A short one in between requests. I've been using writing prompts to get some ideas for one shots, plus Iida can always use some more love! The prompt for this one shot is 'Looks like we're stuck here for a while'

Peeping your head around the corner of the building your eyes scan the scene ahead of you looking for the attacker. The street ahead of you coated in stones and rubble scattered everywhere. It seems the perpetrator has left the scene.

"We should stay back here until we know the coast is clear" You mumble to Iida standing behind you with his arm in front of you so you don't run out into the scene.

"Hm, I see. It is more logical for us to stay back here and monitor the situation. There doesn't seem to be any civilians hurt, we should leave it to the pros." He mutters.

The two of you continue monitoring the situation before a villain rushes past, police officers chasing him. The villains quirk involves some kind of manipulation of cement as he continues flicking the road up behind him as he attempts to flee from police officers. Your eyes widen as a huge piece of rubble comes shooting directly toward you. Without time to react you feel your body being pulled back further into the alley, the piece of rubble narrowly avoiding your head.

That was close.

"You really should be more careful [LN]" Iida states, still holding your waist in a firm grip.

"T-thank you Tenya.." you whisper.

The two of you take a moment before noticing a door nearby.

"Maybe we should wait in there until this whole thing blows over? It looks abandoned and we shouldn't get caught up in the situation"

"You're right, allow me to enter first. Follow closely" His stern voice remains low as he guides you over to the rusted door. The entire alleyway is dark, the shadow of the buildings aside you casting over you. Walking up to the door you look ahead, moulded bricks and dumpsters in the alley cause you to let out a small scowl. Iida grips the handle and gives it a few shakes before it gives in, flinging forward quickly. Ahead of you lies a tiny, dark and dingy room the size of a closet. The both of you furrowing your brows together at the sight of the room ahead as you shuffle in, Iida trying his best to avoid looking down at you chest as you close the door behind you, forcing you to be pressed up against him. The two of you had been dating for a short while though you hadn't stepped up the level of intimacy past kissing since he tries his best to remain chivalrous, respecting your body as well as focusing on studies. You let out a small groan as you squeeze your arms from your back to rest beside your hips, grazing the wall slightly. Iida wants the best for your level of comfort during this situation, wanting you to remain safe as the loud sounds of rubble kicking up grew louder knowing the villain was close. His voice turned to a low, stern whisper.

"It looks like we're stuck here for a while [YN], please stay quiet. If you'd be more comfortable in a different position I can move for you"

You let out a soft smile, the light seeping through from the vents at the top of the room casting a light on over your glistening eyes. Feeling brave you decide to take this moment to break the feeling of fear rushing through you and wrap your arms around his waist, clenching knots in the back of his shirt and pressing your head against his firm chest.

"I-I think I'm more comfortable like this" You whisper.

A heat crosses his cheeks, a sudden need to protect you came over him. He shuffled his body slightly to allow yourself more comfort. Raising his arms from his sides and wrapping them around you, placing you in a strong, safe grip. He could feel your heart racing against him, he wasn't sure if it was due to the situation around you, or if it was because of how close you two were. He took a moment to look down at you, his heart softens before placing a tender peck against your forehead, his favourite thing to do. A comfortable silence falls over the room, your heart rate decreases and your body relaxes at the touch of Iida running a hand through your hair.

Iida's mind was blank, the feeling of butterflies fluttering through his stomach as you caressed his back lovingly. He wasn't thinking about what was happening outside, he was thinking about you and only you.

"[YN]..." He whispered.

Your head makes its way up to meet his gleaming orbs, your hazy eyes flutter slowly adjusting to the light bouncing between the two of you. A blush resting upon your cheeks as he gazes into your eyes. He takes a moment to gently brush a strand of hair behind your ear as he smiles down at you.

"Mm?" You hum.

His cheeks grow a warm pink before speaking.

"I-I love you"

Your eyes widen at his statement, you can feel his heart thumping through his shirt. This is the first time we've said that.. and we're in here.. like this.. Immediately you smile back at him, your stomach spouting butterflies throughout your entire body as a wash of overwhelming happiness comes over you.

"I love you too Tenya" you whisper.
