Flash Forward: Part 1
(Next morning)
I woke up with a pain all over my body. Looking at my body, I saw that all my injuries from yesterday had been healed.
"What the? How did-" I started before being cut off by the sound of someone clearing their throat. Looking to the right, I saw Aiko sitting in the chair next to the couch.
"I can explain. After your fight, you came back here and passed out from the pain. I healed you and stayed here to make sure you were okay." He said. I scratched my head.
"Um... thanks... I guess." I replied, feeling my forearm. It felt like new. It's almost scary how strange it feels. I saw my skin crumble away to dust last night! How did he heal me? Aiko stood up, holding out his hand.
"Come on. We have a school day to get to." I grabbed his hand and he pulled me up. I showered, got dressed and was about to leave when Aiko stopped me.
"What's the matter?" I asked. Aiko tapped his cheek.
"Punch me." He said. I did a double take.
"Wait, what!? I don't want to destroy my house!" I said.
"PUNCH ME!" Aiko screamed. Panicking, I wound up and punched his cheek. Yet... there was nothing. No explosion. No overwhelming force. Nothing. Just an average punch. I stepped back and looked at my hands.
"What... What's happening to me?" I asked.
"It's just as I feared. All for One stole Zenkai. You no longer have all that power." Aiko said. Zenkai... gone? My biggest burden: gone forever? I should be happy. Zenkai ruined my life. So why do I feel so... scared? I already feel weaker without Zenkai. I could actually be hurt. I... I could actually die now. I'm powerless. "But worry not. While I was scanning your mind, I managed to unlock your actual quirk, so you aren't completely powerless." I have another quirk? I wonder what it could be. Aiko grabbed my shoulder. "Whatever you're thinking, we don't have time. We need to get to school." I sighed.
"Right. Since I can't run super fast anymore, you think you can warp us there?" I asked. Aiko nodded, opening a rift. The bright white portal before us whizzed and warbled, radiating with energy. We stepped throught the portal. "Ah, the one thing I can rely on: old U.A... High?" I questioned, seeing the sight before us. U.A was destroyed, covered in flames and burns. The city was covered with green smoke with statues of All for One all over the place. Not a hero or citizen in sight. "Aiko... please tell me this is a bad dream." Aiko looked at me, just as scared as I was.
"I don't think it is." He replied. Suddenly, Deku landed in front of us. His face was replaced by metal on his right side. His arms were covered in metal.
"Deku, what happened here? Where is everybody?" I asked. Instead of answering, he wound up a punch. I tried to block, but instead, a giant metal shield appeared in front of me and Aiko. It blocked the force of Deku's punch. "What the Hell!? Where did that come from!?" I screamed. Before I could answer, Deku had torn the shield apart. Suddenly, Deku was sent flying backwards. The attacker was Tokoyami, who has seen better days. His left eye was covered with bandages while his right arm was bionic.
Along with Tokoyami was Iida, whose armor and costume had cracks and holes all over. He looks like he's been through Hell and back. Iida looked at the device in his hand.
"Yep. This must be where all that energy was coming from." He looked up, seeing me and Aiko, gasping." Rika? Aiko? Is that really you?" He asked.
"Iida, what the Hell is going on here?" I asked. Before he could answer, Deku emerged from the rubble. Tokoyami stepped in front of us.
"Go! Get those two back to base! I'll keep him busy!" He shouted. Without question, we hopped on Iida's back as he sped off to a location unknown to us. It was a building on the outskirts of town surrounded by barbed wire fences. Iida led us inside, opening a secret door in one if the rooms. As we descended the stairwell, we found ourselves in a secret underground base! It was massive, filled with civilians and heroes alike.
"I'll show you around." Iida said, speeding us to another room. "This is HQ, where all the hard decisions are made." He then took us to a large room with training dummies in it. "This is the training room, where you can practice with your quirks." He then led us down the hall to a set of rooms. "These are the bunks, where we all sleep." He then quickly showed us two rooms right next to each other. "Finally, we have the med bay and cafeteria. They should be self explainitory." Iida sped off, leaving me and Aiko alone.
"Can somebody please just GIVE US A STRAIGHT ANSWER!?" I screamed. Suddenly, the room got colder. I turned to see Todoroki enter the room. The red patch of skin over his left eye was now metallic, as was two of his fingers.
"Twenty five years ago, Deku went missing. Everyone did everything to try and find him, but we couldn't pin him down. Then, he just showed up and started causing havoc and destruction. On top of that, All Might returned, also under the same enchantment that Deku was. Over time, heroes fell and All for One took control. We've been able to fight him back with Aiko using his godly potential, but now he's gone too. Judging by your getup, I'm guessing you think you can fill Aiko's shoes"? He asked in his monotone. Aiko put his hand to his chin.
"That's odd. I wouldn't just leave without a good reason. Is there anyone who would know me?" Aiko asked. Todoroki nodded.
"Yeah. They should be in the med bay. Follow me." He replied, leading us to the medical bay. Inside was tons of heroes with injuries that needed healing. Most of them had cybernetic parts or enhancments. "Hey doc, we got some guys asking questions." Todoroki said. The doctor put her glasses on top of her head and spun around, stopping the work she was doing on Mina's arm. When she spun, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The doctor was Ochako with a cybernetic left arm. Another person came downstairs along with two children. It was Momo. She gasped.
"Aiko?" She asked.
"Daddy?" The little boy asked. Aiko's eyes went wide.
"DADDY!?" He replied, clearly a little spooked. I walked over to Ochako, who gasped upon seeing me further.
"Rika? Is that really you?" She asked. I nodded and hugged her. The coldness of her arm on my back felt weird yet comforting.
"Ochaka, what happened to you?" I asked. Instead of an answer, I got a kiss from Uraraka. It was sweet, yet familiar. We parted and she smiled.
"I never thought I'd be able to do that again."
