Happy (unknown ship)
I was shaking. The pain in my side was too great, I couldn't take it. The blood gushed from the wound as I looked around the battlefield. There he was. Just laying there, practically dead.
I crawled over to the unconscious body and sobbed. Blood was everywhere, everything was burning. I stopped being able to see, I stopped being able to breathe. The smoke made me choke, my throat constricting.
I coughed violently as I stumbled blindly through the rubble of the school. Everything had fallen. We were reduced to nothing within a mere minute. They had shown they ruled, that they had power we didn't. Then I saw her. Standing there, a tiny child in her arms.
Limping over to them, I tried to talk, but I couldn't. She turned around and seemed to understand what I was thinking. She sat down with the small child and a bright light enveloped the city, causing my eyes to water. I never thought I'd see something that bright without being blinded, but I was wrong.
The light covered everything. That one second felt like hours, days, years. I didn't care. I just knew they would help.
Closing my eyes tight, I felt the pain in my side fade away. The unbearable light was slowly dimming until it died out, being replaced by the sun. The school was back to normal, and everyone was waking up around me.
I thought I was going to be the only one left. I thought I would be alone forever, after just having escaped my old life completely. This felt amazing.
Those children were gone. I didn't care, they could be the poorest people to ever live or literal gods from another universe, I knew I was going to spend every second of my life searching for them to thank them.
I ran up to him and hugged him tight, crying into his shoulder. We stood there for a good few minutes, hugging in silence, before pulling away. "I'm so glad you're alright..." he whispered to me.
"Yeah... yeah, I am..." was the only thing I could say. My mind refused to think properly. What I had just experienced... I couldn't describe how I felt about it. I was just so appalled that two little girls, one half the age of the other, could reverse such a huge event. So many things destroyed, so many people dead. It was amazing.
I was, for once in my life, happy.
