Heartbeat Memories - Kyoka Route

The other students seemed to have been competing with each other to figure out who had the best-designed room, but you got an exemption from the contest for... obvious reasons. It was certainly due to your grandparents decorating your room and not the other issue. You didn't mind how they put your room together though. It looked like your room in your apartment with Tsu. It was certainly going to be a transition from living with Tsu to having your classmates as your roommates.

(Y/n): Haa...

Your tired body flopped back onto your newly made bed, allowing yourself a moment to stare up at the ceiling. Your pajamas felt the same as ever, but your skin itself seemed to had been tarnished to the point of discomfort. You knew the reason of course. The scars on your body, the actions done by that crazed old man... the new Quirk coursing through your vein. You still weren't sure how the doctors managed to not find the Quirk, though you suspected your grandparent's meddling had a hand in it. You didn't know whether to thank them or... a sigh left your lips as you closed your eye. Mei should be working on a replacement since they couldn't find the other orb after the battle between All Might and All For One. Suddenly a knock filled the room, reverbing off the walls as you took a moment to quickly glance at the door. You hadn't expected a guest, especially with the new curfew system kicking in soon, but you managed to pull your tired body out of bed long enough to shuffle over to the door and open it. Your eyes widened softly and your breath hitched as you spotted her...

Kyoka Jirou

The girl stood rather awkwardly before you in what you could only assume was her sleeping attire. A yellow shirt with the name of what you could only assume was some sort of band and a pair of shorts. Her finger twirled her ear jack around and around as she was clearly disinterested or at the very least nervous.

Kyoka: Hey there, (L/n).

(Y/n): Oh uh... hey Jirou. It's been a while.

Kyoka: Yeah...

A thick silence filled the hallway before Kyoka took a moment to send a glare down the hallway. Curious as to what had her upset you glanced out of your door in time to see a flash of green and pink.

Kyoka: Those two couldn't figure out who should check up on you. They said something about if both of them went they would get caught much easier so... they picked me.

(L/n): Well I'm glad they want to check up on me... but you don't have to go along with this. You can go ahead back to your room.

Kyoka lifted her hand up from her ear jack before giving you a serious look.

Kyoka: Look, I know I don't know you like the others. I mean we've only really had one or two talks since we met, but I know you went through a lot. So... let me check up on you for a bit at least.

Her voice had this neutral tone to it which seemed to be expected seeing as the two of you were considerably more distant than the others, but you nodded at her and allowed her to slip by you into your room. You didn't have anything to hide from her, but other than Tsuyu and your grandma, no other girl had been in your room before.

(Y/n): So... what do you want to check up on me for?

Kyoka remained silent, her calm eyes examing your room. She must be looking for something weird. Or...

(Y/n): Do you want to talk about rock stuff?

That definitely drew her attention as she turned to you with a neutral face but a slight sparkle in her eyes.

Kyoka: Ah... thank you for the offer, but I'm here to check up on you remember? So.. uh... how are you doing?

Now that the question was thrust in front of you t actually made you consider how you felt about the whole event. Your life certainly wouldn't be the same that's for sure. Under your shirt, All For One left enough scars on your to make Izuku look bad, and as for what has happened mentally... you truthfully don't know.

Kyoka: You don't have to say anything.

(Y/n): You sure?

Kyoka: You clearly don't want to speak about it so I won't force you.

(Y/n): Thanks... Just know that it's not because of you. I... all of it really just hurts I suppose. I was a pincushion for days and after that... I don't feel well in a lot of aspects, but I'm thankful someone came to see me.

Kyoka looked upon your mini-speech thoughtfully before carrying herself over to take a seat on your bed. Seeing as there was no point in standing you decided to join her taking a seat on your sheets, your body separated from Kyoka by inches. Your body moved forward, letting your knees hold up your drained form. Huh... just talking about it really took it out of you. Guess a short stay in the hospital doesn't heal everything.

Kyoka may seem cold to the untrained eye, but the girl has her own quirks, not just her Quirk either. And in her own way, she will let you know she cares. For this moment with you, it was quite simple. The girl lifted her hand and rested it on your shoulder. Turning your head, your (E/c) met Kyoka's lazy-looking onyx orbs and you could detect a slight warmth. This was her subtle attempt at a lifeline in the event your thoughts took a much darker turn.

(Y/n): Thank you, Jirou.

Kyoka: Let's say that we officially know each other now so... Just call me Kyoka, ok? And I'll call you (Y/n) to keep it even.

(Y/n): I think I would like that... Kyoka.

You certainly felt much better since the rock-loving girl was there by your side at this moment. You don't know what would have happened had the other girls been here but Kyoka was just perfect in her own subtle way. And something about it just seemed... so cute.
