Nanna, the daughter of a simple lord and a simple housewife, had lived in Wessex/Winchester all her life. She had seen a lot and experienced a lot and yet it seemed as if she had skipped over the worst things or simply blocked them out! Death, grief, retribution...all things Nanna had never experienced before! And no matter how many times she told people - they wouldn't believe her!

Only 2 people believed her - Æthelflæd of Wessex & Mercia and her brother, Edward of Wessex!

They were her best friends and she couldn't imagine her life without them! At some point she met 3 warriors and, as fate would have it, the half-brother of Æthelflæd and Edward.

She quickly realised that her 4 new friends were just as important to her as Æthelflæd and Edward and she wanted to spend every spare minute with them! But that wasn't so easy, because she had absolutely no idea how to handle weapons, let alone how to fight.

Uhtred, Finan and Osferth made fun of her here and there and the only one who seemed to want to help her was - Sihtric!

Hello there! As you can see, I have changed my writing style and my cover design. For me personally, I like it better than my old writing style and my old cover design!

However, I can still keep my old writing style and cover design if you say you like it better in the old style!

But more on that another time, for now you should have fun reading! I hope you will enjoy this story! I'll do my best to put all the ideas that are buzzing around in my head into the story!
