1. Kuroko Tetsuya - Teach Me How
"You're doing it wrong, Kuroko-kun," you pointed out. His cerulean orbs went straight to your face, confusion obvious in his gaze. You placed your finger on his paper, showing him a polynomial which he factored wrongly.
"Once you're wrong in one part, you're also wrong in your answer," you said in that a-matter-of-factly tone of yours.
He looked at his paper then nodded. "I see. I'll do it over again."
"Do your best!" you cheered softly with a reassuring smile."
"Okay," said he as he took another clean blank sheet of paper then started to redo his computation and solution.
You leaned back on your seat, waiting for him to finish. Only the sound of his lead pencil scribbling on his paper could be heard in the almost empty classroom the two of you were in. Your (eye color) eyes fell on the scene outside through the transparent glass windows of the classroom - the Seirin basketball team laughing as they walked home together.
Knowing that the male in front of you would actually rather be with his teammates, you looked at him unconsciously and caught him glancing at you before turning to his solutions again. Maybe he wanted to finish already because you're not a good tutor? Remembering that he actually asked you specifically to teach him math and that you're known to be one of the great semi-tutors of the class, you shook the thought out of your mind.
"I'm done," you heard him say, as he held his paper in front of you like a proud little kindergartner who just finished his work of art. "Please take a look at it."
With a small nod and a gentle smile, you took the paper. You automatically looked at his final answer at the bottom and it's . . . unfortunately wrong. Again, your self-calculating eyes browsed through his long solution to find out where he went wrong; and you found it, right in the middle of the paper. Instead of the plus sign, he wrote a minus.
You put the paper down on the desk between the two of you then turned it around for him to see. You pointed at the supposedly-plus-turned-minus sign in the middle of the paper. "You were close... Good job though."
With a soft sigh, his eyes fell to the ground. He looked disheartened. Something deep in your chest pained you the moment you saw the expression he wore on his face. "U-Um... Kuroko-kun, practice makes perfect!"
He nodded but his expression still hasn't changed.
Panicking, you thought of another. "People have their specialties, Kuroko-kun! You're good in geography and history! I'm kind of good with math. Just like in your basketball games. You're best in passing while Kagami-kun is good at jumping! J-Just don't worry about it!"
The passer looked up to you as his lips slowly curved upward, though it seemed kind of forced. "I guess you're right. . ." he finally said after three seconds.
"Y-Yeah..."
And then there was silence."Then shall we call it a day? I think you're pretty tired," you finally decided to say, breaking the glass of silence separating the two of you. The sun was starting to paint the surroundings orange, showing that it would soon go down and would be replaced by the bright cold silver moon in the dark star-scattered night sky.
"That'll be good," said the player as he stood up from his seat then started arranging his things. You did the same with yours.
Walking home, the two of you walked side-by-side since your houses were in the same direction. The air was getting cool due to the fact that the nighttime was drawing near; the surroundings were also getting darker. There weren't much people in the area, too.
Come to think of it, this was the first time you walked with Kuroko, and probably also the first time you walked with a boy. The thought made your cheeks feel a little warmer so you turned your head to the direction opposite him so that he wouldn't see.
After a few seconds, you heard his voice say your name. "________-san. . ."
With that, you automatically faced him as the thought of your blushing face falling out of your concern. "Yes?"
"Were you watching our games?"
"Yeah. They were awesome! Especially when you did that Cyclone Pass with your game against Shutoku and that Ignite Pa - " you stopped letting the words come out of your mind so thoughtlessly. You were ready to die of embarrassment that very second. Watching his every game was supposed to be your little secret; not a single soul knew about it. But now, you just told it to the very reason why you watch those basketball games. Red with embarrassment, you looked down to hide your flushing face.
"I see. . . Then... how did you know the subjects I'm good in?"
Agh! How could you be so stupid!? Well, there's no point in lying now. "I... pay attention when your name is called... Sensei thinks you're good at those subjects."
"Oh..."
"W-Well... Kuroko-kun... to be honest, I... I like you!" you finally confessed, letting out the feelings you've bottled up since the first day of school. Your chest started to throb as your probably strawberry-red cheeks felt like they were burning. Your knees also felt like wobbling unstable jelly. You couldn't even look at him due to what you were feeling.
"I thought... you liked smart guys?"
"You're the one I like, Kuroko-kun!"
"Then... could you teach me how to . . ."
To what? Solve trigonometric problems? Gladly!
". . . be your ideal boyfriend?"
Eh...
EH?!
You looked up to him, eyes filled with surprise and chest filled with fireworks. You saw his really handsome smile aimed at you. The fireworks increased in size and quantity.
"I like you too, __________-san. Will you go out with me?"
