Element of Surprise: Bakugo x Male Reader
It was the first day of UA. A school for teenagers who strive to become heros like All Might and many more. You weren't that excited though like most of the other kids out there, it just meant more effort you'd have to put into everyday activities. Your dad was the exact same. He thought that hero work was a pain but in the end, if a citizen is safe with a smile on their face, it was all worth missing a good hour or two to nap. The second you stepped within your classroom in the Hero Course, Class 1-A, you rolled your eyes seeing the name of whom ran said classroom. "And here I thought I'd be getting away from the Old Geezer," you sighed running a hand through your hair. Some of your classmates heard your comment upon arrival, looked you over, and remained a healthy distance from you. It was probably for the best anyways and just how you like it.
"Hi there!" A boy with messy green hair approached your table. "I'm Izuku Midoriya, I don't recall ever seeing you in the entrance exams, you weren't even in the class roster," the boy kept rambling on and on and so you rolled your eyes with a great big yawn.
"I was at your entrance exams," you glared at Midoriya, expecting him to remember you. "I wasn't added to the class roster until just recently because I almost never made it."
"Shouldn't you care that you almost never made it?" Midoriya frowned.
"Not really," you leaned back within your seat. "I didn't defeat a single robot, it was Hero Points that saved my ass," a few students gasped to your comment, running over to your desk with great curiosity.
"I remember you!" That boy with engines for legs, Tenya Iida popped in. "You were protecting young heros who couldn't protect themselves against the robots!" He made overly enthusiastic arm gestures.
"Yes," you yawned once again. "Some kids were fighting each other like savages too, I broke up the fights... Nothing much."
"You really did all that at the risk of not gaining enough points to pass?" gravity girl Uraraka asked with glittering eyes. Midoriya knew exactly how it felt to save others at the risk of his own life so he wanted to comment all so badly but kept his mouth shut.
"My dad is a pro hero, he raised me to not be selfish."
"You bastard!" A boy with spiky blonde hair destroyed his desk with an explosion, yes an explosion from thin air, you couldn't recognize him despite some of the others who had memorable faces and/or quirks. "You calling me selfish!?" He hollered right into your face with gritted teeth.
"No," you shrugged glancing out the window.
"Still," the boy grits his teeth even harder. "You think you're all high and mighty because your dad is a pro hero."
"I never said that," you stared at the hothead very bored.
"Take me on!" The boy lunged forward with sparks like fireworks in the palms of his hands. You jumped from your seat and he tensed up even more than before once the sparks diminished instead of creating an explosion as anticipated. You swung your leg and nailed him in the chest, sending him flying. Your eyes were red like rubies and hair floating within the air.
"Mess with me again and you'll be dead," you threatened Mr. Explosion and you could tell that not a word had made it through his thick skull. Besides that, your eyes went back to the color of (e/c) and hair returned to normal.
"Thank you for not continuing the fight (Y/n)," Mr. Aizawa the teacher stepped in with hands in his pockets.
"Shut up you old fart," you took your seat again.
"Am I missing something?" Uraraka tilted her head.
"(Y/n) is our teacher's son," Todoroki spoke above everyone else. You recognized the voice to turn and-
"Oh," you tut. "Looks like I'm sharing a classroom with you Mr. Icy-Hot."
"Yes... I'm thrilled as much as you are," Todoroki spoke all so sarcastically.
"(Y/n) quit causing problems or else I'm transferring you to the other Hero Class," Aizawa growled and you took the hint and shut up immediately. You knew he wasn't joking.
"Great... We have two bullies in this class," Midoriya grumbled under his breath.
"You talking about me!?" You and Bakugo shouted at Midoriya in unison. You both froze sharing shocked expressions at one another. "Yup... We are the bullies," you huffed, resting your head upon the palm of your hand, the nickname wasn't sitting in very well with you.
"Don't drag me back into this," Bakugo grumbled, sitting within his seat of what was once a desk now charred and beyond repair.
The very next day, Bakugo came at you with his fist at the ready, he 'fell' out the window.
The day after that, he came at you from behind, luckily Kirishima warned you ahead of time and so you ducked the attack. Bakugo crash landed into the chair of your desk, flipped over, and fell into Todoroki of whom sat right in front of you. Bakugo remained quite literally frozen until your dad told Todoroki that Bakugo could come from time out.
Every surprise attack afterwards were more at random. Sometimes it was multiple times a day to maybe once a week or month. 28 days being the longest Bakugo had went without attacking, and everyone could tell the explosive blonde was suffering from his lack of wins.
You yawned holding a hand to your mouth continuing the long walk back home after a long boring day at school. "I see Bakugo," Kaminari groaned after taking a glance backwards.
"It's that time of the month again," Mineta mumbled. You both looked down at the boy with great confusion as to if he were referring to a girl or Bakugo. Then you remembered back to the fact that today was the 30th day that Bakugo has went without attacking, it was that time of the month.
"I'm just going to give him the win," you sighed.
"You know Bakugo won't like that in the slightest," Kaminari informed you.
"I can make it look real," you huffed. "Besides I'm tired of his shit, better to let him win so that I'm left alone..."
"Smart!" Mineta gave you the thumbs up. You soon heard a flurry of footsteps from behind you and...
"Bow down to me EraserFace!!!" Bakugo laughed maniacally, you braced yourself for an explosion to rip at your backside. Then BOOM! You were face down upon the pavement with pain eating away at your backside like predator to prey. Bakugo continued to laugh like someone that lived on the side of evil. "I finally fucking won!" He hooted.
"Good," you hissed through gritted teeth, trying to get back to your feet. "Then learn to leave me the hell alone," Bakugo froze suddenly to your words of hatred.
"And why the hell should I?" Bakugo growled crossing his arms.
"Cause you're an annoying fuck," you finally managed to get to your feet, rubbing your backside to somehow someway ease the pain. "You've finally got me, don't you get it!?" You shouted backing Bakugo into a nearby fence, meanwhile your friends had long split to avoid the conflict. "Leave me the hell alone Bakugo!!!"
"Damn..." Bakugo actually looked scared for a change. He pushed on your chest and walked away with his hands in his pockets. "I thought you liked it, the surprise attacks and all... I've wasted the last semester trying to get at you. So have a nice fucking day (Y/n)!" Bakugo actually ran away, guilt sat in almost immediately. The fact that Bakugo had dedicated himself to someone just for the purpose of liking it, that was hard to sink in.
"Did you get into another fight?" Aizawa snickered noticing your clothes were burnt to oblivion. You glanced at your own backside seeing that Bakugo had left a charred hole through your clothes and your back remained bare for the world to see.
"Shut up," you plopped down into a seat at the dining table and literally dropped your head onto the wooden surface. Aizawa flinched knowing that must've hurt, then pet your head with one hand.
"What happened?"
"I hurt Bakugo..." You mumbled through the table.
"You always fight hi-"
"I really hurt Bakugo..."
-----
The next morning at school, Bakugo came to school earlier than the normal to avoid having to pass your desk to reach his own. It even sat an entirely new feeling within the atmosphere that everyone soon noticed. The tension was too much for most to handle. Your father couldn't even teach the class cause nobody was willing to answer his questions. And so he suddenly pinched the bridge of his nose, tapping his foot on the floor. "(Y/n), Bakugo," you both tensed up. "Get the hell out of my class until your shit is back in order."
"Thanks you Old Geezer," you insulted him as you walked past his desk.
"Shut it," Aizawa let out a breath to remain cool. "Get out Bakugo," Aizawa demanded once again as he had not made an attempt to leave his desk. Bakugo cursed under his breath and finally left the room.
"Did you snitch on me to your dad?" Bakugo growled.
"I only said that I hurt you," you flipped the birdies.
"You never hurt me," Bakugo butts head with you.
"You wanted to be my friend and I rejected you... Therefore I'm sorry," the entire mood changed. "Sorry you wasted the entire semester on me, I'm a clueless dingbat," Bakugo snickered. "Let's restart, this time let's actually make an attempt to get to know each other," you offered. "Hi, I'm (Y/n) I want to be a hero just like my father EraserHead when I grow up," Bakugo looked at your hand as if you were on crack, he then shrugged some seconds later and took you by the hand with a cocky smirk.
"I'm Bakugo... I like to destroy shit like Deku."
