Hi guys, and welcome to the first chapter of My Hero Academia: New Beginnings! Like i said before, me and my lovely friend ZeFrenchestFry
are writing this together! She writes Rowan's pov and I write Arakan's pov. But anyway I hope you like the first chapter!

Arakan pov

6:00 am
*beep beep beep*

I woke up to a bright and blinding light shining through a gap between the two curtains lighting up my room a bit. I threw my hand on top of the alarm clock to shut it off.

"Ugh I really hate that damn alarm clock..." I said in a sleepy voice, still trying to wake up

*ding*

"Now who and their rights mind would be up at this hour??" I questioned as I sat up against the bored of my bed. I picked up my phone to see who texted me only to see that Keigo texted me 'what does he want?' I thought as I unlocked my phone and tapped the message app to so that I can reply to him.

[Hay I'll be picking you up in like 10 minutes so be ready!]

'Be ready for what.... WAIT THE ENTRANCE EXAM SHIT I FORGOT!' After my realization I instantly jumped out of my bed grabed my training clothes and ran to the bathroom to change and get ready.

*knock knock knock*

I ran over to the door with my backpack and a piece of toast in my mouth, but of course I tripped and fell on the ground and saw that i dropped my toast

"Ah shit" I said slightly irritated, I picked up the toast and looked at it a bit before deciding it's fine and continued to eat it

I opened the door to see Keigo waiting on me.
"Hey there kid, you ready?" He asked looking down at me with a curious look

"Yep just let me get my shoes on right quick then we can head out" I replied as I sat down to put on my red and blue converse shoes

"Okie lets go!" I stood up and cheered

"Haha okay okay let's go" he laughed and opened his arms out so he can hold on to me
"Hold on" he said slightly looking at me

"I know, it's not my first time doing this ya know?" I said and held on to him. "Just making sure" he replied as he started to flap his wings to get us off the ground and to fly us to UA.
Even though the exam doesn't start until 9
we were going to one of the training buildings at UA.

Rowan POV

5:45 am
I started my morning out as usual, waking up at the crack of dawn to my alarm clock in my room. Before doing anything, I hit the snooze on my alarm and tried to go back to sleep. Big mistake on my part.

As I laid there with my eyes closed, hoping for at least five more minutes of peace, I hear my door slam open and carefully placed footsteps leading beside me.

"And what do you think you're doing?" I hear my guardian, the hero Sir Nighteye query, "you remember what we say, some people dream of success-"

"But others wake up and work hard at it, I know." I finish sluggishly, hoping maybe he'll be satisfied enough to leave me be.
"You know you have your entrance exam for UA today right?"
"How could I forget? It's all we've been talking about for the last few weeks."

"I know I just want to make sure you're prepared, we may not be related but you're still my child" He says in a caring tone, before continuing with "but I didn't raise a failure, and you wanted this, so get up, and get your rice."
"Uugghhhh fiiinnneeee, but only because you're right and I know that." I groan, sitting up finally.

"Good, meet me at the agency in 45 minutes, I'll help you run through your blood commands one last time"
"Ok, see ya there." He closes the door and I immediately lay back down, and jump on my phone. I would text my friends, if I had any. I wasn't very popular among my classmates, but that's fine.

6:03am
I get up and get dressed into a tight fitted tank top and a comfortable pair of shorts before heading out to grab some breakfast on the way to the agency. If I grab some rice, some extra bandages, and an egg I should be set for the day. Leaving and locking the house, I run towards the agency because Sir doesn't like late arrivals. Upon arriving, I take the elevator up to his office and walk in, 5 minutes before time.
6:30 am

"Alright so, how are we gonna run through this?" I ask, sitting in a chair across from Sir.
"Well to start, I need to aware of how high your percentage for destruction can be as of now, and if you know the basic concept behind quirks in case you need to copy one." He informs me, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose.

"Well, destruction alone, I got the percentage up to 78%, and I can copy a quirk about as well as a ditto can copy a different Pokémon, with 98% accuracy and a fail rate of 5% for basic elemental quirks, increasing by a little every time a higher completion comes into play." I regurgitate from my brain, an answer I had been preparing for quite some time.

"Demonstrate a water quirk for me," he says, placing a cup of water down."
I bite the skin off my index finger and write with the blood on the piece of paper before me a symbol I had chosen specifically for this quirk. My eyes glow and my marks on my skin begin to show, before I begin to control the water, turning it into an ice shard and shooting it straight past sirs head.

Un-phased, he opens a drawer and pulls out a small rock. "How about earth?"
I take a deep breath before de-activating the water quirk and I write a new one, speaking I can only use one quirk at a time. This time I pick up the rock and think for a second. I lift the rock up and bring an image into my mind, morphing the rock into that image. What to choose other than the no 1 hero, All Might. I set the newly made figurine down and sir stares at me.

"Good," he says, taking the figurine and setting it on the desk, "I think you're ready for the exam. Just make sure not to overdo it too much, I don't want you to get hurt again."
I look down at my scar across my leg, a constant reminder of my mistakes.
"I'll make you proud." I say, grabbing a bandage and wrapping it up. I'd prefer to look like I'm hurt than to stare at the dreadful thing all day.

I see sir frown at the sight, before he says, "your past mistakes are a part of who you are, but do not take that as if they're supposed to define who you will be forever, take it as something you will use to guide your future."
I smile numbly, and we sit there in silence for a bit. I hurt sir, and that scar is a constant reminder. I look back up at him and see he is still frowning about what I did. How to cheer him up, I need to know how to cheer him up. A joke!

"You know, they always tell you to say no to drugs," I say, looking up at him, "but if I'm talking to drugs, wouldn't I have already said yes?"
Staring at me, he smirks before replying, "your attempt to make a joke is funnier than the joke itself."

I stare at him in disbelief before I smile and start to laugh, which puts a smile on his face.
He looks at his watch before saying "you know, we still have an hour before you have to leave for your exam, do you want to go down the street and get some yakisoba?"
My eyes light up and I shout "YES" before grabbing my bag and standing at the door like a toddler about to get a toy.
Sir laughs and ruffles my hair before we walk out the door.

Arakan pov

~time skip to after their done training~

Once we were done training, we sat down to cool off a minute. "You did good today kid, I think you'll pass the entrance exam" he said panting a little bit because of the training we just did.

"Thanks Keigo" I thanked him picking up my water bottle to take a drink from it.

"You know you only have like 15 minutes before it starts right?" Keigo said while showing me the time on his phone

8:48 am

"Ahh we need to go! Come on Keigo hurry up!" I yelled running over to my bag and picked up all my stuff as he rolled his eyes at me. I put my backpack on and walked back over to Keigo so we can get going.

"Ready!" I said excited but also a little nervous because of the exam that's in literally not but 8 minutes.

"It's about time, lets go" he chuckled a bit while holding on to me so he can fly me over to the school gate

~another little time skip sorry~

"Okay here you are kid, I'm gonna go on patrol now but good luck!" He said as he placed me down on the ground in front of the school gate.

"Thank you Kei- I mean Hawks, I'll text ya once it's done!" I said excitedly and hugged him one more time before I headed off to the school doors and he flew off to his patrol.

'I wonder what are we gonna do for the exam? Oh wait don't we have to fight something or someone? You know whatever it is I'll-' i stopped mid thought as i bummed into someone and fell onto the ground.

"WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING EXTRA!" A guy with spiky ash-blonde hair yelled as he just walking away like nothing even happened.

'Damn what a jackass...' I thought while I picked up my phone that fell out of my out of my jacket pocket, luckily it wasn't broken so that's a good thing.

"H-hey I'm s-sorry about Kaachan he's just uh... Just excited haha yea excited..." A guy with fluffy green hair said nervously and reached out his hand to help me back up.

'That's a weird way to show excitement' I thought as I took his hand and stood back up on my feet. "It's okay and uh thank you..." "Midoriya, Izuku Midoriya" he said rubbing the back of his neck nervously.

"Well thank you Midoriya" I thanked him and bowed a little. "It was no problem really!" He said with a red face and waving his hands all around the place. That's when I noticed a girl with short brown hair behind him.

"Oh I'm sorry I didn't see you there, my name is Arakan Todoroki but uh call me Wolfe if you want" I stuttered a bit and waved to her

"It's okay!" She said cheerfully. "But we should go in it's fixing to start" she said while pointing to the school. "Ah you're right we should, well good luck you guys!" I said as I ran over to the doors and walked in to go sit down and wait for it to start.

"WELCOME TO TODAYS LIVE PERFORMANCE!! EVERYBODY SAY 'HEY'!!" A guy with blonde hair yelled. No one said anything but just sat there 'I think that's Present Mic?' I thought but then i was cut out of my thinking when he started to talk again... Well yell again.

"WELL, THAT'S COOL, MY EXAMINEE LISTENERS!!" He shouted 'yep definitely Present Mic' I thought as I cover my ears.

"I'M HERE TO PRESENT THE GUIDELINES OF YOUR PRACTICAL!! ARE YOU READY?!" Everyone was silent until he yelled "YEAHH!" Which my I say almost made my ears bleed.

"THIS IS HOW THE TEST WILL GO, MY LISTENERS! YOU'LL BE EXPERIENCING TEN MINUTE LONG 'MOCK CITYSCAPE MANEUVERS'!! BRING ALONG WHATEVER YOU WANT! AFTER THIS PRESENTATION, YOU'LL EACH HEAD TO YOUR ASSIGNED TESTING LOCATION!!" He yelled as the screen behind him shows the different group locations

"THAT'S SO KIDS FROM THE SAME MIDDLE SCHOOLS CAN'T HELP EACH OTHER OUT, YEAH? O.K?! EACH SITE IS FILLED WITH THREE KINDS OF FAUX VILLAINS. POINTS ARE AWARDED FOR DEFEATING EACH ACCORDING TO THEIR RESPECTIVE DIFFICULTY LEVELS!!" As he is yelling all the rules and stuff i write down some of it so i can remember what he said.

"USE YOUR QUIRKS TO DISABLE THESE FAUX VILLAINS AND EARN POINTS! THAT'S YOUR GOAL, LISTENERS!! OF COURSE PLAYING THE ANTIHERO AND ATTACKING OTHER EXAMINEES IS PROHIBITED!!" He shouted out the rest of the rules and I wrote some of it down and then some guy a couple of rows ahead of me stood up

"May I ask a question?!" The guy with glasses asked. "There appear to be no fewer than four varieties of faux villain, on this handout! Such a blatant error, if it is one, unbecoming for UA, Japans top academy!! We're all here today in the hopes of being molded into model heroes!!" He continued while holding the handout papers they had.

"And, you, with the curly hair!" He said as he turned around and pointed to the guy in the row behind me. "You've been muttering this whole time... It's distracting!! If this is some sort of game to you, then please leave immediately!" He exasperated, and turned to look back to where Present Mic is. "Sorry..." Midoriya muttered covering his mouth and had the look of guilt written all over his face.

"ALRIGHT ALRIGHT. EXAMINEE 7111, NICE CATCH. THANKS! BUT THE FOURTH FAUX VILLAIN VARIETY GETS YOU ZERO POINTS! HE'S MORE OF AN OBSTACLE!" He clarified and continued to explain "HAVE YOU ALL PLAYED SUPER MARIO BROTHERS?! the old, retro game..." He ask but said the last part quieter.

"IT'S KIND OF LIKE A THWOMP! ONLY ONE AT EACH SITE! A 'GIMMICK' THAT'LL RAMPAGE AROUND IN CLOSE QUARTERS!" He explained and everyone started to mumble to each other. "Thank you, sir. I apologize for the interruption!" The guy with the glasses thanked him and sat back down.

"THAT'S ALL FROM ME!! I'LL LEAVE MY LISTENERS WITH OUR SCHOOL MOTTO.
THE GREAT HERO NAPOLEON BONAPARTE ONCE SAID 'TRUE HEROISM CONSISTS IN BEING SUPERIOR TO THE ILLS OF LIFE.'
PLUS ULTRA!! BREAK A LEG EVERYONE!!" He yelled excitedly. After he was done everyone got up and headed to where they were supposed to go.

Rowan pov

*time-skip* 9:00 am
I walk in and sit down just in time to hear a loud voice start shouting. Oh gosh it's Present Mic, I'm gonna get a headache. He explains the exam basics, hyped up the crowd, and a blue haired robot looking dude stands up and asks about the fourth bot, before telling a piece of scrawny broccoli to shut up. I laugh at his remark and the reaction of the broccoli, and then continue to listen to Mic explain that the fourth robot offers no points, and that it's best to just avoid it.

After getting assigned our testing areas, I start feeling the nerves kicking in. What if I get in a situation, and something bad happens, what if my quirk goes into the five percent chance of failure and I just have to cry, what if I accidentally kill someone? The possibilities are endless.

Walking out I see some angry porcupine guy and he screams at me "OUT OF MY WAY EXTRA!"

I turn to him in disbelief and scream back "Who do you think you're talking to you Perhot' podzalupnaya?!(Russian for ass dandruff) I see shock stream across his face alongside a hint of consent before he returns back to his angry state and "tsks" at me.

So my day is going great.

Arakan pov

~at the testing grounds~

I stood doing some stretches while waiting for the exam to start. "Why are you here? Hoping to interfere?" I turned around to see who said that to only see Midoroya and the guy with glasses, so I walked over there to help Midoriya.

"Um not to interrupt but I'm sure Midoriya is not going to 'interfere' with anything" I said putting my hand on Midoriya, he continued to glare at him then we heard Present Mic.

"ARE YOU READY GUYS!? WELL GET READY...
AND BEGIN!!" As soon as he said those words everyone started to run and try to get through the gate.

"SORRY MIDORIYA BUT I GOTTA GO!" I shouted and started to run to the gate but of course their were people in the way so I had to make a bridge out of ice over them so I could get in.

Once I got in i aimed my hand down so my ice bridge would be on the ground so I could start to run and get some points!

'Ugh where are these damn things!' I questioned myself while I was running and looking around, that's when I saw three of them in front of me. I stomped my right foot on the ground to freeze their feet and then I raised my right hand and aimed my fire right at them.

Just as I burned them I heard one coming up right behind me, I swing my left hand behind and activated my ice quirk and struck it right in the middle of it.

After a couple of minutes I got 45 points! Hopefully that's enough but I still should see if I can get more. As i ran around i saw Midoriya just standing their looking... scared? 'Maybe i should help him? Yeah imma try to help him I don't know how but I'll try!' I thought and ran to him.

That's when the ground started to shake and pieces of buildings started to fall and hit the ground, I looked up to see the giant zero pointer. 'Damn where in the hell do they get the money for this shi-' I was cut off when I saw a girl with long red-ish hair right in the path of the giant zero pointer

I ran as fast as I could and used my ice road to help me get to her faster, as soon as I was close enough I used my big ice attack on the zero pointers foot. Although it wouldn't keep it there for long but it'll help me get her out of the way so she doesn't get hurt by it.

"Come on! My ice won't keep it there for long, just long enough so we don't get hurt!" I yelled at her and reached out my hand for her to grab it, when she grabbed my hand I pulled her to me and held on to her as I made a ice bridge so we can get away faster.

Once we got to a safer spot I turned around and saw someone jump up really high and hit the zero pointer right in the 'face' and knocked it down. Then the person started to fall and by the looks of it they broke their arms and legs, and before he hit the ground the girl with brown short hair smacked him and 'gently' dropped him on the ground and same with her.

"IT'S ALL OVER!!" Present Mic shouted and everyone stopped and walked over to where the person destroyed the zero pointer

"Wow someone really went after the giant zero pointer?" The red head questioned and looked over at me with a tired expression "yeah i guess... Why don't we go see who it was and to see of their okay?" I said tiredly, as we both walked over to see what happened I put my right hand on my left arm to feel some frost on it.

'Ugh I might've over did it...' I sighed and continued to walk over see who it was that hit the zero pointer, once I could see who the crazy person was... I saw Midoriya with broken bones laying on the floor.

I hastily walked over to kneel down beside him, I knew I could do anything to really help him so I decided to cool him off a bit. I put my hand on his head and activated my quirk to cool him down, I did this for only a few seconds until a oldlady walked up to him

"So your own beloved quirk did this to you, almost looks as though your body isn't used to it" she said as she got a bit closer to us she bend over a little and... Kissed him!? 'Huh must be apart of her quirk' I thought to myself as she healed his arms and legs back to normal.

"This one will be fine. Any other hurt children?"

Rowan pov

*Timeskip to arena*
I see some commotion going on at the front between the broccoli kid, sonic, some red and white haired chick, and a girl that has short brown hair with bangs right before the arena sounds it's alarm.

I see the frosted tip chick make a huge ice structure to race into the arena, and I follow shortly behind, drawing a blood pattern for water on my arm and feeling that intensity of the quirk setting on, so I used the ice she created to skate into the arena. I see the first few bots, a couple of three pointers, and using my surroundings, and all the water I can find, I started to dice the robots into pieces.

After a while, I decide it's probably time to move further into the arena, so I breathe deeply to release the grasp I had on the water, and I rip the skin on my finger back open so I can draw the next symbol. Let's go with earth, there's plenty of that around.

I draw the symbol, and nothing happens. "Really!!? Not now, please, I can't do this right now!" I think as I start to redraw the symbol. When it still refuses to work, I decide to switch to fire because I guess earth is closed today.

Apparently, I was so focused on my own power I didn't even notice the ground shaking. I heard a girl yelling at me and I look up and see a huge frickin robot towering over me. She screams at me "Come on! My ice won't keep it there for long, just long enough so we don't get hurt!" and reaches out her hand.

I take her hand and she uses the ice to get us out of there. I turn around just in time to see that green haired kid fly up and hit that robot in its face, or whatever those weird red things are on... He starts to fall down and I see his limbs flailing in a way limbs are not supposed to flail.

"Dang, he needs some milk, that backlash is horrible." I whisper to myself, as he fell farther and farther.

I hear Mic come over the intercom to announce that the arena battle was done.

"Wow someone really went after the giant zero pointer?" I asked the candy cane girl, to which she responded with the fact that he did, and we should probably go check up on him.

Tiredly, we both make our way over to him, and I hear he whisper something about "overdoing it" to herself. I wanted to ask her if there was anything I could do, but it didn't seem like my place to step in.

When we get closer, she ran up to the boy hoping to do anything she could to help. I heard an older woman coming up behind me, and she tossed me some gummy bears before walking up to the kid that would be in pieces if his skin wasn't holding him together.

I took a gummy bear and plopped it into my mouth as she kissed him on the head.

At the sight of this I choked on my gummy bear and realized that he was healed after.

"This one will be fine, any other hurt children?" She asks.

I cough up my gummy bear and start to chew it again, and silently shook my head no, as she walked by to aid to the other children.

"Well that was interesting."
