Mew's POV

I knew we won't be getting along but at least exchanging small talks and bickering is better than complete silence, especially since it's a break and we spend most of the time at home, things calmed down after the caught of that husband and his wife yet they refuse to say anything which was depressing. His friends visited today lighting up the mood a bit

"wow, this is a very secured building using three keys!" Ram said

"I was surprised too when I first moved here and kept mixing between the three, one with a password for the entryway, one key for the elevator and one key with another password to the house door" Gulf explained

"this place is more secured than a prison" Prem said making them laugh, well I also agree, I also was surprised by how secured can a building be, no wonder it's full of idols and executives here, suddenly Ram turned facing me

"P' Mew, could you tell us about life in London?"

"life in London?"

"yes, like what's the difference from here, how is the atmosphere there? Things like that" this was my real first time interacting with them, well I don't mind telling them those trivial things, Luke always told me to stop being all secretive about everything and relax so I decide to tell them about how things are there, they listened to me with excited eyes and asking all kind of questions and somehow I found myself loosening up around them, even Gulf was interested and asked me a couple of questions

"amazing! You make me want to visit England right now" Ram said

"let's do it, after graduation, let's plan for a trip to London, three of us" Prem suggested

"that would great! Ah but I need to improve my English more, it's my worst subject"

"it's your fault for not focusing on it, start studying it as soon as possible" Prem said

"I will! Gulf you will be my tutor starting today"

"I refuse" Gulf said that almost immediately with straight face that shocked Ram who jumped taking his hands

"please teacher, I promise I will focus from now on!" looking desperate made Prem and Gulf burst into laughter, I also couldn't help but giggle watching them, I suddenly felt someone staring, I glanced to find Gulf looking at me with astonishment which confused me, later when his friends left

"why were you staring at me earlier?" I asked while we were cleaning around

"it was the first time you giggled, I was stunned since you always was expressionless" during the time I spent with Gulf, this is the most thing I noticed about him, he is so honest, there is no hesitation or even a second of thinking, it's like he says the first think on his mind immediately, for me who is very secretive and always on guard, facing a frank person like him feels a bit weird and makes me feel stupid for being suspicious of him

"do I look like a robot?! Of course I can laugh and have fun, but I can only relax with my friends and family"

"why? You should at least be a little friendly even with strangers, every friends start as strangers just like your friends from England" I posed looking to him, he actually hit the point, just what Noah and Luke said before but

"I can't help it, it's something I picked from martial arts, to always be on guard and keep a distance from strangers"

"you know sometimes, those who are close to you can be the bad ones, I've read an article before talking about a case where the killer is the Forensic pathologists who was always besides the detectives acting normally, if you keep being suspicious of everyone like this, you may find yourself alone one day, even your current friends may get bothered by your stiff behavior"

"hey! What do you by stiff?!"

"stiff? Fake? It feels like you are acting instead of being yourself, just drop your guard and take it easy, it's when you get close to people you will able to know if they are good or bad" he kept talking collecting the empty bottles and cans, how did a brat notice my fake behavior? He is surprisingly perceptive

"oh, btw, you should go out more, stop locking yourself here with me, I will be fine in the secured building so why don't you go enjoy your time with your family and relatives?"

"I promised to stay with you 24/7 so-"

"and I promised that I won't do anything without telling you, tomorrow go out, I promise I will stay home and won't leave until you come back, besides, I should start preparing for next year since it's my last one, not to mention I will be tutoring Ram English online half of the day, so go ahead and call someone to go out with tomorrow" I do want to meet up with my two cousins but is it really alright to leave him alone here?

"I will be fine and if anything may happen I will contact you" he smiled and then continued cleaning, since he will be locked here all day I guess it's fine to go out for a few hours and meet my cousins, the next day

"keep your phone with you and fully charged"

"yes"

"lock the door after I go out and don't open the door to anyone except your friends and parents, and don't ask for any deliveries"

"yes"

"stay away from the windows and never go out for any reason, even if your parents called you to come out, don't do it and ask them to come up instead"

"yes, P' Mew, I'll be 23 years old soon so everything will be fine, just go out already!" he started pushing me out

"make sure to call me even if it's a trivial thing!!!"

"I will, have fun!!" he closed the door, I heard him locking it before going to meet my cousins, in the few hours I spent with them I had so much fun, we talked about so many things, our childhood and the times when I visited them, I felt really relaxed but on the same I kept checking my phone once in a while just in case, half of my mind was thinking of Gulf who was locked up in his own house, damn those bastards who corner people like that depriving them even from comfortably having fresh air

When I got back, I sat after sunset, when I stood to open the door I noticed a package on the left side, I took it and went inside, I found Gulf cooking dinner while reading the recipe on his IPad, I kept asking him if anything had happened

"nothing P' Mew, except for a guy who said that he had a package so I told him to leave it by the door, did you find it?"

"yes, it's a rectangle box" I said showing it to him

"it's surely from them" he said sighing while I slowly opened, I was expecting to find a dead rat or some pictures like always but instead there was a flash disk and a dirty bloody handkerchief, the moment Gulf saw the inside he dropped the ball of rice that he was carrying, I flinched as it fell shattering in many pieces mixing with the rice, I kept staring at Gulf who lost all colors in his face, a pure terror was overflowing from his eyes while he stood speechless as his eyes were focusing on the handkerchief

"you say dead animals and gore pictures why would this dirty cloth scare you like that?" I was met by silence

"hey, Gulf, what's wrong?" he suddenly fell down not uttering a word, I was so confused so I took the flash disk and went to my room, I only found two videos inside, I played the first one, at first it was blurry but slowly it started focusing, my eyes widened to see a man and a woman chained to the wall both naked having cuts all over their body with blood oozing from all the injuries, they both were unconscious but the one who was recording begin whipping them suddenly making them wake up and started screaming so loud

Hearing them pleading and asking for forgiveness made me so furious that I wished I could go this bastard right now, but the heartless criminal kept hitting them over and over again, I could even hear the sound of the whip swinging, he suddenly throw it away and started throwing darts that got planted in their skin, I froze watching in shock, I heard and read about those crazy people but to see it with my own eyes makes me both enraged and even scared, yes, it's surely scary to be with someone like him

The first video that only lasted 5 min ended with the couple fainting again, I was hesitant to watch the second one but I had to, the moment it started I saw Gulf's face, his eyes was red and puffy and there was some cuts on his cheeks and lips, I noticed that he looked younger, the camera started moving away as I saw that he was wearing a high school uniform and that he was on the dirty floor tied to a pipe, he was staring ahead of him as tears were sliding down his cheeks and the camera slowly turned to show what Gulf was seeing, it was the couple from the first video

They were awake shivering and sobbing as blood was dropping from them lie the drops of a light rain, the view returned to Gulf who was frozen crying looking to them in silence, he suddenly got hit causing another injury to appear on his fair skin, I was watching with an open mouth not knowing how to react, so this what Gulf talked about last time, now I understand why he care about people more than himself, he witnessed such a thing when he was just in high school, it's already a miracle that he's still sane, the video ended with the sound of an evil snicker

I kept sitting there not knowing how to react or what to say, my mind has stopped processing, suddenly I noticed Gulf coming inside the room slowly still looking like a ghost with fear drawn on his face, he slowly came next to me looking to the laptop, my first reaction was to quickly shut the screen, he never must see that again

"you saw them, the couple and the young me?" he finally managed to say smth

"was it your bodyguard?" he faintly nodded

"the couple was actually trying to get me because of my father's work but that man kidnapped the three of us and tortured them for two days in front of me, even if they tried to get me, they were still humans, they didn't deserve to be" he suddenly stopped looking down, all the memories must have came back to him, I stood patting on his shoulder, he unconsciously walked closer to me resting his head on my shoulder while I tapped gently on his back trying to comfort him although I couldn't find any words

"we were all released and that man disappeared, he completely vanished leaving no trace, I was traumatized that I couldn't speak for days, I decided not to tell my father since he already was suffering enough because of his work and my kidnapping, it took me years to finally move on and forget about him, but it seem he is back... this literally the worst year of my life, the criminal group on one side and this evil man on the other side, I don't think I will be able to stay alive until graduation at this rate" his voice was both emotional mixed with fright and pain

Seeing him like this made me really want to actually protect him, all this time I spent with him proves that he is not a bad person, someone who is treasured by his friends and loved by his family can never be a bad person, he really doesn't deserve to be hurt or treated badly by those disgusting jerks

"don't worry, I'm here with you, I know you can't trust me and I can completely understand that but I promise I will stay by your side until all those bastards are thrown in jail"

"no!!!" he suddenly yelled looking up shocking me, he held me by the shoulder

"you need to leave P' Mew, I got to know that you are different from anyone I met, please go back to London and enjoy a normal life away from danger and fear, he will come for you, he knows that you are my bodyguard so he will surely targets you" I patted on his head

"I won't leave, I will stay here and keep you safe, I'm stronger than what you think, everything will be fine"

"he is insane, he is even worse than the group"

"I've noticed that, that's why he need to be caught so he won't hurt any more people, depend on me more Gulf, tell me everything and I will protect you" I was stunned to see tears sliding out as he looked to me both happy and concerned, I couldn't stop myself from hugging him

"I will guard you from any harm and you will successfully graduate and start working"

"thank you... thank you P' Mew... thank you" he kept thanking me while sobbing, I really feel sorry for him, he clearly is an innocent man who was pulled by the wrong guys, I'm so stupid for even being on guard with him, he even hid everything so he won't make his father worried while he was traumatized and suffering alone, I will keep him safe no matter what.
