and collected Todoroki.

“She’s happy around you, so… Yeah I don’t care,” Todoroki shrugged not going in depth about his reply.

“Really?” Kaminari snapped, unable to believe his reply.

“Um… I don’t lie,” Todoroki found this conversation pointless.

“But you threatened Mineta yesterday.”

“Yeah… It’s Mineta we’re talking about,” no sense in explaining that decision.

“Okay I get your point,” Kaminari agreed.

“Listen,” Todoroki sighed. “(Y/n) is my sister, but it’s not my say who she does and doesn’t date. The only thing I have to say is that if you hurt her, and I don’t mean you hurt her with a breakup, then don’t expect to live past the next day. Other than that, I have no problem. We good?” It didn’t take much thinking, Kaminari heard your brother out and weighed out the ups and downs. Pro, it sounds like Shoto will do whatever it takes to keep you happy. Pro, as long as Kaminari doesn’t cheat or treat you poorly, Shoto won’t hunt him down. Con, with everyone living in the dorms, it may be difficult to visit you on a regular basis. Con, he’s only known you for one day, is asking for your heart too soon?

“Yeah, we’re good,” Kaminari held up one hand expecting a handshake in which Todoroki agreed to. “But… I’m gonna see how this weekend goes before pulling the trigger.”

“Wise,” Todoroki complements and leaves the bathroom. “(Y/n) hates anything loud and pushy people.”

“Oh! Oh thanks!!!” Kaminari followed him out in a hurry to conduct himself a plan for the weekend. After a long hour’s worth of planning, the weekend was set. Today, Todoroki had plans of his own to do with you today, which meant Sunday belonged to Kaminari alone.

“Anyone up for a movie?” Kaminari offered to his little friend group.

“Only if you make popcorn!” Ashido cheered.

“Yes… Just like I planned,” Kaminari made a fist wearing an accomplished smirk. The blonde turned to you, sitting on the floor as always, shuffling through a magazine you received the night before. “Hey (Y/n) wanna help?”

“Oh… No thank you,” you apologetically smiled. “I’m too hungry to move.”

“Hey isn’t that what I said Friday?” Kaminari asked.

“Yes!” You giggled pressing a finger to your lips. “I’ll help with the popcorn, I’m not that lazy.”

“Cool!” Kaminari ran into the kitchen, you giggled again and followed after him but stopped dead in your tracks finding the blonde to be scattering popcorn kernels across the kitchen counter instead of pouring them into a pot. “C’mon (Y/n), wanna see how I make popcorn?”

“I’m… Scared,” you hesitantly approached the counter. Kaminari had his hands held out, his fingertips buzzing with small volts of static electricity. Once his mode of cooking the popcorn had finally settled into your brain, you took a few steps back for safety. The blonde allowed a bolt of static to jump from his fingers to dance across the kernels where one after the other they jumped into the air with a great loud popping noise. It was raining popcorn and you couldn’t help but to laugh and try to catch each piece into a big bowl you dug out of the cupboard. By the end of the cycle, the bowl was overflowing onto the ground, popcorn sat within your hair like snowflakes in the winter.

“This was so fun!” You cheered, catching Shoto’s attention from the living room as he has never heard you scream so loud in all his life. “Oh my god Kaminari you’re so fun! Wish I could do that!”

“Maybe you can,” Kaminari suggested, holding out his hand. “People are conductors, you know?” You blinked, studying his hand carefully. Remembering back to a lesson in school about electricity. It order for the source to move, it needs a conductor, which is in this case you, in order to move and complete the circuit. But why you?

“You… You better not hurt me,” your smile never faltered as one hand came into contact with his own.

“You won’t trust me, now hold my other hand,” Kaminari instructed as well as holding out his free hand. You joined yours with his and suddenly the buzzing electricity went from one half of your body to the other as you completed the circuit, all by joining hands too! What topped it all off, was that you felt your hair stand on end. Best day ever!
