Potato: Tamaki x Reader
Blood, sweat, tears and it wasn't even noon. The big and friendly Fatgum and his interns have apprehended a handful of criminals, patrolled the Japan ghettos and probably more things to list but those boys were mighty forgetful with their brawn for brains and rumbling stomachs.
Even Fatgum wasn't his large welcoming balloon self. He was more slim, covered in muscles, but slim and intimidating. His round bulbous quirk relies on his immense food intake alone. The more fattening the food, the better the effect.
Kirishima was too exhausted to harden his body.
Tamaki couldn't use his quirk either. He's running on an empty stomach and a quirk that relies on the types of food you consume makes everything that much more difficult.
The second the clock struck twelve, Fatgum snapped his fingers with one thing on the mind. "Alright my boys! I know just the place for lunch," Fatgum's knees nearly hugged his chest while he marched. Tamaki kept his head low, but Kirishima couldn't help but to notice the faint pink to dust his mentor's chiseled cheeks.
Kirishima began to mimic his mentor with a high knee march. He even went as far as to match his pacing. "Where we going Fat? You sure look excited!"
"Let's just say the owner of a restaurant nearby is a lady I love," Fatgum flashed his pearly whites in a large smile. And the boys thought he'd smile with ultra radiance around them.
"Does ol' Fatgum got a girlfriend?" Kirishima sang.
"Well she is a girl and I love her lots!" Fatgum let out a belly busting laugh.
The Pro had led his boys to a well known restaurant in town. Although Kirishima and Tamaki weren't sure why it was such an iconic place in town. The food was great, but nothing memorable. Maybe it was the name? Up on the black shingled roof has the name Fatty's in red cartoonish letters and not a parking space to be spared. Upon entering the establishment, a tall bronze chalk sign that read 'Please Wait To Be Seated' stood where many patrons conversed. However, Fatgum shed himself of his black eye mask and bypassed the sign entirely as if he owned the place. He sat at a table in the middle of the homey dining room with a reserved notecard. Kirishima sat down without a word but Tamaki felt wrong to ignore the sign and stood by the door forcefully tugging on his white hood to hide his embarrassment.
Tamaki flinched to the hand that held his shoulder firmly. "Hou're with Fatgum aren't you?" A girl spoke in the most comforting voice. She was bent at the knee slightly, trying to look under Tamaki's white hood to see his flustered face. "That's Fatgum's reserved table. Nothing to worry about," she reassured and escorted the anxiety driven boy to the marbled square table.
Upon sitting, Fatgum smiled from ear to ear with closed eyes as he was known best. "Been a while Fatty... Its always nice to see you here!" The waitress gave Kirishima and Tamaki a laminated menu and sprang herself upon the pro hero in great big hugs.
Kirishima leaned over towards Tamaki with a hand to one side of his mouth. "I think that's the girl," he whispered.
"She looks a bit young for him," Tamaki commented back uneasily. She definitely wasn't an adult yet, maybe sixteen but no older. Her face was youthful.
"I love you my lil' Dumpling," Fatgum kissed the waitress on the cheek and adjusted her to stand before his apprentices. "Boys! This is my beautiful little girl, (Y/n)!" Their mentor proudly announced.
"Little..." Tamaki Blinked.
"Girl..." Kirishima completed Tamaki's broken thought.
"She's my wonderful daughter! I gave her this restaurant since she can't use my quirk," your father pats you on the stomach. "She has the smallest stomach in the universe! Nobody believes we're related." Well, Fatgum wasn't wrong there.
"Says you," you laughed. "I like to eat and all but I can't force myself to shovel over twenty pounds of food into my mouth like you do on a daily basis. Which reminds me, I better go warn the cooks you're here. I'll be back to take orders," you waved at your father and took an exit.
"It's so awesome that you have a daughter Fat!!!" Kirishima smacked the table startling Tamaki.
"That means one more person who's too much for me..." Tamaki's lip quivered.
"I saw you blushing when you first saw her," Kirishima cocked a brow. Tamaki's still blushing actually. Did he finally find a girl he likes?
"Well I... I-I-I don't see her as a... As a Potato," Tamaki admits and it proved Kirishima's assumptions correct.
"Do you see me as a potato?" Kirishima wondered.
"You're a shark potato..."
"A manly shark potato!"
You walked in at the weirdest time. These boys are all over potatoes! Potato this, potato that. "Okay potato lovers, want an order or ten of fries to start off with or..."
"I'll take anything with octopus..." Tamaki sighed trying to avoid eye contact as usual.
"And one of everything for Dad..." You wrote the order upon your notepad and skipped to the kitchen. Almost an hour later, you came out from the kitchen and gave the heroes their food before you sat down in the empty seat to Tamaki's left.
"Wh-why are you sitting there of all places?" Tamaki nearly face planted onto the table but his plate of octopus dumplings kept him from doing so. Don't waste a good meal.
"I thought you wouldn't mind if I had lunch with my dad," should've asked first, but you'll move.
"It's fine g-g-go ahead!" Tamaki was beat red in the face.
"Dude that's the loudest I've ever heard you speak," Kirishima awed.
"Excuse me while I go and throw myself in front of a moving car..." Tamaki excused himself from the meal. It was a one way ticket from the table to outside.
"That is one weird boy..." You admit. That's saying alot since the food business attracts the weirder crowd.
"He's just shy," Kirishima reassured.
"Oh I feel bad now..." I must've made him extremely uncomfortable.
"Don't worry about it I'll talk to him."
Despite the reassurance, Tamaki never did come back to the restaurant even after Kirishima tracked him down. The raven haired Male was found in an alleyway taking deep breaths and mumbling about how just one person made him into such a mess. Unfortunately for him, Fatgum wanted to eat at his daughter's restaurant again for lunch the very next day.
You brought out the exact meal Tamaki ordered yesterday; He never did eat it yesterday and Fatgum was more than happy to eat it. Tamaki found you sitting beside him once again. While Tamaki didn't hide his face for a change, he refused to look at you in any way shape or form.
"I understand that you're very shy but I want you to know that I'm one of the nicest people you'll meet. I'm gonna eat at the table next door, you're always welcome to eat with me," you got up and moved over to the neighboring table. It was a booth where personnel ate or chilled out on their break time.
Tamaki pressed his shivering hands to his face all to hide his overbearing blush. A muttered a load of nonsense flooded out from between his lips.
"Bro just go and eat with her. She clearly likes you back," Kirishima suggested. He's tired of watching his friend suffer.
"I can't date my mentor's daughter..." Was the only thing distinguishable from Tamaki's muttering.
"I don't think Fat cares if you do," Kirishima assumed.
"No..." Tamaki whined.
"Look Boy," Fatgum happily rubbed his bulbous stomach while stuffing an eggroll into his face. "She's mature enough to run a fantabulous restaurant at the age of seventeen. I believe she's mature enough to know when and who she wants to date," and he went right back to eating upon finishing his heart to heart speech.
"Now you got nothing holding you back. GO FOR IT!!!" The annoying pest with shark teeth exclaimed.
"I'm going," Tamaki got up, picked up his ceramic plate of food and sat himself down across from you at the booth. You lit up with delight and Tamaki was red as usual. You haven't seen him in his true colors just yet. "If you were a potato..." Tamaki began struggling to fight his stutter. "You'd b-be a sweet potato."
You couldn't stop smiling now. The corny pick up line was gold. Tamaki is a truly adorable being. "I think the opposite cause I find you A-peeling." You both began laughing.
"Are you p-p-potato soup? Cause you're s-souper," Tamaki managed to come up with another cheesy pick-up line. He's overall surprised that you're playing along.
The laughter came flooding out, the dam broke! "You really do like your potatoes. I knew that already but may I ask why you love them so much?"
"Whenever I'm nervous I imagine everyone as a potato... Which is all the time." In Tamaki's ocean eyes, everyone within the restaurant had the head of a potato, and then there was your beautiful self.
"Poor thing." You awed.
"Forget it..."
"I never did get your name potato boy."
"S-Suneater..." He frowned.
"I meant your true name."
"Tamaki Amajiki."
"And I'm (Y/n) Toyomitsu but you probably already knew that."
"I really hope I can start calling Tamaki my son!" Fatgum snickered.
"You already in a way do sir..." Kirishima points out but let the conversation go as soon as it had started.
Just one more month until season 4!!! I loved Nighteye when I was reading the manga and want to see how he's adapted into the anime.
