Mr. Hot Head | Bakugou Katsuki x Reader

Bakugou Katsuki wasn't particularly known for his loving nature, especially not when surrounded by prying eyes. Things were better in just the slightest when it was only the two of you, but even then he wasn't completely comfortable with his feelings. Anger came all too naturally to him; just not affection. This wasn't what bothered you, though. This was the man you fell in love with; not someone who expressed their love on the daily.

No, that's not what bothered you, but something else did.

You knew all too well of his aggressiveness before dating him. Despite this, never once did he dare raise his voice (or, god forbid, his hand) at you. He knew better than that, though you appeared to be the one and only exception to his seemingly never-ending stream of anger. He had always been quick to unleash his fury at others, but this only seemed to grow worse after the two of you began dating.

Nowadays, It only took one misplaced look to set him off. He absolutely hated it when others stared at the two of you as you walked hand in hand down the street. Bakugou's aggressive nature was far from a secret to the public and due to all the unfortunate series of events that happened to him, he was no stranger to the general public.

Could you really blame them for staring, though? In your eyes, you completely understood their surprise towards the realization that Bakugou was actually in a relationship with someone as calm as you; someone that was the complete opposite of him. No, you didn't mind the stares of curiosity and amazement, but he certainly did.

At first, he didn't even notice. Then, ever so slowly, he started to notice it more and more, but his only response to them was a low growl under his breath before pulling you away from their prying eyes. Once even that didn't work, he was unable to control his anger. He burst out into a fit of rage, screaming profanities at every single person within the vicinity until he was blue in the face. No one could calm him down when he got like this, not even you, so all you could do was sit and wait for him to calm down on his own.

No, it wasn't the stares you minded - it was Bakugou.

"The fuck you looking at?" he growled at the unfortunate soul who just so happened to get caught by him.

The poor guy didn't even manage to utter out a single word before Bakugou started roaring. This certainly wasn't anything new, but tears sprung to your eyes nonetheless. You knew he was only reacting like this because of you and yet you were unable to prevent it at the same time. You knew he meant well deep down in his heart, but he continued to act on it in all the wrong ways and you weren't physically or mentally capable of stopping it.

It wasn't long before the poor guy finally ran off. On the whole trip back to your home you were dead silent. There were so many things you wanted to say, but you knew the moment you opened your mouth the tears would come flooding out until you were nothing but crying mess.

Despite what many believed, Bakugou wasn't a stupid man. He was well aware that something was bothering you ever since the little trip to town. He wasn't one to sit and dwell on things. Pure bluntness was one of his many good qualities.

"What's bothering you?" he questioned. There was just the smallest hint of concern in his voice which was a surprise to him. In was only around you that he felt like a whole new person.

"It's nothing," you responded quickly, desperately trying to avoid the inevitable waterworks.

He merely rolled his eyes and scoffed. "Tch. It's obviously something so just spit it out already."

You hesitated and bit your lip. Mentioning what was bothering you was bound to start an argument but on the other hand, you knew not saying anything wouldn't be any better considering how impatient he was growing in waiting for your response.

"Do you...," you started softly, not sure how to quite say it. "Do you really have to yell at them? The people who stare at us, I mean."

He appeared taken aback by the question. "What?"

A tear slipped down your cheek. "I know they're staring for all the wrong reasons, but I really wish you wouldn't yell at them like you did."

You could practically feel Bakugou's anger rising, but he wouldn't dare ever try to take it out on you. Instead, he gritted his teeth and tried to keep a steady voice.

"Those assholes have no right to stare at us, that's why. Why should you care anyway? It's not like it's you I'm yelling at."

"I care because I want people to see you like how I see you," you said, your voice rising ever so slightly as more tears slipped down your face. "I know that deep down, you're a kind and loving person even though others don't know it. I want everyone to know what an amazing person you truly are, but they never will if you keep screaming and cursing at others over something as silly as some stares. I don't want everyone to see you as someone that you're not."

Bakugou stood there stunned for a few moments unable to do anything except watch you cry. Once his mind finally managed to process everything you said, he slowly wrapped his arms around your waist and allowed you to cry into his shoulder, not saying a word until you had finally calmed down.

"I don't give a damn about how everyone else sees me," he whispered softly, stroking your hair. You sniffled and looked up at him, worry clearly visible on your features in fear that everything you said didn't mean a thing to him. "They can think whatever the hell they want about me, I don't care. All that matters to me is how you see me, [name]."

And he was right. In the end, that's all that truly mattered.
