Welcome to U.A!
Grandma: Awwww look at them!
It was currently early six in the morning on a highway to Tokyo. You were finally on your way to U.A! Your grandpa had packed everything in your sleep (which you didn't get much of due to excitement) and woke you up to get hastily dressed and throw into the backseat of his car. Your grandma already in the passenger seat as you took off for the Aichi Prefecture to pick up a special passenger. Tsuyu Asui waited for you at the train stop, bags packed and tired, as she put her things in the trunk and took her place in the backseat. A seat separated the two of you, but over the drive that didn't last long. You became engaged in a conversation with Tsuyu about what the school would look like or what you would do when you got there. Inch by inch you both scooted closer, pulling on the restraints of your seatbelts until Tsuyu unclipped hers and moved into the middle seat. Eventually, either from the lack of sleep or the rhythmic bumping of the car on the road, you were lulled into sleep. And (like any good cliche) Tsuyu felt the pull of sleep herself. She took the most obvious place to sleep which was your chest. Your head rested on the window as she laid on your chest. Your grandma noticed and smiled at what she envisioned to be the perfect couple.
Grandpa: Oh let them sleep. It won't be long before we get there.
Grandma: I'm letting them sleep! I was just enjoying the cute way they were sleeping is all.
Grandpa: They're just good friends. What did he say? Um... oh yeah! Stop shipping them.
Grandma: And I'll refer to my earlier answer. You can't stop grandma. And you know a couple that started as good friends and kicked things off later.
Your grandma laced her fingers with the hand your grandpa wasn't using to control the steering of the car.
Grandpa: I just don't want (Y/n) to go through anything like his parents.
Your grandma scoffed and this caught your attention. You blinked the sleep out of your eye, but the call of sleep remained which kept your eyes nearly closed. Blinking rapidly, you tried to listen in on the conversation.
Grandma: Don't compare (N/n) to (Father/name)! That deadbeat left a wife and child and dumped them on us. I love him, but I'm just so disappointed.
Grandpa: It doesn't help that his mother died after he was born. I'm glad we raised him right, but I wish he had younger role models.
Grandma: We're retired heroes! What better role models could he have other than us?
You attempted to stifle a yawn, but it alerted your grandparents. Their conversation died immediately.
Grandma: Morning (N/n)! You sleep well?
You yawned again and looked around. Your eyes caught when you saw Tsuyu's sleeping face. A faint blush rose to your cheeks. You sighed and wrapped your arm around Tsuyu to ensure she was warm.
Grandma: You say your friends, but you act so romantic around each other it makes it hard not to see you as a couple.
(Y/n): Not so early in the morning grandma, please? I can barely think straight.
Tsuyu shuffled closer into your embrace. You sighed. Tsuyu was your best friend since you were kids and yet as you got older something didn't feel right. Tsuyu was more straightforward than when you were kids. Sure that's a good thing, but that wasn't the only thing. Every time Tsuyu saw you being flirted with, no matter how innocent it was, you would notice a pained look cross her face for a brief moment. It upset you to no end. You put on a smile to comfort those around you, but you would rather put your friends' happiness over your own and you wanted to ask her every time what was wrong, but you couldn't. Tsuyu would always throw on a blank face and wave it off. As you grew older you noticed this look more and more. Being around her was different too. Your face would heat up when she did things you would do all the time like hug and your chest would feel weird. Make no mistake, you've been in relationships with crushes before, but with Tsuyu it's different. You reached your hand from your side to her face to touch her cheek, but faltered in your attempt and pulled your hand back.
Grandma: What's wrong (N/n)?
You blinked yourself out of your trance. You turned to your grandma and gave her a tired smile.
(Y/n): Oh nothing. Just thinking about some stuff.
Grandpa: Now champ I'm only going to tell you this once so listen up. You better make some friends or something because I am not driving in this kind of traffic to bring you home until you are graduated... got it?
Your grandpa shot you a glare in the mirror. He was always upset when he had to drive, but he was the only one who could because you were only 15 and your grandma couldn't see that well on the road.
(Y/n): Y-Yes sir!
Your grandpa smiled and then returned his eyes to the road.
Grandpa: Get ready cause we'll be at the school any minute now.
You nodded and began to shake Tsuyu lightly.
(Y/n): Tsu... Come on Tsu you gotta wake up.
Tsuyu stirred in her sleep before her eyes opened to reveal her black irises. Her eyes met with yours and you smiled.
(Y/n): Come on Tsu, we're almost there.
Tsuyu: You couldn't let me sleep?
(Y/n): Nope. If I have to be up then you have to be up too.
Tsuyu pushed herself up from your chest never mentioning it, as if it was just a normal everyday occurrence. She sat up straight stretching her arms and let out a yawn.
Grandma: Mornin Tsu!
Tsuyu: Morning Gran.
Now you have some pretty cool grandparents. They demand everyone call them by some nickname other than you just because they reserve nicknames for you instead. Tsu is the only special instant where they use a nickname for someone else.
Grandma: Get ready Tsu, cause the school is up here on the left. Now you have enough money for lodging right?
(Y/n): I've saved up my money to pay for a few months and you said you would send money through the mail right?
Tsuyu: I have some money as well.
Grandpa: And here we are!
You looked out the window and spotted the building. It was in the shape of an enormous H (probably for hero)and was made out of glass or windows or something. You couldn't really tell. Your grandpa pulled to a stop in front of the building. You pushed open the door and stepped out. Stretching, you revealed your outfit. You cleaned up nicely, to be honest. You wore a professional beige sweater with black pants that led to light brown dress shoes. Good attire for a business meeting, but not for a hero school introduction. You offer Tsuyu your hand and she pulled herself out of the car. She was dressed more realistically. With a white tank top and sweatpants leading to black sneakers.
Tsuyu: Well aren't you ready for a business meeting.
(Y/n): Is it weird that I was just thinking that? But hey you gotta look your best. First impressions are everything.
You ran a hand through your unkempt hair which was originally in a neat parted style until you fell asleep on a two-hour trip.
Grandma: We'll take your things to the hotel. Have fun!
Grandpa: Because we are not picking you up again.
Grandma: Love you guys!
Your grandparents drove off in the direction of presumably the hotel. You turned to face the school and watched the other kids walk past.
(Y/n): Why is that kid sparkling?
???: I'm not sparkling, I'm twinkling!
the aforementioned guy winked before making his way inside.
(Y/n): Ok I feel uncomfortable.
Tsuyu: Let's just go inside before the presentation starts.
(Y/n): Sure I guess.
Tsuyu gripped your wrist and pulled you along. She must have seen or heard something you didn't because she was pulling you quickly. You looking over your shoulder to see a pink guy, no not pink haired or has pink eyes, but a pink girl smiled before waving at you. You returned the smile and wave before Tsuyu yanked you inside to find the area where the presentation. After a quick search, you found the massive room and then your seats. You watched the room slowly fill up before you passed out. You were way more tired than you originaly thought and the dimming lights slapped you into sleeping before you had a chance to fight back. Then the speaker went on stage. Hopefully, he doesn't have anything important to say or you might get seriously hurt in the next entry of this story!
