Chapter One: Where It All Began
The hero course students had all knew this day would finally come~
The day Jiro and Kami would finally stand at an alter, with their bestest of friends to their sides, staring into each other's eyes as they each say their written vows, followed by the magical words~
"I do"
When the two heroes would slip golden rings onto each others' fingers, kiss each other with passion, and after over a decade of pining and awkwardness, finally be bound in holy matrimony.
The two pros threw the reception of the decade, a party the likes of which none of their friends had been to since each starting their own lives. The music was banging with bass, the dance floor lit up in colorful lights, and it reminded the now adult class of the rave-like parties they all went to while in their younger hero careers.
The venue accommodated everyone, with an area for the smaller children, an area for the older children, and an area for the adults. The coastal manor hosted gardens, game rooms, and a garage filled with pillows, books, and blankets for some peace and quiet.
As the crowd was dispersed among the manor, the newlyweds were on the balcony. They were looking at the night sky and had bright smiles planted onto their faces. The soft breeze bellowed onto them, as if to make them cooler so that they would huddle closer. It worked, Kyouka gently swayed into Denki's embrace, getting a small chuckle from the blonde. All was quiet and peaceful, until their match maker, Pro Hero and bestie, Pinky sashayed onto the balcony with her hubby, Cellophane in tow.
"How did I guess my two oblivious idiots would be out here?" Mina giggled and went to Denki's side. Hanta found his place beside Kyouka, putting a gentle hand on her shoulder.
"You two get over stimulated? I know Denks probably got too agitated with the ceremony, being cramped on that dance floor probably didn't do much to help. I have a fidget cube in my pocket," Sero had always known when Denki or Mina needed time to stim, he was a great friend that way. As he reached for his inner coat pocket, Denki waved his hand.
"Don't worry, Hanta. I'm ok, just wanted to take in the view with my beautiful wife," Denki winked, causing Kyouka to blush and whack him with her ear-jack playfully. The other two friends laughed at the action.
"You know, Mina, we should thank you. If it weren't for you, we'd probably still be hopelessly pining for each other," Jiro was very open about how dumb both she and Denki had been, "everybody in class saw it, except for us,"
"Don't be that hard on yourself, Kyo, I'm sure not everybody knew," Denki tried to comfort her, but Sero had an unamused smile on his face.
"Dude, even Aizawa knew," he stated rather bluntly. Denki and Kyouka both snapped their heads to him.
"WHAT?!" they screeched in unison. The two others laughed as the balcony door opened. Out stepped Aizawa, who had been ordained just to officiate his kids' ceremonies. What can he say, he had a soft underbelly for this particular class.
"My ears are burning, you problem children better not be talking about me," he smiled tiredly.
"Speak of the devil and he shall come," Mina joked and giggled, "all good things, we promise sensei!" Aizawa let out a brief chuckle, shrugging it off. He'd been a lot more happy and energized since retiring. Now that his kids were out in the field, a lot of older heroes retired.
"Anyway, Mic is playing some new song. After that, the planner said you guys should be ready to cut the cake. They're setting up the dessert buffet now," Denki smiled brightly and nodded, he was glad both his former favorite teachers, as well as many UA staff, had attended his wedding.
"Thanks, sensei! We'll be back in, just taking a breather," he explained. Aizawa walked towards them, making a face that showed he needed to talk to the newlyweds alone. Mina and Hanta knew the look and happily dismissed themselves.
"Talk to me, problem children. What's really going on?" Aizawa knew these children like he knew his cats. Kyouka and Denki both looked at each other and smiled.
"It's nothing bad, really. We were just reminiscing," Kyouka looked at the sky with a smile.
"You haven't even been married for a day, what are you reminiscing about?" Aizawa's words held no malice, but laughable confusion.
"We were thinking about how we got to this point, how we ended up here in this spot," Denki elaborated kindly.
"You know, I don't believe I ever heard the story of how my two most love struck problem children went over a decade without making a move. Mic and I thought you two would've been the first to get married,"
"We thought that too," there at the entryway stood Bakugo, holding his daughter's hand, "we really should tell you everything. It's a pretty fun story to tell," Katsuki smiled as his daughter looked back inside. She lightly tugged his shirt, making him look down.
"Papa, I'm going to go see Auntie Momo. It looks like she and Uncle Eijiro are trying to gather the kids for dessert," she pointed to somewhere inside.
"Go ahead, princess, papa will come in after he's done," she nodded and went inside. Katsuki put his hands in his pockets and walked to them, "you two don't leave for your honeymoon for a few days. Why don't we head to Shoto and Momo's place and we can all spend the weekend relaying the story of you two all together?"
"Damn, Kacchan, Cho really made you soft," Denki smirked, but Katsuki simply shrugged.
"I guess she did," he turned to face Aizawa, "what about it sensei?"
"I'd love to, just as long as Mic can come. He wants to know just as much as I," they all nodded.
After the party was over and getting permission from Momo, Aizawa, Present Mic, class 1A and their children all went to the luxurious home of Momo and Shoto. Everybody had fallen asleep rather quickly, and awoke the next morning with a start. After a yummy breakfast, the group of adults all sat in the very large commons area.
"Well, little listeners, Shouta and I are all ears~" the group all looked at each other before laughing.
"It all started when I roped in Ena, Hoshi, and Okimi for a scheme,"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Hoshi-san! Why is your quirk so crazy?!" Ena shouted as she hid Okimi under her. Hoshi, being only a tot, merely laughed and thought they were playing. Ena, having been the oldest of the three, tried to calm Hoshi's quirk by turning on the lights over their table, as opposed to just their little desk lamps. Bad idea, Hoshi's dark shadow thrived and ended up knocking down paints from the craft table.
"What are you little munchkins doing?!" Ochaco and Mina came running in, mouths gaped as Hoshi was laughing at the harmless chaos. Ochaco turned off the big light and put a thick blanket over Hoshi, "Hoshi! You must be careful! Somebody could've gotten hurt!" she gently scolded.
Dark shadow wallowed and hid behind his owner. She smiled softly and pet his cheek.
"Sorry," he whispered as he looked at the two girls he had scared. He was especially sad to see he had scared Okimi and began to cry. Okimi walked over and hugged him, petting his head and dark shadow's too. Mina smirked as she looked at the destruction.
"Hey, Uraraka, may I borrow these three for an hour or so?"
"Mina, what half cooked scheme do you have now?" Mina waved her hands and chuckled.
"Nothing you should worry about! Besides, the other kids are gonna need a nap soon. I'm sure me taking three off your hands wouldn't be so bad!" Ochaco sighed and caved at her pink bestie, allowing her to take the kids. She hoped she wouldn't regret it.
She did.
Not even a half hour later, she had lost Okimi in the streets. Now, it's one thing to lose a kid. But, when you lose a kid who is not your own and also quirkless, that's a lot to process.
"Shit tits, I can't believe I lost her! Hopefully she didn't manifest Toru's quirk late and make it impossible to find her," Ena had been holding Hoshi's hand. The poor boy lost his crush and was about to cry.
"Auntie Mina, did somebody take her away?!" he shouted.
"No! No, it'll be ok Hoshi! Just keep control of your quirk and we'll find Oki-chan really soon!" she tried to reassure him. But he wasn't convinced. He broke out of Ena's hand and ran away at a speed no five year old on the planet should possess. Mina was really starting to freak out now, she had lost two children.
"Auntie, are you ok?" Ena asked worriedly. Mina wasn't paying attention and Ena thought she saw someone in the corner of her eye. So she walked away. Mina turned around and now, totally kidless, screeched in horror.
Meanwhile, Okimi had been wandering the streets alone. She was scared and trembling, and nobody seemed to pay her much mind. That is, until a big man with snarled fangs and a smirk found her.
"What's the matter, kiddy? Are you lost?" he chuckled lowly. He stepped closer to her, making her body feel frozen in place. She trembled harder as he was about to touch her, when sparks of yellow danced around his body. He fell to the ground as the person who shocked him came into view.
"Oki-chan?! What on Earth are you doing out here?!" Denki ran over to the small girl, hugging her tightly. He then took out his radio, "this is Chargebolt, I have a suspect down. Requesting detainment cuffs and vehicle,"
'We read you Chargebolt, requesting location'
"We're in the north alley in downtown Inkato, suspect seems to have a beast mutation quirk due to large jowls, claws, and fangs. No other apparent signs of his quirk,"
'Detainment dispatch is deployed, well done Chargebolt,' he smiled at the radio and turned his bright face back to Okimi.
"Now, Okimi, once we get this monster away, I'm going to take you back to Auntie Chaco,"
"I was with Auntie Mina, we were at the park with Ena-niichan and Hoshi-san," she told. Denki nodded and rubbed her head.
"Do you remember which park? I'll bring you to her, it's no good making her walk all the way here when she has two other restless kids," Okimi nodded, telling him the name of the park before she snuggled into his chest and began to nap.
Meanwhile, across town, Hoshi was running still. He wasn't even trying to pay attention to where he was going, he just needed to run. Suddenly, the Earth shook, and some rubble began to fall right towards little Hoshi.
"Watch out, kid!" thin arms tad in leather quickly wrapped around him, flipping a few times and landing away from the rubble. Hoshi looked up and beamed in delight.
"Auntie Jiro!" the purple haired hero looked down and finally recognized the child in her arms.
"Hoshi?!" Jiro was quick to assess the situation, she needed to get the rest of the street evacuated since the tremor had caused a crack through all the buildings' foundations.
"Auntie?" Hoshi didn't like the stressed look on her face, but she attempted to smile and hide it.
"This is Earphone Jack, I need an evacuation team for south Inkato from 4th up until 8th. Tremors have caused cracked foundations, these buildings aren't safe,"
'Reading you loud and clear, EJ. Cementos is on his way, as well as the evac team. For now, clear bystanders,'
"Copy," she turned to Hoshi and held him close, "Hoshi, think you can use your quirk to help me fly like your papa does? It'll be a big help,"
"Yes, Auntie!" he manifested dark shadow and wrapped both of them up, making wings and flying up. Jiro then turned on her microphone she had on her headphones.
"Attention all bystanders, we are evacuating blocks 4 to 8, please remain calm and head to the neighboring blocks of 14 to 18. I repeat, in an orderly fashion, blocks 4 to 8 must evacuate to blocks 14 to 18!" Hoshi helped her fly as she announced it more. By the time she was done, the evac team was there.
"Auntie, are you going to take me back to Auntie Mina in the park? I want to apologize, I was so sad that I ran away because she lost Oki-chan. Ena-niichan tried to keep me calm, but I was still so sad," Jiro's brow quirked and she sighed.
"I guess, the team should have it handled here,"
Both Denki and Jiro met at the entrance of the park, both equally surprised to see one another. They hadn't been able to hang out with their conflicting work schedules, so this unpredicted meeting was actually quite nice.
"Hey, Kyo, how has work been?" Denki asked awkwardly. She merely shrugged and gulped, looking away.
"Fine, nothing new or exciting on my end. What about you?" Denki now looked away with blush.
"I took down an underground trafficking ring with Katsuki and Shoto last week, that was exciting. Made for good publicity too, being seen with the number two and number three hero,"
"Woah, cool, I guess," the two children noticed the blushing on their Auntie and Uncle, but didn't quite know what it meant, "we should probably return these guys to Mina,"
"Yeah, yeah," Denki coughed and waved his hand in a grand opening gesture, "ladies first," Jiro rolled her eyes.
"Dork," she giggled as she walked ahead. They only walked for a few minutes before they found the hysterical pink hero crying on a bench. They walked right in front of her, smiling with pride.
"Lose something, Alien Queen?" Denki asked jokingly. Mina's head shot up and she looked at her two friends.
"You found them?! Oh thank god! Tokoyami, Asui, Toru, and Ojiro would've killed me!" Jiro looked around before quirking her head to the side.
"Huh, Ei is gonna kill you too. Little Ena isn't here either," Mina groaned and shook her head, placing her face in her palms.
"Don't remind me," her voice was muffled. The other two giggle and set the kids on the bench.
"Well, we have to get back on patrol. We'll talk soon Mina!" Denki and Jiro both went in the same direction. Just as they had left, Ena came back. She was holding hands with two taller men, and Mina blanched when she realized it was Tailman and Tsukuyomi, with not so smiley faces.
Back at the entrance of the park, Denki and Jiro were about to part ways. But, before they could, Denki gently grabbed Jiro's shoulder.
"So, um, we haven't hung in a while. I have off next Friday and the following Thursday. What about you?"
"I don't have off for another two weeks, I spent most of my days off when I was sick last month. With Ochaco on maternity leave for another few months and Shinso, Monoma, Tetsutestu, and Mineta still hospitalized after the drug raid they did two weeks back, I took a lot of the open hours out of obligation,"
"Damn, Kyouka, you really should spread the work. I get we're down five heroes, but we still have each other. You shouldn't feel obligated to take so many hours since you were sick,"
"It's fine, Denki, most of the shifts are paperwork days. From what I understand, Mineta and Testu hate doing it so it's often pushed back,"
"Still,"
"It's cool, I'm fine, stop worrying so much. You're the one who should be worried. You've got nothing but patrols for the next month aside from, what, three shifts? Crime is rising again, and we don't know why. At least is was obvious last time with All Might's retirement," Denki shrugged.
"Maybe a wannabe version of the LOV is coming," Jiro took a deep breath.
"Just try not to die in the field, you're the only hero who brings happiness to this profession," she crossed her arms and began to walk away, "see ya, Pikachu!"
"Peace out, Girl Scout!" he could hear her groan at the saying from down the block, making him laugh.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"We hadn't known it at the time, but Denki was right," Mina spoke softly as the group seemed rather entrapped with the tale.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Boss, are you sure he is the one we should go after?" A man with silver and black hair spoke to a man in a large arm chair. The man smirked as he watched the screens that surrounded them.
"You worry too much, Darius," the man's gaze was filled with tension as he licked his lips, "he's the perfect target,"
On every monitor, we're photos, videos, standstills, and screenshots of all the same person.
