Blindness is Key: Part 23 (Bakugo)

I took a deep breath in, and it felt like there was something on my chest. I reached up and rubbed my chest but there was nothing there.

"Y/n?" I heard.

"Mr. Aizawa?" I asked, and he took my hand so I could see him. "What happened?"

"Your father visited you, and he beat you." He said, and I nodded as I remembered. "And when he hit you, he caused your stitches to burst. And there was apparently a cut on the outside of your stomach from Toga's attack. So when he hit you it burst open and your stomach filled with your blood, that's why you threw up."

"Where is my Dad?" I asked him.

"He's at the police station right now." He answered.

"What's going to happen to him?" I questioned, part of me hoping this means I'll never see him again.

"Well it looks like so far, he's going to be let go." He answered.

"What?" I yelled and sat up, which was a big mistake and I clutched my stomach.

"Calm down." He told me and made me sit back. "There's a case being worked on right now, and you're going to have to go live with him again until the case is closed."

"What?" I yelled again, and I started shaking.

"Don't worry there's going to be an officer that comes to check on you twice a day." He told me.

"Mr. Aizawa, he's going to kill me." I said and covered my mouth. "He's going to kill me when I step back into that house."

"You have no other family in the area, so you have to stay with him." He told me.

"Why can't I stay at UA?" I asked, but I already knew the answer.

"Because you didn't get proper permission to go to UA." He said, and my heart sank. "You forged his signature. And I get why you did it, but now it means you can't come back until you have at least a foster home for a temporary time."

"Mr. Aizawa, no one wants a blind teenage girl as an adoptive child." I said and started crying. "I'm never going to return to UA again."

"Shh." He said and pulled me into a hug. He rested his chin on my head and held me tight. "Everything is going to work out, just fine."

"How?" I asked him.

"I don't know, but I know it'll work out." He told me. "You're too good of a person, for this one thing to not work out."

And I held onto him while I cried for a while. He rubbed my back until I was finally able to calm down.

"Where is everyone?" I asked.

"They're back at the beach house." He told me. "Due to your father's visit you're not allowed any visitors other than me, as your acting guardian for the time being. It doesn't help that Bakugo caused a mess, but you'd be in much worse condition if he hadn't."

"What happened with Bakugo?" I asked him.

"He beat the living hell out of your dad." Mr. Aizawa laughed. "It took three security guards to pull him off." He kept laughing, but all I could do was put my face in my hands. He took a deep breath, and got off of my bed. "Get some rest, you're being released in the morning. And I'll come pick you up."

"Okay." I said and laid down. "Mr. Aizawa, can I ask for something?" I asked him.

"What is it?" He asked. I asked him, and he he was quiet for a moment. "Do you think you'll be able to use it?"

"I'm hoping I'll be able to find some type of way to convince him." I said, and he took a deep breath.

"I'll work on it tonight." He said. "Get some rest." He then left the room and I couldn't stop thinking about what was going to happen to me.

I haven't even been at UA for a week, and I already have to leave. Not because I failed a class. Not because I started a fight. Not because I became a villain.

Because of my abusive parent, who couldn't stand me being happy.

I sat in the car with my eyes closed, hoping that the ride would be over soon. But also that it would last forever.

"Mr. Aizawa did you get the thing I asked for?" I asked him.

"Yes I did." He said and I held my hand out as he placed an envelope in my hand.

I held it to my chest, and tried thinking about what I was going to do with it. For now I put the envelope in the back of my pants, to hide it for the time being. My jacket would cover it well enough no one would see it.

"Your Dad got released when I was coming to get you." Mr. Aizawa told me and stopped the car, putting it in park. "He's going to be here soon to get you." I undid my seat belt and got out of the car.

My brain was so distracted, that as I shut the door, I didn't see that I was about to practically get tackled by Bakugo.

"Easy, easy." I said and hugged him back. I buried my head in his neck and for a moment it felt like all of my problems disappeared.

"Are you okay?" He asked me, and held my face in his hands. I nodded my head to him but he didn't let me go, and I shook my head no. He didn't say anything as he pulled me back into him, a bit gentler this time.

"Did Aizawa tell you what's going to happen?" I asked him in his ear.

"Yeah." He said, and I gripped onto his shirt.

"I don't want to go." I said.

"I don't want you to go either." He said. "I promise you I will do everything I can to help you."

"There's nothing that can help me at this point." I told him and he didn't argue with me. "I need to go pack." I said and let him go. He pulled on my jacket, but I didn't let him pull me back. I walked into the house, and everyone stood up in the living room.

"Y/n!" Mina said and ran up to me. She grabbed my hands in one hand and held my face in the other. I could only imagine what I looked like at this point. She didn't say anything as she hugged me, and I lightly hugged her back.

"I've got to go pack." I said and walked away from her.

"Pack?" She asked. "Why are you going to pack?" I didn't say anything as I walked up the stairs and down the hall. I don't know how much longer I could take talking before I brake down.

I walked into mine and Mina's room, and closed the door behind me. I grabbed my bag and started making sure I had my clothes in it. Which didn't take long, I made sure I put my clothes in my bag everyday, that way I didn't lose any of them.

But really, I just wanted to be left alone. I laid down on my bed and hugged my pillow to my chest. I let my head go blank, but that didn't get rid of the hurting feeling in my chest.

There was a knock on the door, but I didn't answer. I didn't even budge.

"Y/n?" Bakugo asked, and he crawled onto the bed. He pulled my pillow out of my grip and replaced it with himself. He hugged me close to him, and I buried my head in his chest. He didn't say anything, and neither did I. We just held each other.

And it took every part of me, not to cry. I didn't want to keep crying, I've cried a lot in my life. And I was tired.

"Bakugo?" I asked, and sat up.

"Yeah?" He asked and sat up as well.

"Can I feel your face again?" I asked him, but he didn't say anything. "Baku-."

"No." He told me, and I flinched.

"Why not?" I asked him.

"Don't act like you're not going to see me again." He told me.

"That's not what this is." I said, and reached my hand up. He grabbed my hand really tight, and pulled it away from his face. "Please?" I asked him, and he still refused. Finally I grabbed onto his face, and what I could see wasn't what caught my attention. What caught my attention was when he flinched. "Why'd you flinch?"

"It's nothing." He said and tried pulling away from me, but I slammed his back into the wall. And this time he didn't try to stop me and I used my fingers to map out his face.

I felt around his eyes, and he flinched the most there. Under his left eye, it was puffy and felt a bit tender under my fingers. And then I traced the outlining of his lips, and there was a cut that had scabbed over.

And I realized what the yelling was about in the hallway the day before.

"He hit you?"
